recirculating Bov's are really common now, Hks are doing one which is amazing, will set you back maybe £280 but really worth it,

I agree wastegates and BOV's are similar, but wastegates vent the boost thats created more than what has been set (to prevent engine/turbo failure)

BOV's get rid of ALL boost pressure after the gas pedal is released.

There's another type of valve that recirculates the boost, to keep from having the turbo lag in the next gear to spool up the turbo, since it's just re-using what it already has; it's basically a recycler, but not many like it since it doesn't have that loud sound.

According to ill2161, they are- they're the same thing, just placed differently- before or after the turbo.

A wastegate is a valve that diverts exhaust gases away from the turbine wheel in a turbocharged engine system.

and a blow off valve is what releases the built up pressure of the turbo when you take your foot off the gas, because then the air has no where to go, and it prevents compressor surge to reduce wear on the engine.
