i agree UPS can be gentler but what courier cant. However i feel more initiative should be placed on the sender. E.g. I was shipped a $1000 item (Digidesign 11 Rack) from the GUITAR CENTER warehouse in Kansas with virtually no consideration for packing whatsoever - they just slapped a label on it. Furthermore, they even left the old label the manufacturer used to ship it to them from California which only added insult to injury.
