you know what it is. american truck companies didnt compete much between each other, as pick ups for example were geared towards work truck consumer base. I mean why reinvent the wheel if, the truck worked and havent been changed for decades, but when toyota and nissan came out with a work truck that has style and power, american trucks fell behind, lost a lot of share although F150 is still number 1.

Theres a reason you don't see construction companies using tundras to haul building supplies to a job site, or someone using a tundra to haul 10000 lbs of scrap metal to the scrap yard, my point is that companies that provide hard, manual labor use American trucks because they are tougher, more reliable, and more powerful than the pieces of garbage that the japanese call trucks.

final assembly is a small portion of the equation - sub assembly building, foundry work, sourcing and R&D are all japanese. Yes some japanese products are assembled in the USA but the bulk of the process is in Japan.
