  • Fuckin billy bob thornton paints ! i love this guy !

  • Can I just please say this.. Thank you SO much!! :) And it works!

  • what is the difference of mixing the flake in a Clear Inter coat?

Good Job and thanks pete for showing us this great videos,!

  • @demencialchico The difference from mixing the flake is an Inter-Coat rather then the Clear itself, is that the Intercoat Sealer drys within a few hours and you can wetsand it down to make it smooth, where as Clearcoat, you would have to wait overnight to do so. Flake rises to the top and will leave a rough surface if not wetsanded down properly then recleared .. Pete

  • 5 Stars short Movie

  • You are the F'n MAN Pete!! Thanks!!

  • What about spraying a silver flake and using a candy to give it color? Will that make it look "deeper" or maybe a nicer finish?

  • I like ur style bruh, keepup tha info very much useful!!!!!

  • Thanks Pete. You're a hard ass!

  • thank u PETE flake is a good thing they can c u coming a mile away and the natives twist there heads to look cuz u DON'T c metealflake everyday. they think the circus is comimg to town and i am the ring leader--u know

  • @wildeyednorthernboy Your the only metalflake king in my town.. when the circus arrives the ring leader will be hoopin and holleran...

  • this video was for me!...thanks pete

  • good job pete but im wondering something here...ok what im wondering is can you mix the metal flake in a non metallic/metallic paint and then clear it? or is it better to do this method your showing us ive seen it done before but was not sure how either one would come out i really like the way your doing it looks awesome

  • @blazerlover25 you have to put the base down first, then the flake on top, if you mix the flake in the paint, it will get lost and won't see it. flake is made to put on top of the paint, not mix in.. In the old days, they used to put flake in paint, called metallic, now a days they use pearl--much better--Im not really a metal flake kind of guy..

  • Man, that thing is sparkling like crazy. Thanks for all the good tips.

  • nice way to make an old clunker look good.

  • well ke$ha wanted to cover the world in glitter....you beat her up loll

  • wonder how a Troybilt lawnmower would look with green metal flake (G)

  • @mckinzi1 just mow some lawns right after a good rain storm and let the wet grass saturate it.. That way it's a free green paint job..

  • @swrnc heheh....hit a stump and get all kinda metal flake

  • Wow that was a sparkle-a-thon! It looked like my uncles speed boat! Good tips pete! I wondered how that is done! Thank you.

  • @DukeNukem65 Bass Boat all the way on this one. for sure for sure!

  • that would be PERFECT for VW Steve's car. LMAO Should've painted his shroud that color

  • Hey pete is the color blend the same as intercoate clear

  • @wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwest yes it is

  • @wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwest Yeah, It's the same stuff. Thanks Pete

  • I love to take old paint and mix shit up to paint race cars. Thats what happens to old paint at the shop. I mix somthing up wild, and paint the car. I always have a little left. Then i give it to them when its done and lol and say naw dont wreck it cause it wont match lol. We have done easy marbalize jobs on race cars 2 tone. lay silver down and over reduce the 2nd color and put on wet and dab with plastic seranwrap. do 1 ft section at a time. I may talk him into flake on a race car for next year

  • @woodzo40 Sounds like the ole school house of color marbleizer trick. Don't suppose they sell much of that stuff anymore, it didn't really work that will in the first place.. Pete

  • @swrnc The paint guy told me they have paint for that..I use any kind of paint. U know haw base dries so fast. Well you turn your gun down to about 10 psi. spray it on so wet that it just about runs and start to dab at it with plastic. Its a bitch to cover up with clear cause it makes the base so ruff. My friend showed me haw to do it. I was shocked it was so easy. I dont like it,to me its ugly. People go nuts over it when they see it.Its ok when you just do it on a small area, not the hole car

  • @woodzo40 sounds cool man, also sounds fun

  • @woodzo40 That's a great way to try out new methods. We've experimented on lawn mowers, old motorcycles, etc too.

  • @RamblinAround Thats cool. I saw a concourse 55 Nomad at the World of wheels. This doesnt sound good but it was nice looking. He painted inside the trim silver and took a oxy acetaline tourch, and put black strings in it from the tourch. I always wanted to do that on somthing but never did.Would look neat on a silver gas tank, and then flame it.

  • @woodzo40 Id like to see that done, a matter of fact--- I think My Friend Pete just might make a video of a test panel and see how it turns out.. Paint and a Torch--sounds like a good combo..

  • @woodzo40 I believe that method is used to make painted woodgrain also.

  • I would like to mention .... YOu don't have to use mass quanitys of flake, This video was made this way so the viewer could see the flake applied to panel. Normally metal flake would be applied at a less rate and quanity then as seen here. Thanks Pete

  • Pete, nice video! That panel is shining like new money!!

  • @ILUVIVGODII Yeah--To bad I couldn't spray money out of my gun.. That would be really nice.....

  • Hi Pete, thanks a lot for your very interesting videos! I love to follow your projects and experiments and learned a lot about adding metalflakes on a surface. Kind regards from Berlin, Germany ... Tobias ...

  • @Preluzifer When you apply metal flake,, YOU DON"T HAVE TO USE as much as I did. I just did it that way so you could see it in the video... Thanks for the comment. Pete

  • are useing the sata guns

  • @i4doorimpala Yes I do use sata guns, on certin stuff, in this case putting the glitter on very thick as you seen in the video, a sata gun would not work, the metal flake has to be moving all the time for it to go on at this magnatude... Pete

  • Awesome pete, job well done.

  • @turfboy Thanks for the comment. Pete

  • "his" 300ZX

    sorry

  • Hey mate looks good!!

A friend of mine had 300ZX painted in this. Down here its called "Shimmer"

looks brilliant but he painted his car in gold shimmer. it made the car look plastic.. I seen another can done in silver shimmer and it looked awesome...

Have you ever done a Harlequin paint job before?

  • @RAJSTA81 Yeah,, The harlequin paint is very expensive, and doesn't last. After a few years it loses it's luster, unless it's a show queen and never see day light or weather. The name of house of color flake is "Shimmer" I believe!

  • Thanks pete! this was really cool.
