  • if only it was english

  • Somebody's done an English translation of this, but it's not very good.

It sounds like they understand German but don't understand engines, so it isn't really a commentary, just a translation of the the words.

If I find time I may try it myself!!

  • WTF

  • on felix motor there was a ring outside the camber so the engine you se here was running with a 3 of the outside, hmm was that rigth.

anyway it's produces a lot more power

  • nsu wit hkkm

  • germans with german stuff deutschland, maybe even west german..

  • 2007 Diesel Power Challenge Drags

  • Great, thorough video showing AND explaining in detail the advantages of the Wankel rotary. Thanks for posting! The car featured is an NSU Ro80. Audi bought NSU. That car, produced in the late 1960's and early 1970's is roughly the same as an A4 FWD. Unfortunately, all automotive rotaries had dreadful longevity until Mazda solved the problems in 1976/1977. By then, all other auto manufacturers had ceased Wankel production and most research.

  • what's the song in the end called?

  • great video, is there an english version that i can understand. The basic concept is understandable, just be better if i could understand what was being said. thank you

  • Those diagrams and animations are so good I don't think understanding German is necessary!

Read a bit in English on Wiki, then come back and watch this meisterwerk again!

  • And of course it has almost not vibrations , its a lot more lighter than Ottos and being compact can be keep near the car center so improves weight distribution

  • -Pros: Incredible compact, much less mobile pieces, can rev really high, they only need to be helf or less the cc of an Otto to produce same power. Power is more linear.

-Cons: High termical diferences between the engine walls.Burns a lot of oil, its fuel consumption is too high, more "user" dependant to run fine and more expensive to repair (due to being little used to begin with)

  • Depends on how you abuse your rotar. :)

  • i hate when people say things like that... my 86' has over 190k mi and still runs like a champ...

  • Made 159k on my turbo motor. That was with a lot of use.

  • That is a wonderful video that shows how all engines should be built.

  • No way, I dont want rebuilding my engine every 1000 miles

  • I would say with a response like that you never actually owned one. I got 148,000mi on my original engine and its still good.
