I loved this pan-->At 2:26 shadow and symbolism are strong.Going through a gate/illegal entry-->complete obscurity to fabulous shadows at 2:35. Iwould have liked to have seen you follow this shadow. It is the shadow that is psychologically harrowing. I also think you might benifit by looking at your earlier version opening with the doorbell-- it was slower, more controlled and I think better. What do you think? when you have different takes you have options for the final pastiche in editing.
You have developed a "signiture technique" using space as an object-- you shoot through glass and I love that visually and as a symbol of obstruction. Psychologically he crosses barriers to victimize-- this is frightening to know that some people do this and it is one definition of criminality. I love your fast zoom in on knives.
I recommend you to try and use different types of background music. The Dario Argento one is good at first but gets a bit repetitive when you use it almost through the entire video.
YEs there are differeing opinions on this-- my daughter loved the consistencey and the music itself butI would like tosuggest other sounds that evoke tension and anxiety as well. You can get some real crazy sound with just ordinary items. Don't forget you have an almost unlimited pallet to work with when it comes to the aural.
It was brilliant how you used the same sound for the microwv dinner and the back stabbing--but I would have liked that sound to morph into more horrific sound-- unless you are going for comedy. Hitchcock was often on the edge of comedy. I almost expected the devil Killer to start tidying up, wipe the knife off and put it back.
yeah i did try that but it was incredibly difficult to time each sound effect correctly to the video as it wasnt playing at the same time. i hope you can get at what im saying :)
Pretty good, but if I may make a few suggestions: Tripod would help with the shakiness and try not to zoom when filming. It looks better if u just cut to another take.
I saw the 1st and 2end parts. I really enjoyed it! I have one question though, what was the story line? I kind of didn't get it. Overall, awsome movie! 5 STARS!!
You'll be a good DVD distributor - getting buyers to double-dip! I know, I'm a meanie :) Anyway, I just love the juicy stabbing, this definitive Director's Final Cut is shaping up well. Actually it's fun watching this again. Part 2 now.
doppleganger, doublesor merging personality, I see as evil traveling from one being corrupting another Nice close-in on clock count down(very tense) dont forget to honor your set privileges and clean up your mess so you will be welcome back wherever you shoot. A gooshy melon makes great stabbing sound. The longshot over the food was great and the empty hall behind was scary you could have put the stealthy figure at the end of the hall in low light moving about. great opening btw. Film on lads!
this film is great 5/5

our films are always mayeb described as black comedy id say (or try to be) such as the devil stopping the ipod song in part 2.
Thanks for your input!
omardogs 3 years ago
yeah the problem i have is that movie maker only allows one layer of audio so it was a choice of just music or just stab sounds :S
omardogs 3 years ago
I downloaded Audacity for free
but I dont remember where. You can do multi track sounds but I am not sure what it saves in, a variety of files I think

I will sue you for spelling illegally wrong-- JUST KIDDING! IT would be pronounced "Illy- Galley" like this. Argento is a master, for sure.
