The thing that makes these guys great really is the gear. Playing Bad or Pride with a les paul through a fender amp isnt gonna get that Strat into AC 30 tone. I think the guitar is the biggest thing though cause hes not using an AC 30 but it still sounds good. I use AC 30 modeling and it almost sounds like its there but its just missing that Strat sound.

Ive been listening to u2 songs since 1981,and Ive heard all of the covers on youtube. Being a guitar player myself, and understanding how hard Edges style is to play, you hands down are the best on Youtube! Alot of people viewing need to realize the years of grueling practice to achieve what you have!

Hey - do you use Herdim picks? I find that when I try and use them the pick gets caught on the E, B and G string when I play with the pick upside down like the Edge.

Yes your right! It does sound like the album version,I think Edge might have used the bridge pickup for that song!

Actually for the album version the Edge used his les paul custom. But yes, the bridge pickup does sound a lot like the treble setting on a les paul custom as well.

Even got the 11,12, 14 down on the high "E" too. Nice one. If you could get a better sound recording quality your vids would be soooo much better. Often sounds like to too much echo but that could be overmodulation to the mike.

To my ear, it sounds like Sherm is using 7-8 repeats which is more thsn edge uses. I believe Edge uses 3-4 repeats at most. However,Sherms sound is so sweet in this video who can really argue the settings? I do find it hard to believe that this sound comes from a Fender Pro amp and Digitech rp series effects system as claimed. I would love to know how to create this sound without the axe fx, korg sdd 3000, tc 2290.
