IMHO this movie does not compare to the Notebook, not even close. It is poorly written. The story line is very unrealistic but I have not read the book. I am just commenting about the movie. It came across as a low budget movie. Probably paid Gere too much and couldn't afford good supporting actors. Very disappointed...

The ending to this REALLY sucked. I loved the rest but the end broke my heart and yes, I was one of those women in the theater crying my eyes out.
