I like Chinese people, many of them r so nice, but I don't don't like if they forced Tibetans to learn Chinese in stead of learning Tibetan, Tibetan need Chinese but It is not fair to reduce Tibetan course in Tibet. "Chinese" is a grossly simplified term. Many languages under "Chinese" are unintelligible. "Chinese" is like "Germanic". Mandarin is like English. Cantonese is like German. Shanghaiese is like Swedish...

Anyhow, Beijing should just allow schools to teach in their local LANGUAGES and teach Mandarin as secondary language. What Beijing doing now is wiping out the roots of everyone (except Northern Chinese).

"Chinese" is just an umbrella term. Do you remember Cantonese protest for their language? Beijing and Northern Chinese call Cantonese a dialect of Mandarin. However, Cantonese and Mandarin are unintelligible and Cantonese has grammatical differences with Mandarin. Migrants in Cantonese also refuse to learn Cantonese and schools start to teach in Mandarin earlier and earlier. Beijing and Northern Chinese don't respect linguistic rights at all.

Since when is Qinghai part of Tibet? There is over 20 ethnic groups there and before 1950 Qinghai was ruled by Hui ethnic group(Muslims). Last time Tibetans ruled over Qinghai was probably 1000 years ago.

It's not even close to being the same. English is not the official language of all public schools in America; it is a matter of choice. There are public schools that teach in Spanish, French, Russian, Native American languages...it is up to the parent. No child is forced to study in English. That is the difference.
