  • "If Scripture is so easy to understand why do your pretend reformers continue to write so many commentaries?"

  • Good points. Excellent. Keep em up.

  • Your video makes the implication that you yourself have THE right interpretation of all scripture. The falacy in that thought process is that all of the other denominations believe the same thing, when in fact that cannot be true. Your analogy also fails, because as you stated, there would still be one winner. The problem is, that we can ALL be losers. When we start believing that we speak for God, instead of him speaking for himself we leave great room for human error.

  • guyncali2, the vid makes no such assertion. Please point out where you think I said that? I never claimed anything except that for those willing to put in the time and care, the Bible is not hard to understand. Which I do understand means that in the group of those willing to do that, they will have very similar beliefs. I don't claim to speak for God, however, He did give me a brain to research, study and meditate on His word.

  • Still one group of "bible believers" will claim another group is unsaved hell bound heretics.

Which group is right? Maybe all are ... maybe none?

Would the Mormons tell you they are correctly reading the bible or incorrectly?

Even though you claim the differences in interpretation are small ... It's enough for all sorts of chaos and confusion.

These divergent interpretations even if they are minimal and contained shows me no one is in charge. Humans are on their own.

  • Dnamill23, thou misseth the point grandly. People, as I said in the vid, are the variable. Since we are sinners and we are slaves to our selfish agendas, narcissism, ulterior motives... not to mention the greed, lust for political power using religion, it would stand to reason that many so-called interpretations are being driven by less than honest intentions. Looking to the source, recognizing contexts and being honest will answer all the questions you asked above.

  • I'm not sure that even the most fanatical off the wall interpretations are necessarily less than honest except for the few who use it to prey on the many. That is a value judgement that is somewhat self righteous, but let me be clear that I don't think you mean to be.

Also, I never said that your vid made an assertion, I said it was implied. Your knowledge of the implication is irrelevent. This is how many people see christianity these days. We fail to see that implication, whether fact or not.

  • ok-ok. But If god really does exist how could he tolerate such an abuse of his word.

Given the Eternal Damnation and God Eternal Praise and glory are on the line AND given God is pure and just and holy and good!, .... How could he tolerate this distortion.

I'm assuming that many will fail in gods (just and good) eyes simply because "da woids was worng".

If gods message is not intact, surely justice EQUALLY (in all caps) cannot be intact.

  • Danmill23, you said, "If god really does exist how could he tolerate such an abuse of his word". If God stopped every bad thing that every bad person ever planned then where would we be? Remember, the very early and extremely widespread dispersion of the NT has completely eliminated the possibility of any one group or Org from having control of the text at any time. Scribal error does not equal a different message. There are so many copies we can discern where mistakes were made. Look into it.

  • good vid bro, i have to completely agree, i just don't agree with what the text says.
