@DarkSifu well, it depends.. if you damage directly the CCD of the camera without damaging any other parts.. then it is most likely that you'll get white noise... if you have a digital camera recording on a tape, you will probably get displaced and distorted images because of the mechanical distortion that will be created during the impact... things are not getting black at once... they need their time.. the video is fake though, and the belay guy should be watching his climber, not videoing

IMO lead belayers shouldn't anchor themselves unless they're doing multi-pitch; it makes it hard to give soft-belay. Just stay in closer to the wall and you'll be fine.

i was belaying my cuz when he fell, and, by my own fault, was not anchored. i was on a steep enbankment at a climb called juggs r us, and when he fell down, i fell up and across, slamming into the rockface. i broke my tailbone. this fall is fake and small. the guy's voice is the same all through the video, sao he did not move at all.

its not "fake". This is a climbing fall on lead. Though the climber had alot of rope out so it probably would have been pretty nasty. Thankfully the belayer dropped the camera and did his job.

The rope he is climbing on is dynamic rope, so it basically is a bungie chord...

most modern ropes used for climbing are called "dynamic" ropes, they have quite a bit of stretch in them to cushion the fall. also, the the Belayer will get lifted off the ground if he's not anchored anywhere, which will also slow the climbers fall up.

The guy had a rope and stuff, probably a belay, which can stop a fall. It was staged to look like that guy fell, or he did fall and the belay person dropped that camera.
