  • america, f*** yeah!!!!!!

  • Nice rifle. My M1 is a mix matched rifle that originally had one of the Dutch receivers. I had a problem while shooting it where the op rod popped out of the receiver when firing so I ended up getting a CMP Springfield receiver and installed it. Now it runs like a smooth machine and is very accurate.

  • Yea the CMP is a good program! I have had a few of my friends go through them and got Quality M1's. This rifle is on my list!

  • Just sent in my paperwork today! Thanks Miller for the info. Cant wait!!

  • Hey man, this vid hit me up with an Obama ad too. Just letting you know.

  • Great snag Miller !! I owned several Garands over the years and yes, I have an idiot mark to prove it. I have a very ugly permanently scarred right thumb, Garand thumb, be careful, She's a beauty but she can bite. : )

  • Very Very Nice

  • My Grandpa gave me a numbers matching M1 Garand that his dad got off an American in a trade for one of our Lee Enfield SMLE back after the war. The Garand also works well in cold conditions! I dug mine out of a box in a barn in the winter and it was frozen solid and it fired right out of the box even in the freezing cold!

  • @rooftopeagle Oh and If you're in a cold climate get the winter trigger! Worth having on hand!

  • What a beauty ;)

  • Very informative. Thanks!

  • whoever said that they came with grease on the rifle is full of it. cmp completely disassemble, clean, checkout and rebuild it from mixmatched parts.

  • @danthman114 there have been some cmp rifles with grease in them. Probably the rack grades, but I'm not totally sure which ones.

  • @danthman114 Incorrect. They may remove/swap bolts and/or trigger groups, but they don't fully disassemble the rifles. They have a cool machine that removes MOST of the cosmoline but they leave the rifles assembled. The last 2 I've gotten have been almost completely cosmo-free EXCEPT in the ferrule/handguards. One service grade I didn't fully strip/clean before shooting. When it heats up, grease starts running and flies everywhere. LOL

  • Most beautiful rifle ever built. In my opinion, anyways.

  • Look at all that ammo, ready to go to war, aren't we?

  • NICE. I love the classics and the M1903,M1 and even the M1 carbine are just classsic American firepower from the 'Arsenal of Democracy".

  • Hey Miller :D How many guns u own?? I luv your videos man.. ;D

  • thats the sound of a dead/dying/praying nazi, thats what that is.

  • Great vid as always. However, the atomic bomb won WWII, not a rifle.

  • @robbwilk Well, maybe it won the war in Europe.

  • @robbwilk no. the war was won, it was just the matter of how it was going to be finished. with a invasion twice the size of D-day on japan. or with a bomb we didn;t know would work in combat.

  • I need a garand, I have hndreds of .30 cal on clips from ww2 and post ww2 canadian amrourys. got it for free a few years ago. like 2 ammo cans of it.

  • Makes you wonder what happen to all the 1000's we gave to other nations.

  • Glad you got it.

  • Nice video

  • Beautiful rifle!

  • awesome rifle

  • After seeing M1s in local gun stores selling for over $1000, I didn't think I would be able to afford one. I'm already looking up CMP affiliated organizations in my area. Thanks for the vid!

  • Wow, what a real beauty. That rifle looks fantastic. My father used one in Korea, in mud, extreme cold, snow and ice conditions....he loved it, He told me stories of how they would literally snipe dozens and dozens of enemy by the moonlight who were still trying to cross the frozen rivers on foot with supplies and weapons after they had blown the bridge on a supply route.

Have you ever fired one before? Plan on shooting this one? Vid-vid-vid.please....

  • So, wait...Me being prior military (Honorably Discharged), I can send in a packet and payment for a CMP rifle without being a member of a gun club?

I just want to get that straight.

  • Man, I want one of these! I will look into a special grade or even a collectors grade. Thanks for the video...

  • Miller this is the most jealous of you I've been lol

  • Ironic how youtube put an Obama campaign ad on the beginning on an M! video...

  • man such a great looking rifle. Plan on getting me one here soon maybe from CMP or when the Koreans give them back to US. Man sweet rifle.

  • My Italian Garand has a Clint Fowler adjustable gas valve plug. I have had no issues with firing 203 grain hand loads.at less than $150 it is a worthy addition, allowing the Garand to be used as a big game rifle. Before he died, Richard McCann of McCann Industries, Spanaway, Washington, did Garand conversions to ,.458 magnum. The receivers have no failure reports.

  • The M14, is the basically the same gun, but with 20 round mag, and full auto fire, and different cartridge!

  • The Garand is a thing of beauty......much like a 1911. Nothing like picking one up and shooting it and knowing that this rifle was instrumental in WW2......sound of freedom, I like that....true true.

  • About the CMP, if you are with in at least 500 miles i would suggest you go to the stores. How many times will you go to a store that is jam packed with American history?

  • The greatest battle implement ever devised for $650

  • @shanehey Heck, it's only 525 if you don't mind some dings and a slightly degraded muzzle/throat rating (not by much......still good quality shootable rifles).

  • @isamtator It is WELL worth your time. Get there soon.

  • @laddjm I will try to when ever I get the time off to do it.

  • @millerusaf Did you know Mr. Garand built a skating ring in the living room of his house?

TheM1 Garand is the king of battlerifles. The daddy of the M14.

  • @laddjm Yep. The M1 is the king, and father, of the modern semi auto combat rifles.

  • I heard that you could not, fire modern 30-06 in the rifles.

  • @isamtator Correct. Heavier grain commercial loads can bend the op rod. Stick with old surplus ball, and with the few commercial offerings for the M1 with loads of 150 grain.

  • @isamtator If you are going to go modern 30-06 i would highly suggest getting an adjustable gas plug.

  • @laddjm Exactly. I save the standard 30-06 for my 1903, and I'm saving the ball ammo for the M1.

  • @laddjm So what I heard held a grain of truth.

  • Good stuff

  • You guys as in the USA.

  • what about the 1917 enfields?

  • @aksuperhero Haven't seen CMP advertising any new lots. I'm looking for a 1917 right now.

  • also the sound of the ping is also the sound of you have an issue, as a WWII reenactor they know that sound well, and you best be quick on the reload

  • @Mopitz01 There were ways around that. Plus, the ping can be honestly hard to hear during the roar of battle.

  • Yeah, American icon designed by a Canadian-immigrant inventor.

  • @TheBigDead0ne Yep. Mr Garand is a Canadian that was working for the Springfield Armory at the time.

  • @millerusaf I know, love you guys, no homo. lol..

  • Drive by Camp Parry, Ohio every time I visit mom. I guess there's a lot of competitive activities there. You sure got a good looking rifle. Nice score!

  • great looking stock

  • Great condition rifle. Best of luck with it.

  • 8=====D

    Garand equals Nazi/Tojo rape.

  • Oh yeah need full range report and a long video from the range.

Does CMP sell the black tip ammo?

  • I'm so sorry you got one that spits out empty en bloc clips like that.

I hate to see a guy get a dud rifle so just send it to me and I'll sispose of it for you.

Just kidding and you know that. I really need to get off my ass and get one myself.

BTW word is Korea is "planning" on returning 600k? or 60k? M1s but as you know its and on again and off again deal.

Funny note, there was some concern about the M1 carbines as they had mags and were more dangerous!! Go figure?

  • @Fuzzy2u

The M1's are on their way back already. They WILL NOT be going to CMP.

  • 650$!? U lucky bastard. I didnt see the cosmoline as an issue btw.

  • @DudeNumberOnePlus

Nah, cosmoline is easy. Take everything apart put all the small parts in a bucket of boiling water. Pour boiling water down the barrel too, Clean it all up with new clean cloth diapers. Done! Takes a bit of time, but works well.

  • nice cant wait to see it shoot

  • WTF? I've never heard anyone say that the Garand style action is prone to failure from dirt or mud. Only a dip shit AK fanboy would say such a moronic thing. I'm jealous asshole.

  • I WILL own one of these beauties, soon.

  • I wish I had one of those.

  • No CMP clubs within a hundred miles of me.

  • Oh, Lord. It's orgasmic.

  • I saw a local rat grade for 1k here... it was even missing the front ring to hold the stock..

  • How was the airforce. i am think on joining as a security forces officer and wanna know i other people who are serving or have served. I am only 15 so i got a while to think still

  • @baracade777 The USAF is a great branch to serve in. Be sure to really figure out what you want to do, and go from there. Security Forces can be a stressful but rewarding career field.

  • @millerusaf alrite thanks. what are the odds of me seeing combat in security. i know greater than like admin. but i would like to grow up to see some grandchildren as well as serve my country.

  • @baracade777 You'll be alright. You still have lots of time to figure out what you want to do.

  • @millerusaf alrite. thanks so much again. and thank you for your service to the United States of America

  • @baracade777 you can go from what miller said, its your life. but in this day and age i think enlisting is the wrong thing to do. yeah the benefits are good but i see it as dishonorable doing what our military and government are doing around the world.

  • u got lucky! that is a fine service grade rifle, in fact just by seeing it thru video, probably one of the finest m1's i've seen.

  • I hate you sometimes...me jealous.

  • @metalhead2508 Join a marksmanship activity that is listed on the CMP website, save some money, and get one for yourself. :)

  • PING!

  • It is yours free? or what?

  • @TechSgtAdamsWrecks 650 dollars including shipping.

  • You had my "like" at the first frame.

  • nice

  • True American Craftsmanship Icon......Long Live Our Republic!!!!

  • Simply beautiful!
