Jews do not believe in original sin, hence no need for a Christ. Christianity is the only religion that claims if you don't believe in Jesus you are damned. However there are over 33,000 denominations of Christianity so obviously they all don't believe exactly the same either.

My church taught me that even the ones who have never heard of Jesus will end up in Hell. Also, the Bible says that the blood of a damned person will be on the hands of any saved person who had the chance to tell that damned person about Jesus.

Its a beautiful prayer to say the least, but God takes back everything he has ever created, thus animals go there too. The other more poignant problem is the notion that it would be eternal. I can't imagine a person, a dynamic being, who would be exposed to this that wouldn't change as a result of it. The metaphorical fire should eventually warm their hearts.

In this state, you lose your genuine feelings of love for others, heart becomes cold.
You enter into the after life in this state, into the holy presence, you aren't going to eventually start loving others. You're going to start to hate more and more while you're in self agony.
I just don't see why this would be the case. Aside from postulating about the nature of "god's fire" or presence and what it would do to you... (I think it would heal anyone, you think it would hurt some forever). Loving oneself isn't incompatible with loving others. It's not either/or... there's plenty of love to go around.
In fact a little bit of love for yourself is healthy. If you don't take care of yourself to a certain extent you can't hope to help others.
There just seems to be a strained attempt to turn things into a win/lose zero-sum game. Could it not be possible that everything turns out alright, for everyone? That, just as in life, what happens in death becomes a learning experience as well? What if we learn to forgive ourselves as god would?

Not-good, would only imply not-1 or not-2. Ie NOT loving god and NOT loving others. This is explicitly the opposite. Citing two kinds of love as not sinful wouldn't mean that another kind is sinful, in fact it sets a trend to make it easy to assume all kinds of love are good.
Walking is in a sense, not loving others, because it's a different thing than it, but walking does not equal NOT-Loving.

I say there are lots of people. The problem with the theory that everyone has a self focused heart is that it's un-falsifiable.
Observe every action one makes, the bad actions support that theory obviously, the good actions we can twist around in an explanation of "they do it for praise from others" or if no ones around "they do it to feel good, themselves".

Jews do not believe in original sin, hence no need for a Christ. Christianity is the only religion that claims if you don't believe in Jesus you are damned. However there are over 33,000 denominations of Christianity so obviously they all don't believe exactly the same either.

My church taught me that even the ones who have never heard of Jesus will end up in Hell. Also, the Bible says that the blood of a damned person will be on the hands of any saved person who had the chance to tell that damned person about Jesus.
I think the Catholics believe that people who have good intentions, but believe in another faith, can enter Heaven.

If you do not believe me, just study the Words used that are eventually, translated into "hell".
They are FOUR DIFFERENT WORDS from TWO DIFFERENT languages. Sheol and Hades, mean the grave, Tatarus or Tataroos USED ONCE! And Gehenna, a trash dump outside of Jerusalem in the days of Jesus.
Not to mention in 1611 "hell" only meant "A covering". It is where we get our word "helmet" from.
Most bibles(realizing their mistake) are now, taking the word "hell" out!

Probably cause religious sorts take themselves way too seriously. And he's having fun...whatever.
Also, people that think that the end of the world is right around the corner tend not to take care of it... which tends to be a problem for those thinking this is the only world we got.

I think you grossly overestimate how long it takes to slap one of these 5 min things up here... and once every couple weeks? Come on now, I dedicate more time watching commercials.
Supposing that though...Wasting his time doing what he likes? Doing what makes people laugh and also think about the serious questions in life? Doesn't sound like a waste to me, sounds pretty damn good. I would only hope to have that sort of impact on people.

actually, its a funny thing about animals and souls and such. I found a prayer by St. Basil the "Great" specifically targeted on animals. Its a beautiful prayer to say the least, but God takes back everything he has ever created, thus animals go there too. Animals arent submitted to judgment as we are due to rational and irrational thought. We know whats right from wrong and animals dont (no matter how much you train your cat or dog) So seriously look it up, its a real comforting prayer to read

As for the pain, that's an awesome point.
It supports the way I explain hell.

Not bad...but, then there are sociopaths that don't really feel anything, which, could be the reason they do sick stuff like kill puppies.
Hell, some people probably get off on it. So what can you do if hell depends on you feeling guilt or not? ...or rather that feeling having to come from oneself instead of a god.

The only problems I have with that interpretation, is that they're already unfeeling so why would exposure to him do anything...though okay he is supposed to be omnipotent so I suppose he could get over that...but then.... along those lines why didn't he make them feeling to begin with?

The other more poignant problem is the notion that it would be eternal. I can't imagine a person, a dynamic being, who would be exposed to this that wouldn't change as a result of it. The metaphorical fire should eventually warm their hearts.
We are talking about an infinity here, people change their ways in a matter of years, let alone thousands and thousands of years.

If you understand like I do, it is to love yourself in place of everyone else, it's to do something that is self centered.
In this state, you lose your genuine feelings of love for others, heart becomes cold.
You enter into the after life in this state, into the holy presence, you aren't going to eventually start loving others. You're going to start to hate more and more while you're in self agony.

I just don't see why this would be the case. Aside from postulating about the nature of "god's fire" or presence and what it would do to you... (I think it would heal anyone, you think it would hurt some forever). Loving oneself isn't incompatible with loving others. It's not either/or... there's plenty of love to go around.
In fact a little bit of love for yourself is healthy. If you don't take care of yourself to a certain extent you can't hope to help others.

There just seems to be a strained attempt to turn things into a win/lose zero-sum game. Could it not be possible that everything turns out alright, for everyone? That, just as in life, what happens in death becomes a learning experience as well? What if we learn to forgive ourselves as god would?
Instead of holding ourselves to an impossible ideal, going "You know what, beating yourself up about it isn't gonna get anything done, we're all human, just resolve to do better, and learn from it".

Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it might warrant recognition.
The interesting thing I find in all this, supposing things are how you described, one's religion doesn't matter... as long as one honestly tries to be a good person, and has a good heart.... who cares about specific belief eh? :)

It's very Scriptural.
Jesus says, out of all the commandments ther are 2 that are greater, if you obey these two, you will be obey all the rest.
1) Love God.
2) Love others.
Which leaves only one option for sin. Loving yourself.
If you love other people than yourself, you won't commit adultery.
Committing adultery, and every other sin is loving yourself and neglecting someone else.
It's very scripturally correct.

That doesn't follow at all though. That 1 and 2 are good, doesn't mean that thing "3" isn't good.
Not-good, would only imply not-1 or not-2. Ie NOT loving god and NOT loving others. This is explicitly the opposite. Citing two kinds of love as not sinful wouldn't mean that another kind is sinful, in fact it sets a trend to make it easy to assume all kinds of love are good.
Walking is in a sense, not loving others, because it's a different thing than it, but walking does not equal NOT-Loving.

Except for one, One who was born with the spirit of God inside him.
Who knew his purpose and desired his purpose to give up his freedom, so that he could share that spirit with us.
The only way to supernaturally change is with that spirit of love and truth.

I say there are lots of people. The problem with the theory that everyone has a self focused heart is that it's un-falsifiable.
Observe every action one makes, the bad actions support that theory obviously, the good actions we can twist around in an explanation of "they do it for praise from others" or if no ones around "they do it to feel good, themselves".
Tinted lens makes everything seem tinted...or "tainted".
You can't look in the minds of others and see their true intent.

And that's the ultimate contrast, the atheist believes it can happen (love) without god. Nothing against him,he just doesn't exist. And observationally, atheists xp love just as any.
I, personally (not speaking for all atheists) also don't buy that we always, or even often maybe, act from self-focus. We're very complex. We sometimes simply do things out of habit, sometimes because we follow models of others we grew up around; no feelings, no pain/pleasure just an ease in where our thoughts go.

To not create is for God to not exist.
Like I said, the only thing different is the heart of the individual, God never changes being holy and just.
One who is self-focussed is a crime to one God loves.
He can't change that zeal, that love. Even if it's someone he loves that committed a crime against someone he loves.
In hell, or should I say in heaven, when a sinner enters into heaven, the caring love will be hell to him. His heart will not be compatible with God's heart.

Anyway, the trouble with self -love or self focus being a crime, that doesn't fit with Matthew 22:37 which essentially says Love others as you love yourself. If it was criminal he wouldn't want s to love ourselves at all, which then means we shouldn't love others at all, which makes its ridiculous.
To your last line, I simply don't believe that, all life experience shows that love is healing.

Wondering though, the picture of us always acting from self-interest, (or self-focus) doesn't seem to be one of free will. Either we can act other ways, or there isn't free will in any meaningful sense.
And about its unfalsifiability, imagine the problem ingrained if we applied the same theory to acts of god. The same logic could say that "every act of god was done for his own self interest, disprove it".
(Making things worse, in the bible he commands us to love him and worship only him...)

It is free will, for even if we were to love without us desiring to, that still is love.
To sacrifice our greater desires for love isn't sin.
It's hard to do, but we all have the ability to do it.
He did create us to want things, but the right things. The things that won't neglect others.
Like loving a God who will love others.
What I'm saying is having a desire isn't necessarily sin, why are we programmed with it? But what we use it on can be sin.

So do we or don't we always act from self-interest? If we do, we always have that formula guiding our actions, and following a formula is not acting freely. We need to be able to determine and move between formulas and motivations to action.
Being created to want specific things is also like programming a robot, no matter if it's the right things or not, it's still robbing free will. One should be able to determine ones own wants.

you can have love for others without worshiping fictional things...The mind doesnt have to require a set standard of belief systems in place to get you to express love and care for other people.you can worship nature for example, which allways has more things to learn constantly and the books are endless, and they continue to produce more material as time goes along.Nature is a beautiful thing and creates happiness to the mind and a sence of self actualisation can be achieved through it

Yes you can worship nature. You can worship anything.
But God is the only one who is the everlasting stream, which gives you 10times fold the love you give to him.

You can't just put people in a box and assume everyone is the same. Because when they aren't you waste a whole lot of time assuming.
If you focus on nature, you can't focus on people genuinely, you can't love them sincerely, you'd basically be putting them in a box of nature and treating them and caring about them like test tubes. The love would be on their nature, not on them.
