the formula is just this:

P=2l + 2w

P= perimeter

l = length

w = width

@uppercast u don't need to add the two widths and two lengths.. just multiply each by 2.

x is actually 1 x. there is an assumed 1(one) in front of the x...so what he was counting was this: 1x +1x + 4x + 4x= 10x...hope it helps...even though its a month late. haha but I answered it..
