The Mics are setup with one on the snare and then the beta52 just slightly inside the port hole on the front of the bass drum. I use an Attack Non-res Black head on the front. The other two overhead SM57s pick up the rest of the kit. The one on my left is over the 18" crash ride and picks up some snare (ambiant) cymbals, my hats and rack toms. The right overhead is over the ride towards the large tom..keeping the drums close together allows the two overheads to do a pretty good job.
hey mate a quick question cos i cant find the info anywhere...
so the mics run to a mixer (whats that?) then from the mixer they go to your zoom h2 recorder? (i saw them on ebay for 200) then from there are they saved as a file is is the h2 then connected to the computer via usb or midi? sorry if that sounds stupid i really have no idea how to do it but i really want to.. is it simple?
Thanks for the comments. I think I corrected that in the newer Drum Lessons that I posted. Check those out and see if they sound better to ya'. If not I can make the correction on my EQ! Thanks Again!

audio sounds great - where'd you place the three sm57s? i see one on the snare - how'd you divide them amongst the toms?

sounds good, roll back on the kick gain a bit tho, its sounds like it was clipping during record.

i have a question from the mixer your microphones go to your camera or to your computer?
IonRocker5000 1 year ago
@IonRocker5000 ,
Thanks for the question. I have the mics plugged into my mixer and then I go directly out of the mixer into a Zoom H2 Personal Digital Recorder.
