It doesnt affect your speech or anything and any pain you feel goes after about 1 week. :)

Wow you guys... There is no veins in the web. The web is for use of simply connecting the tongue to the bottom of your mouth. When you pierce it, it doesn't usually bleed. AND it doesn't hurt that bad. It will also be healed within 4-5 days usually.
I've heard of people when they get their webs pierced, they could hit a nerve or artery in the mouth and can either be paralyzed from the neck down or they could bleed out and die.... so i might not get this done
@Xx0Jennifer0xX If a piercing isn’t placed carefully, it can be pushed through a nerve, severing it and making the surrounding area permanently deadened to any feeling. With all piercing throughout your body it is possible to hit a nerve. The ear is the most risky part to pierce compared to the web. It is very unlikely to die from a piercing. Just get an experienced piercer.

If you hit a wane or a nerve and if it will heald it can start hurt or bleed from a smalles tug.
So in the conclusion, it is not a dangerous piercing;)
@ableappleautumn Not painful at all and it doesn't alter the way I talk. Just expect to have your mouth open for about 5 minutes. Its in a difficult spot so the piercer will take a while to screw the ball on. Oh and the clamp might hurt.
