Good lord...having Biden speak about economics and business creation is like having Ted Bundy speak about women's rights.
Isn't it funny how having less and less people working is "job creation"? The government taxes business to end jobs...then uses the money to hire a couple of gov't workers who watch porn all day instead of producing goods...and they call it job creation and pat themselves on the back....and some people actually believe these idiots.
can someone tell me what Americans understand by "middle class" and how do they call the other class which is not the "upper class" and which people do they generally include into that "other class" ?
It is about time that President Obama and Congress did a public education stimulous package!!!! Hockey anyone? . Corporations(not all, mostly big) pollute the air, put harmful chemicals in our food, create toxic assets, charge usury interest rates on credit cards et cetera. Corporations cut millions of jobs and now our Constitutionally created government is trying to create them. Big corporations will go after the people they pay to troll on the internet after they are done with them. They'll give your job to a robot in a few years
@stanjz Well said. That's exactly how it is. Government is the only tool left we have at limiting the abusive practices of some corporations and banks. It's no wonder that the astroturf, bank/corporate funded tea baggers want to neuter the govmt, specifically neutering governments abilities to limit abusive corporate behavior. Also, you don't lie that corporations fund internet trolls and entire organizations headed by lawyers to disinform us about climate change, banking, etc. Screw them.
Bush picked up the ball when he invaded sovereign nations and defended his actions with lies, misinformation, and more lies. Obama has merely caught that ball passed to him and continued to carry it downfield.
Big corporations need to destroy the middle class in order to be as profitable as possible. Big corporations need to take wage expense as low as possible and the best ways to do that are automating and outsourcing American jobs. Our worst enemies are our corporations. It's a cold hard fact.
posting from a machine produced by a Corporation on a network maintained by a Corporation.
Yeah, dem dare corporates are truly eeville
With every new post stanjz you give further evidence of a proclivity to play hookey rather than attend school and improve yourself and gain personal knowledge of the world around you.
@maskedphrogg Calling stanjz a village idiot? An idiot is someone who refuses to believe that corporations only do good. Isn't a more balanced view on reality that corporations do a lot of good, but it's in everyone's interest to say "no more" to the few corporations that do abusive things to the environment and to people? It is a healthy practice to limit abusive behavior, whether it comes from a person, and animal, or a corporation, and that's what needs to be done.
Who gets to define what is and what is not abusive?
No thanks. I'd rather rely on market regulators. Those who do harm will not be able to sell their wares. Market purge is inevitable.
Sorry, we don't need you to tell us who can and who will not be allowed to do trades. Peddle it in China. I hear they'll buy anything from anyone. Just look at how deeply they are sunk in to US Treasury Notes.
@maskedphrogg Who gets to define what is and what is not abusive? Heh... we have polished, honed people working in a worldwide network that rigorously self-check for accuracy to factually determine what is harmful; they are called the scientific community, and fucktards like yourself come nowhere near their caliber. Human action now IS ABUSIVE TO THE ENVIRONMENT YOU FUCKFACE. It needs to be limited, so stand out of the fucking way. Why don't you go live in polluted China???? Touche', asshole.
@LibertarianThinker Yeah, Climategate is a manufactured controversy by people who will twist reality as hard as they can to pretend climate change isn't real, isn't human made, or isn't a problem. It's a wonderful piece of propoganda, but about as convincing as people who don't believe in the moon landings or that the earth is a sphere.
@Ruinous Of course not. Taking my word on it wouldn't be particularly a good way to understand things. However, if you either use nonpartisian factcheckers who have looked into this, or if you read the mails yourself and try to understand the literature, you'll find the controversy evaoprates into a puff of nothing.
Or you can look at what other climate labs have found. The science is clear. It always has been. Denying reality is not smart, regardless of one's party.
@Ruinous That said, if only there wern't so much at stake I would love to watch conservatives make big bets against reality and academia. I'm not a gambling man, but I'd love to put big money on this, because empiricism and data-driven reasoning win out over emotional wishful thinking in the long run.
What you're saying now will be very embarassing someday. I just hope we don't all have to suffer because enough people are denialists.
@pgunn01 just like the data that says global warming is real, thats not twisted and isnt propaganda? Global warming is just as mythical as the moon landings and those emails prove that the data was being twisted to prove it was real. Face it its all a scam to pass ridiculous laws like cap and trade..lol i bet you dont believe the ice caps are getting bigger either
@LibertarianThinker We're not talking political hacks coming up with a scheme for something, we're talking about researchers spending their entire lives studying something - conclusions from experts. If you would look at the emails actually say and understand the language of the field, you'd find that "climategate" is entirely manufactured for the sake of big business.
FWIW, I don't like cap/trade much either. I'd rather have straight regulation.
@LibertarianThinker You should read the science, rather than the "science". Yes, there are cycles of heating and cooling, but we are disrupting them and they are going to disrupt us in return. I realise that Libertarians are generally not fond of regulation (I was one once), but if you have a bunch of asthmatics in a stuck elevator and somebody's smoking fat cigars, somebody should get the smoker to cut it out unless they like the consequences.
@pgunn01 Well good thing i like cigars then lol to me regulation means the government getting in my face so whose to say these "scientist " are not being payed by the government just so they can pass all this new legislation ?
@LibertarianThinker The parts of the government that fund research are pretty isolated from the elected parts. Plus, this research is happening all over the world, across many different cultures. Scientific culture may not be perfect, but people who devote their lives to science arn't generally looking for money. Falsification of data would take away what we strive for most - advancing human knowledge and being recognised for it. We would be shunned by our peers for that.
@LibertarianThinker Why do you think the tobacco studies are biased? What does the word "biased" mean to you? They do take a position, but they're designed to - the point of science is to use data to reach a position on how some part of the universe means. Is it that you don't like the conclusions, or ...?
@pgunn01 Biased to me is when you are paid to skew results for the favor of someone else or of another group ( could probably label this under bribery as well ) for personal or Political gains.
@LibertarianThinker Could you point out to me evidence of this happening in academia for the tobacco lobby? I would think that were it known, academes would've discredited such things.
Let businesses that make bad decisions die in bankruptcy instead of monetarizing their debt as Public Debt and keeping these inept players alive. Quit mucking around in Markets you don't understand and those Markets will purge themselves of loss leaders.
On your energy q: No, as long as gov mucks around in private enterprise it will impede innovation and keep useful solutions from being implemented.
Until gov bal it's own books you have nothing to offer us
@lowbottomranch Aw ya kinda like how Obama illegally passed the health care bill and is the Chairman of the U.N. security counsel which is against the constitution as well, not to mention raising the deficit even more and not pulling the troops out of Iraq wish is another thing he promised he would do so you see sir those are the facts.
I take exception in the manner the Bill was passed into Law and many portions of the Bill will be challenged in the Courts and be found to be unlawful. But the method used was not illegal. Neither was it impartial, and that is what I take even further offense at. That a partisan effort barely greater than 50% majority could enact such a far reaching Law is no less repugnant than it is despicable.
@maskedphrogg Aw yes well was under the impression it was so ill admit my mistake. But ya it is odd that with only 50% that it was even possible not to mention 74% of the country didnt want it.
Oh, I was looking forward to a citation. I've read most of the Constitution, and keep a pocket sized copy here at my desk, but I am unfamiliar with any Section that might support the idea that Congress must tally an up-or-down vote on Legislation.
@maskedphrogg Well from what i have heard and read i was under the impression that both the house and senate had to both vote on a piece of legislation before the president could sign it to law.
@LibertarianThinker I'm just curious LibertarianThink...how did Obama pass the Health Care bill illegally? What law explains how it was illegal? How is him being the Chairman of the U.N security Counsel against the constitution? Where in the constitution does it say this?
@JoshMcRay Well as maskedphrogg pointed out it wasn't( the health care bill that is), but i was under the impression that it was so i apologize for the confusion, but as Section 9 of the constitution says: No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States:And no person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.
That would be the final para of Article 1; Section 9
to be specific.
Not even going to ask how that could possibly be seen as related to the topic at hand. But who knows. Get a load of Sec.512 of the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act. HR627 It formally prohibits restriction of firearm possession within Nat Parks or the ANWR where State Law allows such possession. How that relates to CCs in any way shape or form utterly baffles me.

@lowbottomranch
Bush picked up the ball when he invaded sovereign nations and defended his actions with lies, misinformation, and more lies. Obama has merely caught that ball passed to him and continued to carry it downfield.
-*This*- is the change he proclaimed?
Business as Usual is hardly change.
maskedphrogg 1 year ago
@maskedphrogg I agree in a lot of ways he is similar to Bush and yet people act like he could walk on water what a joke

this government is full of fucking idiots they use what they believe in and not what the people want and they all fail while doing it

Big corporations need to destroy the middle class in order to be as profitable as possible. Big corporations need to take wage expense as low as possible and the best ways to do that are automating and outsourcing American jobs. Our worst enemies are our corporations. It's a cold hard fact.
stanjz 1 year ago
@stanjz
And here we have another Village Idiot,
posting from a machine produced by a Corporation on a network maintained by a Corporation.
Yeah, dem dare corporates are truly eeville
With every new post stanjz you give further evidence of a proclivity to play hookey rather than attend school and improve yourself and gain personal knowledge of the world around you.
maskedphrogg 1 year ago
@maskedphrogg i learned how to play "hookey" from you maskedphrogg. i learned how to play hockey when i was playing hookey from school.
stanjz 1 year ago
@maskedphrogg Calling stanjz a village idiot? An idiot is someone who refuses to believe that corporations only do good. Isn't a more balanced view on reality that corporations do a lot of good, but it's in everyone's interest to say "no more" to the few corporations that do abusive things to the environment and to people? It is a healthy practice to limit abusive behavior, whether it comes from a person, and animal, or a corporation, and that's what needs to be done.
EcrossH 1 year ago
@EcrossH
Just look at how deeply they are sunk in to US Treasury Notes.
maskedphrogg 1 year ago
@maskedphrogg Who gets to define what is and what is not abusive? Heh... we have polished, honed people working in a worldwide network that rigorously self-check for accuracy to factually determine what is harmful; they are called the scientific community, and fucktards like yourself come nowhere near their caliber. Human action now IS ABUSIVE TO THE ENVIRONMENT YOU FUCKFACE. It needs to be limited, so stand out of the fucking way. Why don't you go live in polluted China???? Touche', asshole.

@EcrossH Um have you ever heard of climate gate? also dont let Al Gore slap you on the way out,
Next
LibertarianThinker 1 year ago
@LibertarianThinker Yeah, Climategate is a manufactured controversy by people who will twist reality as hard as they can to pretend climate change isn't real, isn't human made, or isn't a problem. It's a wonderful piece of propoganda, but about as convincing as people who don't believe in the moon landings or that the earth is a sphere.
pgunn01 1 year ago
@pgunn01 Says who. You? Talking your bullshit falsies and repeating them doesn't make them true.
Ruinous 1 year ago
@Ruinous Of course not. Taking my word on it wouldn't be particularly a good way to understand things. However, if you either use nonpartisian factcheckers who have looked into this, or if you read the mails yourself and try to understand the literature, you'll find the controversy evaoprates into a puff of nothing.
Or you can look at what other climate labs have found. The science is clear. It always has been. Denying reality is not smart, regardless of one's party.
pgunn01 1 year ago 2
@Ruinous That said, if only there wern't so much at stake I would love to watch conservatives make big bets against reality and academia. I'm not a gambling man, but I'd love to put big money on this, because empiricism and data-driven reasoning win out over emotional wishful thinking in the long run.
What you're saying now will be very embarassing someday. I just hope we don't all have to suffer because enough people are denialists.
pgunn01 1 year ago
@pgunn01 just like the data that says global warming is real, thats not twisted and isnt propaganda? Global warming is just as mythical as the moon landings and those emails prove that the data was being twisted to prove it was real. Face it its all a scam to pass ridiculous laws like cap and trade..lol i bet you dont believe the ice caps are getting bigger either
LibertarianThinker 1 year ago
@LibertarianThinker We're not talking political hacks coming up with a scheme for something, we're talking about researchers spending their entire lives studying something - conclusions from experts. If you would look at the emails actually say and understand the language of the field, you'd find that "climategate" is entirely manufactured for the sake of big business.
FWIW, I don't like cap/trade much either. I'd rather have straight regulation.
pgunn01 1 year ago
@pgunn01 I dont think we need any regulation the earth goes threw this same cycle of heating and cooling
LibertarianThinker 1 year ago
@LibertarianThinker You should read the science, rather than the "science". Yes, there are cycles of heating and cooling, but we are disrupting them and they are going to disrupt us in return. I realise that Libertarians are generally not fond of regulation (I was one once), but if you have a bunch of asthmatics in a stuck elevator and somebody's smoking fat cigars, somebody should get the smoker to cut it out unless they like the consequences.
pgunn01 1 year ago
@pgunn01 Well good thing i like cigars then lol to me regulation means the government getting in my face so whose to say these "scientist " are not being payed by the government just so they can pass all this new legislation ?
LibertarianThinker 1 year ago
@LibertarianThinker The parts of the government that fund research are pretty isolated from the elected parts. Plus, this research is happening all over the world, across many different cultures. Scientific culture may not be perfect, but people who devote their lives to science arn't generally looking for money. Falsification of data would take away what we strive for most - advancing human knowledge and being recognised for it. We would be shunned by our peers for that.
pgunn01 1 year ago
@pgunn01 I have a hard time believing that because most if not all tobacco studies that are done are funded by the government and in turn are bias
LibertarianThinker 1 year ago
@LibertarianThinker Why do you think the tobacco studies are biased? What does the word "biased" mean to you? They do take a position, but they're designed to - the point of science is to use data to reach a position on how some part of the universe means. Is it that you don't like the conclusions, or ...?
pgunn01 1 year ago
@pgunn01 Biased to me is when you are paid to skew results for the favor of someone else or of another group ( could probably label this under bribery as well ) for personal or Political gains.
LibertarianThinker 1 year ago
@LibertarianThinker Could you point out to me evidence of this happening in academia for the tobacco lobby? I would think that were it known, academes would've discredited such things.

You're kidding right Mr VicePresident?
Let businesses that make bad decisions die in bankruptcy instead of monetarizing their debt as Public Debt and keeping these inept players alive. Quit mucking around in Markets you don't understand and those Markets will purge themselves of loss leaders.
On your energy q: No, as long as gov mucks around in private enterprise it will impede innovation and keep useful solutions from being implemented.
Until gov bal it's own books you have nothing to offer us
maskedphrogg 1 year ago
@lowbottomranch Aw ya kinda like how Obama illegally passed the health care bill and is the Chairman of the U.N. security counsel which is against the constitution as well, not to mention raising the deficit even more and not pulling the troops out of Iraq wish is another thing he promised he would do so you see sir those are the facts.
LibertarianThinker 1 year ago
@LibertarianThinker
Not illegal, unprecedented.
An important and not negligible difference.
I take exception in the manner the Bill was passed into Law and many portions of the Bill will be challenged in the Courts and be found to be unlawful. But the method used was not illegal. Neither was it impartial, and that is what I take even further offense at. That a partisan effort barely greater than 50% majority could enact such a far reaching Law is no less repugnant than it is despicable.
maskedphrogg 1 year ago
@maskedphrogg Aw yes well was under the impression it was so ill admit my mistake. But ya it is odd that with only 50% that it was even possible not to mention 74% of the country didnt want it.
LibertarianThinker 1 year ago
@LibertarianThinker
Oh, I was looking forward to a citation. I've read most of the Constitution, and keep a pocket sized copy here at my desk, but I am unfamiliar with any Section that might support the idea that Congress must tally an up-or-down vote on Legislation.
maskedphrogg 1 year ago
@maskedphrogg Well from what i have heard and read i was under the impression that both the house and senate had to both vote on a piece of legislation before the president could sign it to law.
LibertarianThinker 1 year ago
@LibertarianThinker I'm just curious LibertarianThink...how did Obama pass the Health Care bill illegally? What law explains how it was illegal? How is him being the Chairman of the U.N security Counsel against the constitution? Where in the constitution does it say this?
JoshMcRay 1 year ago
@JoshMcRay Well as maskedphrogg pointed out it wasn't( the health care bill that is), but i was under the impression that it was so i apologize for the confusion, but as Section 9 of the constitution says: No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States:And no person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.
LibertarianThinker 1 year ago
@LibertarianThinker
eh hem
That would be the final para of Article 1; Section 9
to be specific.
Not even going to ask how that could possibly be seen as related to the topic at hand. But who knows. Get a load of Sec.512 of the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act. HR627 It formally prohibits restriction of firearm possession within Nat Parks or the ANWR where State Law allows such possession. How that relates to CCs in any way shape or form utterly baffles me.
