Flight control system: This is not entirely correct. MBB had developed the flight control system of the Rockwell-MBB X31 in 1990-1995. This was an experimental aeronautically unstable aircraft including thrust vectoring. The basis for the typhoon. So they had more experience than the Brits in developing a flight control systems for such an aircraft. So the British expert is clearly wrong.
@doctim11 if you've been folowing the history of fighters, you'd notice, that stealth planes in general, had an edge for a very short periode before the detection technology get pass the form of stealth (physical and electronics), the Eurofighter doesn't make compromises, it is a very agressive plane, unlike let's say a F-22 that because of it electronics and physical property make them less manoeuvrable
@InitialDAmine If you knew what you were talking about you would know that you can't hit what you can't see and we stay one or two steps ahead of detection. The Eurofighter lights up light a super nova on even the most primitive screens. It's probably a good plane for dogfighting but the idea is never to dogfight in the first place: BVR Kills is where it's at.
@doctim11 "BVR Kills is where it's at." Its of no use to be stealthy, if you have no means to detect your opponent. The F-22 merely uses active radar for long range detection. Thereby, it is broadcasting information to enemy planes. A good stealth plane needs passive detection, for example IRST and RWR. If you are shooting radar guided missiles beyond visual range then the enemy has lots of time to implement countermeasures, radar jamming, chaff, decoys, maneuvers...
@asfinland the Rafal is better in general than the Eurofighter, simply because the EF is still incomplete and it is more expensive than the Rafal while being almost equivalent in every aspect.
@xenomorphelv426 the uk atleast doesnt need a carrier ready aircraft as we will be getting one with the F-35, besides our new carriers wont be ready until 2014-16 anyway
what the heck does he mean Bad guys ?

Andrew Brooks is a joke. Europe is not a country. Well as a matter or fact there's just to much talk of a possibility of a break up.
"Euro Dream" "Euro Pride"...... Rubbish

They spent a lot of money for a 4th generation fighter - too much for it not to be stealthy

This is the aircraft that the Royal Australian Air Force should purchase instead of the F35.

@1dschamp Considering we need a Multi/Omnirole fighter we would have been better off buying the Rafale.

If you have a big aircraft carrier buy a Rafale, if not, the very best option is by far the Eurofighter.
