i wish my squad was like this.all the seventh graders do is play.and one eight grader does competition cheer and is soooo lazy.the school mocks us.its embarrasing
@amandakrug1178 There are different requirements for each round. Round 1 is a jumps round where just jumps and motions are allowed. Round 2 is standing tumbling and precision - so all of the motions have to be exactly the same for each girl. Round 3 is the stunting round where basically anything goes. I don't know the exact breakdown of scoring, but you get a different score for each round based on the components (skills, precision, etc.) of each round, and they are combined at the end. :)
@amandakrug1178 In michigan we have three separate routines for three all three rounds... and no music :) Round 1 is the "spirit" round, Round 2 is skills, and Round 3 is stunt round :)
I love this cheer girls. I'm from one of the schools in the MHSAA like you all and in practice one day we were searching cheers and found this and we're totally blown away!
I think this team is amazing and the only reason you given negative reviews is because you are jealous and i have a new squad that i am coaching and i strive to be as good as them =)
Rochester's routine was damn near flawless. The jumps were great. There were maybe two slight missteps. Stunts and tumbling were equally amazing! The Rochester team was agile and stunning to watch! Where as the Grandville team was slow lumbering around the mat. Their jumps were not very high. Tumbling was okay. I wasnt impressed.Especially since they ARE G-ville"Competitive Cheer Team." Hopefully Rochester will comeback and blow them out of the water again. But next time Rochester WILL WIN!

A lot of what Rochester does is the same every year and not just in round 3. There round 3 is so boring because we have seen most of it before and maybe the judges finally saw that. Ek even scored higher than them in round 3 and Ek had a stunt fall.
dumb ass look at the cheer from last year are their round 1,2, and 3 cheers the same???
in round three, they just have the same formations but the stunts are way different and i dont see any other teams who would the same stunts as ROCHESTER!!!
they are new stunts every year and besides the judges are supost to judge you on that preformance only it doesnt matter what you did in the past. And Grandvill could do the same thing, they choose to have bad formations
the thing about rochester is.. they take risks, they do things other teams are scared to do. half of the formations in that cheer ive never seen, and they do it beautifuly if you look at their round 3 they do NEW stunts they should be called the ROCHESTER STUNTS and the next year you see the entire state trying it, they deffintly deserved the state title. but i wouldnt put them on the back burner they will reclaim next year, no doubt about it!

I've never seen a competition like this (round 1, 2 and 3) where you dont perform your entire routine. How does scoring on this work?

It's not flawless, the arms are not as as perfect as they should be when they jump. There are also some girls who lean forward on their jumps..

if you pause it on the toetouch they all lean forward. It makes your jumps look even higher. its choreagraphed in so its not a flaw.
