Had this case for some time now, and I can say that it is worth every penny ($200 or so). It is quiet (when idle I can't tell if its on or off), large (gtx 570 fits fine), runs cool, looks great and pleasant to the tough. I am actually buying another one for future builds. Oh yea it does have 3 dust filters, 2 on the button and one on the rear (I vacuum them once a week ; )
I looked at Hafs and didn't like them (too plasticy for my taste)
It has removable dust filters on the bottom for the PSU and the intake fan on the bottom front. The mesh plates on the front also have filters built in that you can rinse with water. I love my case. It's been really good
The NZXT Phantom Full Tower is moutch better cheaper lighter easyer to handle and have moutsh better ventelation i don't se ANY reason to buy this heavy shitload of krap
Some people still consider buying it , but Cooler Master is changing this to the HAF X , Read the freaking description before talking about hardware in the future
@meh121 Please think for a bit before posting really stupid shit on youtube. The guy in the vid is most likely American. The origin of the english language doesn't change the fact that it is pronounced Aluminum in America. EarlzMoade made his post pretty much asking why is the guy saying Aluminum as opposed to aluminium. I told him the simple fact, no flaming, no being rude and no being a sarcastic prick with a major superiority complex and the inability to process a fucking simple sentence.
@esqueue Hahahaha, you take things way too seriously, you really should get laid ;), stop writing essays on youtube and go outside for once. Trust me, it's worth it!
I am a little confused, this case only have a intake fan at the bottom, just like Corsair Obsidian 800D. But Corsiars case got really high temperatures and got alot of negative critic for not having a sidefan. The intake fan at Corsairs case is 140mm and runs at 900rpm while the bottom fan at the Cooler Master is 120mm and runs at 1200rpm. So is the Cosmos bottom case fan better? I mean it rotares faster but is smaller. Or is it becuse the Cosmos includes two 120mm fans at the top?
just curious but does the acoustic foam conduct heat? also the opening on the bottom for the PSU fan to draw in air from outside the case i was wondering if a corsair tx 750w can be installed with out any alignment issues. im asking this reason being, i've gone through a couple case's that doesn't align with this particular psu
um.. the power supply location seems to have a placement thingy there. So only certain sized psu can fit in? Wat size must the PSU be in order to fit in that case?
Serious question. What are drive bays for? Do they include the hard disk as well? If its only for the optical drive why would anyone want to have seven dvd players?
@kidowner THanks. I didn't mean to ask whether they come with hard disks lol. I meant is that where you mount them. So what does an expansion board do? Thanks again and bear with my stupidity.
@MrJackanthony hey no problems..i can see ur just a newbie on these stuff and need some help..
yes the internal drive bays are for hdd.. the outside ones are for optical drives, etc
the expension boards.. u mean at the back? well those are for before putting a videocard, soundcard, network card, etc. u have to remove them so u put that one instead and install them with either a thumb screw, normal screw, or a tooless installment(depending on the type of case.. as it comes with either of those)
@kidowner lol sorry. Hw about adult owner then:) See Im trying to build a gaming pc since its common sense that you'll get more for the money that way. Im actually not a complete noob mut Im more geared to software. Heres a question do you think ssds are worth it? or should I go with a standard hard drive and spend the extra on something else?
well most guys say that ssd's arent worthy of buying since they have such little improvement for all that money. personally if u set ur ssd to boot drive and for some major applications is good. i suggest getting the OCZ vertex which is one of the best bang for buck ssd..they are about 100euro..thats if u can afford buying a 100euro drive :p
@kidowner I see. Well Ill look into it. most kingston and intel ssds are around $500. I was also thinking of etting a 10k rpm drive. apparently they are fast too.(At least more than the 7200)
@MrJackanthony well.. if u get ssd.(no need 128GB ones. 30GB is enough for windows and some applications.. well 10k rpm drives are also good. but if u do for example 2 caviar blacks sata 3(not sata2) in raid 0, u will spend less money and gets u more bang for buck.. the options are urs tho
@MrJackanthony but! if u only intend of getting one drive then i suggest only a hdd, if u go ssd and hdd then do the hdd for games etc..while ssd for boot and some major applications
@BLACKOUT319 Omg me too im TORN in which to decide. What i like about the 1000 is hard drive bays and feel of it. The Cosmos S has a more Gamer badass look and a lot more airflow with the 200 mm fan sadly though they got rid of the cool hard drive bays cosmos S and replaced them with crappy ones.
@Xfacehack This case can accommodate the largest graphic cards that are out now. The latest most bad ass cards are 11 inches long. This case can handle a 15 inch or less card.
I've had this case two years. It's a very nice case!
So i got a question, can u do 2x 120 mm fans mounted right there on the video and put 2x 140 mm fans above the case? Like so it can do a push pull configuration? Does anyone get what i am saying?
No i mean the top fan are 120mm right? So is it possible that we can put up to 4 fans that same area. 2x 120 mm fans as shown in the video and put 2x 140mm as well in that same area but above the case where they have the cover thing on.
I know you can mount a water cooling radiator at the inside top of the cosmos s 1100 case, but can you mount a water cooling radiator at the inside top of the cosmos 1000? please respond
The handles are insanely sturdy but don't expect to take this case to too many LAN parties. It will garner a lot of attention from your jealous friends though... ^_^
Sorry if I was too vague when I said that you WOULDN'T be taking it to too many LANs, but yes is very annoying to carry around. I'm afraid to even put it on my kitchen table when I have to open the case and fiddle with it's innards! It's that heavy.
2) I found that leaving the side panel just a crack open will intake air improving air-flow. I have nothing but 120mm Antec Tri-Speed fans all set to high in every bay on this case and it will still get hot with SLI or Crossfire configurations when running an intensive game for more than an hour or so. Ambient temps drop 10c when I crack open the side!
3) The sound of those fans IS indeed silenced by this case. I have the standard side panels, and my ceiling fan is louder than this thing LOL.
I am getting this case and just wondered, when gaming with a Heat Sink, would it be good to open the side panel for better ventilation or would that not make any difference?
Having the side panel open would actually make ventilation worse. The case uses negative pressure to cool, and removing the side panel would stop air flow to the components
They're very different cases, the 902 is a mid tower so it's alot smaller aswell. Cooling is better than the cosmos because it's more geared towards gaming though it is quite crowded
Cooling isn't better because it's geared toward gaming, it's better because the Antec has more, faster fans than the Cosmos, including the Antec BigBoy fan.
Also, the Antec doesn't have as much room to push air through, so the fans don't need to be as strong. Where the Cosmos shines is its ability for water cooling.
Gaming has nothing to do with the amount of fans... Antec didn't make the cooling better because it's geared purely at gaming - it's an enthusiast's case; not purely for use for gamers, people who have workstation rigs, etc., would make great use of this case.
Except that it's marketed as the 'ultimate gamers case' and it has the extra vga fan slots becasue it is assumed that people who buy it will be using large gpu's. How is that not why it has superior airflow?
My only complaints are the weak stock fans, weight (HEAVY), and the weak magnet for the panel in front.
The cable management isn't an issue if you have a lot of zip-ties and don't route anything through the hole above the mobo as seen at 4:00. The only thing that fits there is excess fan wire. I used the 2 holes on the side to hide extra molex and the hole underneath was used for pci-e power cables and misc cables I don't use.
CFM is most likely in the realm of 30-35 from what I can tell in comparison to my other fans. DB, i don't know, but they are too loud considering they don't move enough air for this case. RPM tops out at 1800-2000.
All in all, you're going to NEED new fans. This is NOT a suggestion. This is fact. I recommend 2 - 120mm Antec TriCool fans for the top panel and one for the rear exhaust. As for the intake fans, the stock are okay but if you're not considering putting in any extra video cards.
At 6:05 he sounds like Bill Cosby

1. IT DOES have direct Hard Drive Cooling if you install the optional HD fan.
2. It's TOO LARGE to make out of Aluminum. Steel if far better and prevents case tweaking and cracked motherboards, etc when moving it.

exactly, it's an all-black 1000, check it out in their site, not the coolermaster-usa, but the coolermaster global site.

which 1 has better cooling??
antec 902 or this???
whlzdenis 2 years ago
The Antec 902 But the Antec 1200 is alot better hope this helps
djscooby 2 years ago
They're very different cases, the 902 is a mid tower so it's alot smaller aswell. Cooling is better than the cosmos because it's more geared towards gaming though it is quite crowded
manarfd 2 years ago
Cooling isn't better because it's geared toward gaming, it's better because the Antec has more, faster fans than the Cosmos, including the Antec BigBoy fan.
Also, the Antec doesn't have as much room to push air through, so the fans don't need to be as strong. Where the Cosmos shines is its ability for water cooling.

It has more/faster fans because it is geared towards gaming, what's the point in your statement.
manarfd 2 years ago
Gaming has nothing to do with the amount of fans... Antec didn't make the cooling better because it's geared purely at gaming - it's an enthusiast's case; not purely for use for gamers, people who have workstation rigs, etc., would make great use of this case.
meticadpa 2 years ago
Except that it's marketed as the 'ultimate gamers case' and it has the extra vga fan slots becasue it is assumed that people who buy it will be using large gpu's. How is that not why it has superior airflow?

He did in all his old videos. He kind of went professional (and high quality) now, so he doesn't in his new vids.

I love it when he says "Listen to the stock cooling" Click...no sound.

Do you know the CFM, DB, and RPM stats for the stock fans?
WildcardHatesYou 2 years ago
CFM is most likely in the realm of 30-35 from what I can tell in comparison to my other fans. DB, i don't know, but they are too loud considering they don't move enough air for this case. RPM tops out at 1800-2000.
All in all, you're going to NEED new fans. This is NOT a suggestion. This is fact. I recommend 2 - 120mm Antec TriCool fans for the top panel and one for the rear exhaust. As for the intake fans, the stock are okay but if you're not considering putting in any extra video cards.
