  • just to let people know i saw another video on this and i used a paper cup and i just made 2 slits instead of a v and it looks soooooo cute and not as messy ^_^( with a paper vs up above i also used individual candies so i didnt need the lacey stuff i do like that idea though

  • This is a great easy idea... if you wanted, you could change the color of the shoe by spray painting, but if you do, make sure that you use a water based spray paint like Krylon H2O or the spray paint will eat the styrofoam.

  • Im hosting a baby shower soon, and I love this idea..thanks for sharing.

  • @I34able Thanks for watching

  • excellent idea and its cost effective....i was planning to buy some favours but now i will make these cute little booties......and i am sure people will appreciate it.....thanks :)

  • very cute!!!! I'm planning my cousin's baby shower for march and I think I may try this, but with the small blue paper cups! I love this thanks for sharing it's so creative!

  • @Charolais I hope they turn out well for you!

  • Cute ideal, I'm wondering how well it would work with a plastic disposable cups? It might be easier to work since the Styrofoam is a little fragile and the plastic cups come in different colours as well the dollar stores sells cheap also around Easter you can find the ligher pink and blue colours at least thats been my experience. I'll try it and let you know since my neice is having a little one in May. Thanks for the ideal; you're very clever I've watched some of your videos.

  • @phwebbie I think it would probably work with the plastic cups and you are right, they do come in different colours. It would be pretty inexpensive to buy a few and try it to see. Let me know!

  • @phwebbie the dollar store sells colorful paper cups. i am sure this would work just as well and maybe be easier to handle.

  • dats horrible 20 ppl dont like dis vid

  • @neelyaj123 That's okay, with almost 200k views so far, 20 isn't so bad, lol.

I have been turning of the ratings on my videos lately because I don't think they make much of a difference to people. What do you think?

  • 20 people are so dumb that they skipped to the end and didn't get to the joke (i get it it is cute!)

  • @magmagrocks Thanks!

  • Aww those are so cute. A friend of mine is in the hospital right now because she is having complications with her pregnancy but she is not due for a few months. I think I will make her one of these and fill it up with candy. I think she will like it.

  • @BlueSilence1985 What a great idea, I'm sure that she will appreciate it!

  • I made these for my babyshower. Took me a while cause I'm a perfectionist and I wouln't let anyone help me. I couldn't find The organza circles so I went to the dollar store and bought dark pink tissue paper and bought the same dark pink ribbon. It stood out so much and it looked beautiful. Wouldn't be able to do it if I hadn't came across your video. Thanks

  • @bonnieandspike I really do love to hear about people actually making these! I'm happy that they turned out well. :)

  • love it!!

  • that really is a cute idea! glad you decided to post it!

  • @KroppIllinois It is actually my most viewed video! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how popular it was. Like I mention in the video I wasn't really going to post it and then I said "what the heck" Glad I did.

  • CUTE....!

  • @LIZLIZLIZ25 Thanks much!

  • very nice!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @golosa1967 Thanks!

  • I would have loved to use this idea except the baby shower im throwing will be outside and a live in a windy city, even if i put something isndie it would still tip over :(

  • @tiggercrazy87 Even with something heavy like chocolate almonds in there?

I know what you mean though, styrofoam is very light.

  • The booties are so cute! I'm going to make them for our next baby shower. I did add some hole reinforcements (the kind you use on binder notebook paper) for more security. Thanks for the great idea!

  • @Finder233 The reinforcements are an excellent idea! thanks for letting me know you make these!

  • these are soooo cute and easy to make thank you! im going to do a small baby shower since im really in need of baby stuff :) but why spend tons of money for a big party when you need that for the baby you know lol

  • @therealgirljpunk I agree, why spend tons on decorations when all the money should go for baby stuff. :)

  • I made these for my baby shower on Sat. :) I saved even more money by making the mints that go inside each bootie. Thanks for this idea, it saved me tons! I showed my Mom and she loved them :)

  • @cristinalicia I bet people appreciated the homemade mints too!

Happy you enjoyed them and thanks for letting me know :)

  • Verry nice,

    Grts from Belgium

  • @lentebloemeke Thank-you! Hello from Canada :)

  • awwww i would love to have this for my future baby shower :D

  • @Nikki07734Mikki Thanks!

  • I made these for my bet friends baby shower about 50 of them everyone love the creativity of them I added little ribbons with miniture pacifires on the lace they turned out so adorable thank you for the wonderful idea and it saved me alot of money

  • @FloralsByLor Aren't they just the cutest when they are all together in a big group?

    :)

You are very welcome, I love hearing that people tried these and liked them. :)

  • Thank you so much for posting this. It's a great idea. I am planning a baby shower and i'm going to use this bootie idea. I think pink and blue M & M's would be great for the candy

  • @20Nov61 The pink and blue m&ms would be perfect! Hope the shower planning goes smoothly.

  • thank you for posting this! this is such a cute idea....and inexpensive :)

  • @AnnieSkivies I thought the same thing when I first saw them. Perfect for those on a budget. Spend that money on baby stuff instead. :)

  • yoyomax: I make diaper cakes as a hobby. I do not charge for my labor. They are required to only supply the diapers and $10.00 for the ribbons and decorations. I am going to use your booties as a topper on some of my cakes. I will send you a picture when I do one. See a couple of my cakes.

  • @Daizhakayln You make lovely diaper cakes! It would be nice to see the booties as a topper.

  • I came across this video(last night 5-18-2010) I am up this morning(3:30 am-5-19-10) making these. They are just beautiful. I made them with the foam and the dixie cups. Both turned out very pretty. I am known to my friends and family as Ms. Hobby because I try to come up with different hand-made crafts. I know they will be impress with these booties. Thanks so much for sharing this with us all.

  • @Daizhakayln Very happy you will get some use out of this video

  • I am sooo making some of these :).... funny Joke too!! thanks

  • @dahluvbug You are welcome, I'm sure you'll like them.

  • @dahluvbug Thanks! Happy you liked the idea.

  • I made these and they turned out SO cute---the difference being that I cut the entire rim off. It seemed to make them look a little better. I was careful to make sure my cuts were straight and even. With the tulle-bags with pink M&Ms, they'll be adorable for my daughter's baby shower next month!

  • @jekorb I would love to see how yours turned out! Thanks much for letting me know you tried them. :)

  • @yoyomax12 They came out SO well---I'll try and get one of my daughters to send a photo to you. I'm computer-illiterate (well, almost!). Thanks again so much for this idea--it saved us a lot of money, is original, and everyone will love them, I'm sure.

  • @ModernBabyShowers thanks!

  • Such a cute idea! Thanks for sharing.

  • @sanchezvega12 Glad you enjoyed it. :)

  • Cute as heck and soooooo simple! :0) Thanks for sharing your idea.

  • @flynhyn1990 You are welcome!

  • I also actually just thought of the idea if you make (or me for that matter bc i made a good bit like 60 HAHA i know i went crazy!!) but if you make more than you need or have extras you can always give them as a little gift for the dr/nurses at the hospital. They wouldnt expect it and I can guarantee most of the time all they get is someone SAYING thank you but no one ever really gives them anything!? could be an idea with extras!

  • That is a fantastic idea! Thanks for posting it, I'm sure others making these will appreciate it

  • love it . Thank you

  • You are welcome! Glad you like the idea

  • Hi I posted a video response to this video i hope you dont mind so people could get other ideas to do at their baby shower. Oh and I love this video

  • @yadiest Can you try posting the response again? There is nothing in my inbox to approve. This happens sometimes and I'm unable to approve them for some reason, some strange YT glitch.

    thanks!

  • haha love it HAHA i made 45 the other night HAHA i know but im going to make more just so i know that i will have enough even tho there prob arent gonna be that many but. it is sooo simple and so cheaply made. i actually calculated I got cups and ribbon and tulle and stuff all for it 6 bucks at the dollar store comes out to be like 13-15cents a favor. =) cute!!

  • Wow 15 cents each is fantastic. I'd never worked out the actual cost before.

If you have lots and lots of extras you can give pairs of booties away to each person!

Thanks for letting me know that you are making them!

  • That is such a fantastic idea!

Thanks for showing us how to make those!

I make collectable reborn dolls (life-like dolls) and I am always looking for cute crafts to stick in my packages to make my customers feel special. These are perfect!!

    Thanks!

  • Thanks! I appreciate the comment. :)

  • making these for my baby shower as we speak! they are lovely! (50 made already!)

  • Thanks so much for letting me know! It is appreciated.

    -Tammy

  • Adorable!

  • thanks!

  • Just to let your know my granddaughter arrived this a.m. 4 days late! 7lbs.9oz.201/2 in.long,Just beautiful A nice round head,no cone! Amethyst bring joy to my heart! I'm crashing as I have been awake since Sat. a.m. Thanks for the great bootie idea!

  • You are so sweet to let me know that she arrived! Congratulations Grandma!

  • thats is such an amazinggggg idea!!

  • Thanks! I wish I could say it was my original idea, but like I say in the video I saw them at someone else's baby shower and I thought "hey that is such an amazing idea!" lol.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • OMG I love this!! I am having my baby shower in January and I really dont want my mom spending alot of money so I am going to tell her for us to make these! Very cheap and beautiful!

  • People seem to think they are very original and cute. The money you save on materials on the booties lets you spend a little more on the goodies inside (ie. nice chocolates).

    Thanks for the comment. :)

  • Can't believe it's been 4 mos. since I visited this site. Great News! My grandbaby is a girl! I'm thrilled! Her name is Amethyst! Her shower is in 2 wks. I have been busy! Yesterday I made the diaper cake,w/a princess theme,it has a castle bank on top, plus tiaras, and her name spelled in crown letters. Now I am making these booties. I am using pink and hence her name,I'm also having purple. They are turning out really cute. Again thanks. We except 30 ppl. so could not afford much more.!

  • What a lovely name for a little girl!

I wish you luck with the shower. Sounds like you have put a lot of time and energy into it.

    :)

  • Just had to let you know our baby shower was today.Had a great turnout over 40+ ppl. Everyone LOVED the booties! They all thought I was very clever! But I said look on u-tube for directions! The diaper cake was very cute but we ended up forgetting it at the church hall.I only put out 30 booties and had to get the extras out. I didn't eat, very busy, Cooked 10 hrs. Fri. Am tired! The baby got so many cute and useful things! It was worth all the time and effort. Thanks for your great idea!

  • Thanks for letting me know how things went!

It really is amazing how a simple video and affect someone else's life so far away.

I'm sure all your efforts were appreciated! :)

(at least I hope they were) lol

  • it also looks very cute w/ the little paper dixie cups instead of the foam cups.

  • Never though of using the dixie cups, very good idea. :)

  • how cute. I love the idea. I'm going to make em for my babyshower!. It's a money saving favor! Thanks a bunch!

  • They are very cute and a money saver too!

You are welcome, I'm sure they'll turn out great

  • wow...how cute....thanks 4 puting the video....:)

  • You are welcome, glad you enjoyed it.

  • This absolutely an adorable idea for a baby shower favor. Inexpensive to make too. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • You are welcome. When I saw them at a cousin's baby shower I thought the same thing. They received very positive comments from the people at the shower.

  • Awesome! I love being crafty...

  • I also enjoy crafts, thanks!

  • Too cute!

  • Thanks for the comment

  • What a great video Tammy : )

  • Thanks!

  • Your so welcome....

  • buena idea! gracias. Lima Perú

  • You are welcome!

  • I'm having my 1st grandchild in Jan. I am so excited! Can't wait for the shower. These are so cute and seem easy to make and most of all inexpensive! I guess they can be made w/paper or plastic cups as well/ Would those be more durable? Thanks for a cute& sweet idea!

  • Congrats on your first grandbaby! Very exciting :)

You could try them with the plastic or paper cups, I don't see why it should make a difference to the craft. The plastic cups may be more durable but you'd have to be careful with the tongue of the shoe as the plastic might just rip down to the bottom of the cup when you push on it. Only one way to find out though! Give it a try....like you said, they are inexpensive :)

    Thanks for the comment.

    T.

  • Thank you again,I will try a few way ahead of time, and let you know the results. We are on a tight budget as my son lost his job and living here. Have gotten many new items at yard sales! So need to budget wisely! Thank for! sharing

  • AWESOME IDEA!!! My baby shower is in a month. And Im definitely showing this video to my sis (she's n charge of it). Very Simple and inexpensive! Luv It!!!

  • Glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you use the idea :)

    thanks for the comment.

  • Those are just too cute! I'll have to show this video to mother!

  • what a great idea i was lookiing for baby favors and i like that the easy to make .thank you for shering .

  • You are welcome.

They are easy (and relatively inexpensive) to make. Hope you try them.

  • that was great. thanks for adding

  • You are welcome! I appreciate the comment.

  • You can use any kind of disposable cup, you'd have to look around for one that would be "paintable"

    Thanks Cyndi!

  • cute

no more babies for me lol

but it might work as a modified ballet shoe if you painted the cup pink first

cute for xmas gifts at dancing

    thanks for sharing!

    cyndi

  • what is the measurement for booties for the lace.. b/c I'm going to be making 70+ of these and just want to make sure i have enough ribbon

  • I threw out the ones I had so I'm not sure!

Make one booty with the cup. Use a piece of string or yarn for the laces. I just eyeballed it, 12"???? Take it out and adjust if too short or too long, measure that piece and multiply it by 70, should be easy enough to figure out.

    Good luck.

  • How long were you in Canada and where (sorry I'm nosy about people like that)?

I've noticed that most of the showers I go to lately are for 2nd generation showers (I went to her mothers shower now her, lol)

  • Neat idea! They don't seem to do baby showers (or any kind of shower for that matter) here in the UK. I grew up going to showers in Canada and had a few held for me too when getting married and having my babies. I'll have to remember that craft and start a new trend over here! (lol) Jacquie (UK) x

  • So happy that you are going to do these!

    Please send me/post a photo.

I saw you in stickam last night addressing invitations, lol.

I hope all goes well with the party planning

  • that is a very cute idea, my mom loves that idea and i am going to do it for my sister in law baby shower so thanks for the video

  • Very good video! Very clever idea.

  • It was a clever idea, I don't know how people come up with these things!

  • Cool craft Tammy! LOL watchdog.

  • Thank you Daryl.

  • a watchdog LOL ;)

  • Thanks for watching these, Max is happy to see people like them.

  • thats really cute...i will remember this if i ever have or go to a baby shower...thanx for sharing hugs, annie xxx

  • Thanks Annie

  • How cute is that! How do these people come up with these ideas? I often go to craft markets/shows or art festivals and see things made from other things and think - I could do that, but of course I don't.. But it always amazes me at how they come up with the ideas. There are some very creative people out there and sadly, I'm not one of them!

    Great joke Max!!! haha

  • I am the kind of creative person that generally uses ideas that I have found. I am also amazed on how people can come up with these ideas.

  • That is way tooo cute. What a good idea :)

    :) :) good joke!

  • Max says thanks.

  • What a clever craft! Very cute. Max's joke may be his best yet. You sound very Minnesotan in this video - makes me miss the upper midwest.

  • lol @ Minnesotan! First time someone tells me that. I guess they are close enough to us (Canada) to sound like us, lol.

  • cool, and loved MAX joke of the day corner.

Loved seeing the campfire going too, perfect day for it, Hugs ta ya all

  • It was a perfect day for fire. Cool, no wind we had some nice family time (with some YT time for mom thrown in, lol)

    I appreciate your comments Lesli!

  • Okay, seriously, this is the cutest thing I have EVER seen!! If/when I go to another shower, these will definitely be done! :))

  • Very nice compliment indeed, especially from my craft guru, lol.

  • i love your crafting vids, my fave is the wand one

not that this one does not rock! how cute...

max's jokes are just the best, dont tell orion ;)

    xoexo

  • Thanks Eden.

I'm getting lots of views on the wand craft. I took me forever to edit that one.

So nice of you to comment!

  • aww that's a cute project! You are so creative!
