I'm American, and I'm not old enough to drive yet, but I find it so confusing how you can be an adult, with a job, and get around WITHOUT a car. I mean, some of the older kids at my school have cars already.
@masteraj57 Lots of people do it--and I mean people with money, too. U.S. is very spread out and most of it doesn't have a great transport system...but if you live in NYC or London or other big cities with great transport, having a car is more trouble than its worth.
The empty child and the doctor dances were scary, but the banter going on between the doctor and Jack made them some of my favorite episodes. But I'm amazed he can drive that well so quickly, I would probably do worse than Billie and spin off if I was on that track.
Chris will always be 'my doctor'. :) I love David and i like Matt, but...I don't really know, i guess because he was the first doctor i ever saw.... You know?
@jenniferlynnashe I knew before I even went to your channel that you were from the U.S, I see these comments all the time. Over here in England, we don't get offended by the slightest remark. We make jokes about terrorism, religion and other taboo subjects without getting persecuted. In this interview, there is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary with regards to British media, they're just playing off each other. Have no idea why you'd think he mistreated Ecclestone.
@OSXHD yes i am from the U.S. and i'm very proud of it. but thank you for explaining that this is a normal thing that you guys see. at least i know now that this is ok where you live. thanks :)
@jenniferlynnashe I don't think there's such a thing as an American that isn't sickeningly proud and patriotic, but there ya go. It's considered acceptable in many places, especially in Western Europe. Yet again, astounding American ignorance at its finest.
@jenniferlynnashe I know that not all of them are, but most nonetheless. It's not even your fault half the time, your media shuts you off from the outside world, as does your education system. You're only taught about American history, American geography etc. I've met some Americans as a matter of fact that haven't even heard of some countries, and I'm not talking about the likes of Eritrea or Myanmar.
@OSXHD I'm american. Well mexican american and to be honest the patriotism in this country is so incredibly low. well it is mostly located in the south, racist and backwater hicks. i know not all people from the south are what i just stated but its the ones that stand that make people think they are all hicks. See the thing is that by me saying that the south has lots of white trash, it is the same as you saying most the USA population is sickenly proud and patriotic.
@Lcavila94 That's just the impression I get from the Americans I know, the media coverage (not just the south, I've seen plenty of videos of mobs chanting "USA USA" over and over like some rabble of primates) and other such influences. The average American is more patriotic than most.
I don't understand why under every single video of Chris out here, most of the comments are about Doctor Who, David Tennant and such. i mean, CE is MY Doctor, my absolute favourite out of all 11 of them - yes people, 11 of them not the latest 3, and still it annoys me seeing that all people can say is "ah Tennant was better", "ah i miss him as the doctor" and such.
And it annoys him too, you know?
He is a BRILLIANT actor, a wonderful person, a fantastic artist - not just the Ninth Doctor.
@MoyashiFukadai Okay, so I was wrong. I thought that David Tennant's time was worse than Eccleston's, and I appologize for the faux pas. Desole, DT fangirls of fellow. I now know that 1:48.8 is better than 1:52.4.
And I would like to add, that I love all of you people who wrote nice things about him: I thought I was the only one who prefers The Ninth above any other Doctor. Thank you people, really! <3
@Amphata I actually started watching the show three days ago, but first watched S5E1 (Matt Smith), and then saw all of season 1, and then almost done with season 2, so I've seen those three and I really really love Christopher, even though all the doctors are funny and unique in their own ways, he had a certain flare that I really miss!
@silentxinsanityy I completely understand how you feel. :D I actually started with Chris, passed by David and finally reached Matt: they are all brilliant and awesome Doctors (now I only need to watch the very first seasons of the show :D).
But the Ninth has got something, what can we call it, something between funny and dark: something that makes you decide that you like his smile a lot, but also that you will shut up and listen to him and do what he says. :D
Eccleston was my first doctor and I could remember adoring him when I was like 10/11 years old, and when he 'died' I thought Tennant was going to be shit, (but obviously I was proved wrong there :D) but IMHO christopher should have done another year!! I mean, have you seen him do anything else? Reading these comments have started to make me think that he does deserve more recongition, he was the guy that bought it back to the 2000s right? <3 you 9th!! :)
Chris was my second doctor. I watched the series out of order I first watched the second season through the fourth then the first season and finally finished up with the fifth and the sixth Chris was a great dr and he deffinatly set the character up enough for david. David was amazing as the doctor and I really enjoy Matt but my dr will always be David because he was my first dr and he was what had me watching the show.
@ninman58 Yorkshire might look like it's in the middle of Britain but that's including Scotland. "The North" means the north of ENGLAND. Basically, everyone in England considers Manchester (where Ecclestone's from) and Yorkshire as part of "the north".
Jeremy darling, have you ever even watched Doctor Who? Because that is just the name of the show, he is not actually called that way, just The Doctor!
@thephinnaeus Actually, if you'll look in the credits on the old show, as well as some of Tennant's credits, he's listed as "doctor who." It's a culture thing. It can be either way.
Did anyone else notice that Christopher looked a bit iritated when the interviewer referred to him as The Doctor, or was it just me? Or maybe he was mad that he called him "Doctor Who"?
@manny9429 Seriously? You've been missing out on some great stuff. You should get back into it. Try to watch the show with an open mind. You can't let the choice of an actor completely ruin the show for you. The writing has been great.
@CamilleonProductions okay, maybe I'm just dumb or maybe it's a regional thing but I still don't get that last bit. I thought he said "I wouldn't give a door a bank." Which really doesn't even make sense either. But thanks for trying. :-)
i wonder why he didnt like being in dr who, still i think in the long run he's made a good call to leave so soon because his career is still as succesful as it was before, lets hope it'll be the same for david tennant coz i have no idea what else he's been in since dr who
@jhibbitt1 I think he was just wanting to do it for 1 season. I haven't heard or read anything about him saying that he didnt' like playing The Doctor, but he's been on stage, in various shows or mini-series, and a few movies since he left DW.
Where did get Matt ? He doesn't have that look.. Is it just me-or does he look way too old for his age ? It doesn't look good.. They gotta get him to grow a beard..
I love it when he said he got interviewed during Gone in 60 seconds, and was asked what car he drives, and he said "I don't drive", and the interviewer physically backed away from him. LOL.
I had a friend who experienced something similar when he was in school and his parents didn't own a car. People treated him like he had the plague or something.
I totally agree, he´s so Mmmmmmmmmm with that "space fungus", the accent and, more than anything else, the sincere smile. He´s got the best "doctor grin" ever.
@NoOtherNamesWereLeft Thing is Tennant is far more associated with Dr Who (of course he did it a lot longer) whereas Eccleston was famous before he came to Dr Who and people think of his other work more. I think he's more known for being an actor than being known as Dr Who (if that makes sense).
Just one more season. Was that too much to ask?

@NoOtherNamesWereLeft Tennant is brilliant - Eccleston is _FANTASTIC_!

@graemeoliver84 Not to mention that Tennant is taller than Eccleston by one inch.

@crazymusicyo No, DT did it in 1.48.8 AND he was in a manual car!
CE is lovely isn't he? Very sweet, modest and twinkly.

It's funny how he always talks of Doctor Who as a childrens show. I never saw it that way.
