  • LOL, why do people insist on calling hardware samplers "analog"? Nice beat, though.

  • @subtracktion Yea.. I feel you.. I guess all that goes out the window when a beat is dope!

  • Mattman and KiofNC, you guys are ST-224 OGs!! Mattman, I remember reading your review of the ST around '04. You claimed it as the SP-12 killer and I was sold on it.

The ST's are in demand today since they can outperform the SP-303. The days of finding them for next to nothing are gone.

  • I'd kinda like to hear the finnished product. To be honest; at first I hadn't a clue where the hell ur goin on this one... but i like how you mess with the sample AFTER you lay it down..

  • really dope

  • @immasuperninja just checked out your stuff...YOUR DOPE!

  • @kiofnc haha thanks for real man means alot, i post most of my stuff on soundcloud dawt cahm sxlash milklord

  • nice man

what is the machine near the ST? a recorder?

    cool video indeed

  • @yohppoy Thanks! yes it's a Roland VS 840 Digital Recorder

  • dope i neva mastered that unit but it was dope shoulda been as popular as the 303

  • @eyeseafree Yea.. there's something about those older groove boxes and small samplers! Despite the prices they have a certain grit and analog bite compared to newer equipment!

  • nice flip son!!!! where n NC u from? I'm n Kinston. I used the st224,MPC 1000,SP404,SP555,and NI Maschine. We to connect. Trying to start a producer group that make REAL HIP HOP BEATS for upcoming MC's in NC. GET AT ME!!!!

  • Nice chops man! It's good to go back to basics some times. I dig the style. Peace.

  • Thank Numeric! I had a ST-224 waaay before I owned a MPC 2000XL. I would chose the 224 over the MPC any day because it has alot of slept on features. I'll join the forum tonight! Thanks for the comment!!!!

  • @kiofnc

Yeah I bought a 2000 about a year after I got my 224 thinking I would end up selling it, but it ended up being the other way around.

Sound wise it's very versatile. At 16khz it can produce sounds much like the sp1200, or Emax.

What are these things, like $90 on ebay!

  • @MattmanAZ09 Hey Matt.. I know you!...you probably remember me when i use to go by Lo'Ki....we connected years ago on soundclick because of the sampletrak.....lol check your myspace account for kiofnc and I bet you already have me added! The sampletrak keeps bridging the gap!

  • @kiofnc

Yeah, I remember you from Myspace.

How long have you had your sampletrak?

Nice, and well organized studio by the way. Mine's mess right now ha.

  • @MattmanAZ09 I've been using the Sampletrak for about 10 years Matt... I remember back you had the Mattman logo and it was Spacey!..lol As far as the studio..I promise you mine probably looks like yours at the moment...im currently reorganizing the entire studio to make it more efficient AND one of my best friends is going to give me another Sampletrak...so I'm gonna have a Sampletrack 448 when all is said and done...lol

  • hey man you should come over and visit the sampletrak forums. It's run by me and a bunch of loyal 224 headz visit regularly. the address is sampletrak dot lefora dot com

  • @nuemerik oh yah I really dig the video too!! forgot to give props first... my bad :P
