The NY Times review of Ace of Cakes mentioned something very telling about the show; no one EVER talks about how these creations actually TASTE. It's all show and no substance. I'd rather have a boring design on a moist, delicious cake than have a MOMA cake that tastes dry and awful.

I think its more for decoration unless its made exactly right. Some say it tastes like wax. When you take a bite, all the cake is gone but the fondant is still there. Lol. Not really appetizing. =/
