I don't think there is a moral lesson in this story, I mean the girl could have died if she didn't make all that gold so Rump came along asked for only her jewels at first but then he bargained with her baby. Idiot woman hoped he had forgotten about it but came and she was in more of a mess when she realized by guessing his name in three days she can keep her baby.
