  • I personally think you just need to break from realty when ever you can otherwise you learn the truths of your future and you life and stop caring any more... when they say depression hurts, it really hurts you for a good amount of time.

  • Swear I heard singing in there for a second... but then I realized it was just my soul.

  • i swear this songs a drug, im so addicted! whenever i hear it, it always excites so many emotions.

  • This makes me think of being sat in a beautiful garden watching critters and bugs enjoying it whilst it's sunny :)

  • Reminds me of a beautiful sunset streaming across the oceans,as the breeze swirls into one universal sky...............rock on Trent!

  • esta canción DEBE sonar en mi funeral. Simplemente hermosa.

  • Ok, I'm not comparing Minecraft and NIN. Both are 2 very separate things, but doesn't this music sound like it would fit well as ambiance in the game? Some of the songs on the Minecraft remind me of this one.

  • @gorion79 Yeah, it wouldn't sound out of place in Minecraft.

  • @gorion79 Yeah, actually one of C148's (i think thats his name) favorite bands is Nine Inch Nails. He is the dude that made the minecraft music.

  • @gorion79 Dude i thought that the music in minecraft was by trent reznor when i first played haha xD

  • One of my favorites

  • Oh god this is beautiful.

  • This song makes me think of the ending of Brazil.

  • You can download his complete discography on his website nin.com. You have to have a membership, but there are so many amazing remixes of his songs on there along with the originals, so it's worth it. It doesn't cost anything either.

  • Was there this album, and a live version or what?? Can't seem to find this one.

  • @clearviewmind It's on the album called "Still"

  • @BuriedAlive7x Ok cool. Thanx.

  • I wish i wasn't so old so i knew how to download all NIN albums.Download a song period for that matter.this shit sucks!

  • @FearNLoathing777 hello?? don't you know how to use the pirate bay? That's how I got the complete discography...

  • One person accidentally clicked "dislike." lol

  • If you think it's all Starfuckers and Closer, you're a moron. This is one of my favorite insturmental peices outside the ghosts.

  • Crikey - is there another side to NIN i don't know of? This sounds nothing like the stuff I've heard of them!! Completely different to Starfuckers Inc!

  • @clearviewmind Songs like Starfuckers and Closer are just what they put out as mainstream singles to please the masses and make a buck. Trent has a very large library of incredible tracks you've never heard of that sound nothing like the mainstream stuff like Starfuckers and Closer. NIN is a band that you can't fairly judge by just listening to their hit singles, there is a whole lot more to their music than that in my opinion.

  • @Mafila You're right! I'm gonna buy Ghosts with my next wage packet for sure! Sounds beautiful too. Good stuff!! Thanks for replying.

  • Trent said that this song was the official conclusion to La Mer from The Fragile album. Both Extreme in beautiful ways.

  • @devinc9 Normally I regret even reading the comments on youtube videos but I really like that.

  • i don't know if heaven exists, but if it does, this must be it's main theme

  • @TheEugenin Nah man my uncle told me its Rock the casbah for sure

  • reminds me of a Studio Ghibli Film

  • wow, sounds from La Mer/Into The Void, i love how trent does that <3 using the same instruments in a new way each time!

  • this song makes me think of cold comfort, as if just enduring a harsh amount of mental or physical pain and stepping out into sunlight, the fuzzy, dizzy feel from the warmth and embracing beauty in it, only to collapse.

  • this song makes me want to kill everyone

  • @MiracleFruitClock lolol u made me laff

  • personally, tool, nin, radiohead, and beck are my favorite artists. each have their merits, neither is "better" than the other, and it's a matter of personal opinion on which one you listen to most, so just shut up about tool and nin and just listen to the fucking music :D

  • hey does anyone know what type of piano or sound does he use to get that hi-pitched lollaby sound??i am dying to know.

  • @MrEspaillat Some kind of vibes tone, but it also kinda has a steel drum quality, but its definitely vibes.

  • @MrEspaillat I'm pretty sure its just a piano "prepared' to get the sound they wanted.

  • @MrEspaillat sounds like a toy piano to me.

  • @Fpockets haha true

  • Apparently Trent noted this as the sequel to La Mer. :) I think it fits perfectly with the mood and tone of the first one. Kind of like a peaceful ending

  • Did anyone else think Minecraft?

  • I want this to be played at my funneral.

  • beautifully calming...yet in a melancholy way~

  • I know this is probably a really stupid question, but everytime I search for this album it's all live songs and they're different. Where is this collection of songs?

  • @VerticaDrums This is actually from "Still" its a companion b side to And All That Could Have Been thats a lot harder to find.

  • @VerticaDrums I found a brand new copy of STILL on e-bay about 2 years ago; it was $50 and worth every penny to me.... the prices fluctuate.... good luck.

  • @VerticaDrums It's a small album called "Still". really hard to find. might have to torrent. One of my favourites :)

  • @VerticaDrums i torrented Still off of the Pirate Bay. There were only 5 seeders but it still downloaded and I'm seeding it at this very moment.

  • TOOL and NIN are both amazing!

  • @KARELIAN68 Both are very different bands

  • if theres a afterlife i hope this song plays 24/7 the song title itself just fits what i would think would be a great afterlife. Trent Reznor your a legend and will remain so. thank you for your great music and helping me through the struggle we call life.

  • @CriticsConfession youre obviously a fucking idiot...?! how old are you? you sound young and jealous you werent around for the first (and best) few albums of nin... fragile was the beginning of the end of the early NIN, closure (dvd) is just that -CLOSURE! if you werent there, dont disrespect their most potent incarnation :)X

  • @aphexxx77 Are you fucking retarded? I wasn't saying anything bad about NIN. I'm just saying that Trent's real talent started with The Fragile. Gtfo.

  • @CriticsConfession His talent started in Exotic Birds you dumbfuck.

  • This reminds me of my best friend. He passed away and after he was cremated I poured his ashes into the ocean. Now he's adrift and at peace.

  • @werewolfmatingritual Isn't amazing how music can capture those kinds of emotions? I've never had any experience like that, but I can feel something of it right along with you just because of the inspiring music. Thanks for telling us your story :)

  • @werewolfmatingritual great story man, I lost a real close friend this year and this song always helped me.

  • @ejjph hahah you lost your friend i bummed them also cus thats yeah

  • @qwert4327able ???????

  • @werewolfmatingritual So sweet and touching, man. Be blessed yourself, mate.

  • @werewolfmatingritual In the moment I read you comment I was like "are you kidding me?!" because that's exactly what I told my best friend to do if I die. RIP to your friend,

  • @werewolfmatingritual reminds me of a time i took a shit, and it floated

  • @oftenlostinwhat Nice! Well played my man, ..... well played. touché

  • Everytime I hear this music for some reason I always imagine myself on a sailboat in the middle of the ocean the sun shinning bright with a girl I care very much for.

  • @Threemiles236 It's a memory of other life if you want to believe me.

  • @TheOsFoda You mean like reincarnation?

  • @Threemiles236 Yes, that is what I believe, when you sometimes have deep feelings of something you never lived. I feel this kind of thing too.

  • @TheOsFoda I do believe you on that. Personally I believe that when we die and the the world eventually ends it all begins again and we get to live our lives over again and get the chance to do things differently, that's where I think de ja vu comes from. It has happend before just a different cycle of life you lived.

  • @Threemiles236 Wow, nice way to think, I never tought this way, I think of you having an other life, being you human, animal or even an creature from other planet (I know that sounds crazy and idiot).

  • @TheOsFoda Thanks. I believe our lives are a repetative cycle which I really like if that's true. Next time around I'm really going to cherish growing up in my favorite decade, the 90s haha

  • I enjoy listening to this album on rainy days....it elevates the mood for me

  • It makes me go into a new world...

  • i stayed up all night last night lying on my roof, smoking weed, listening to this album and staring at the stars, and it was beautiful. :)

  • I image myself floating, nothing really matters, emptiness, that's how a picture the afterlife.

  • I hope when i die the afterlife plays songs like this to surround my eternal being. Im not going about religion or anythng because everyone is entitled to there belives.

  • Beautiful, I love it, It seems as though it would go well to the movie "Donnie Darko" in my opinion.

  • Amazing... enjoy it!

  • really does bring tears to my eyes!!!

  • hey........ #1. i realy think you were so high you missed the like button.

  • Falling...I don't care

  • this is what I listen to when I am writing songs and/or poetry and I wanna go on a creative day dream to find unique energy to muster up the potential I need to follow through with something fresh and new. No one can do this except for Trent Reznor, Maynard from TOOL does the same sort of thing but on a more spiritual level rather than emotional like NIN does.

  • @SHAWNWILD1 very true statement bro. Keep listining to great music. I love listening to this song skating the song is so relaxing and creative.

  • reminds me of a scene from donnie darko for some reason..

  • This song reminds me of being dead for some reason.

  • @slingblade1991 Hmm, when was the last time you died? Closest I think I have come is a Salvia Divinorum "Trance". I might have counted the time before my birth, but I don't know If I'd equate non-existence, to death... You never know what you've had until its gone.

    ;)

  • is god

  • This reminds me of a part of the game from Kingdom hearts 1 & 2 , so strange and i really want to know how that is xD

  • lovely.

  • Wow, this song is truly haunting and vividly entrancing.

  • Trent is The best!

  • In a lot of ways this reminds me of the calm series of music from Minecraft. How fitting :)

  • i happen to think this song is a gift from god and that god is trent reznor

  • @mrselfdestruct345 you sir made me laugh quite heavily and i completely agree with your comment!

  • @jvadams72 >:[

  • @Dramen93 i rescinded my thumbs down....i didn't even know you could do that...back to 1 lol

  • @jvadams72 :]

  • @jvadams72

your logic puts a smile on my face

  • Used to hear this on repeat late at night all the time...hoping,wondering,reminiscing.I would think about how I felt before.I would close my eyes and think hard, just trying to put my life into perspective...Whenever I close my eyes I can almost go back to that place...And for a split second everything's ok again...

  • i saw them do this live and i thought.... this was what it was like for people to see pink floyd back in the day. i am sure i was witness to something beyond my years.

  • theyre stopping of touring brings a greaqt cloud of sadness to storm over my heart

  • @ssteffel - He's probably just taking a well deserved break from touring. How many times has Reznor said he's quitting since 1999? I don't think he can. Like with any true master musician, it's in his blood. I've seen his show twice over the years, and it is an incredibly amazing event to behold.

  • @CmdrGendoIkari He's doing something with is wife right now...How to Destroy Angels. Check it out. Its awesome.

  • @llron1west - NIN will always be my favorite along with Keenan's work, but I'm not so obsessive that I hang on every little thing he does. Thanks for letting me know about it. BTW, she has a beautiful voice. Exciting stuff. ;)

  • Reznor is one of the few who've actually kept in touch with music all the time...the detail in which he feeds each note IS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!! love his music

  • I saw their last show in Toronto. Everyone was crying...So sad.

  • i love trent reznor hes my jesus

  • @kutcharaninfan you need to get out more and off the net

  • @kutcharaninfan if you look a picture of chris cornell right now you would say "oh my god HE'S JESUS CHRIST!" but yeah trent is a kind of godsend

  • @kutcharaninfan

    Jesu

  • @SaintsXstreet hmm?

  • @kutcharaninfan

    Acsedently pressed enter.....

  • @SaintsXstreet ohh okay

  • amazing song. amazing album. <3

  • This is such a great song to relax. I love this. :)

  • Do these songs remind anyone of the ghosts?

  • @frankiszero

    Now that you mention it...

These songs, however, are far superior to the Ghosts album (not saying Ghosts is bad, mind you - not at all - it's just that I love this particular NIN album).

  • @JesterToy - Just consider Ghosts to be the soundtrack to the movie not yet filmed, or the soundtrack to our unfolding reality. Take your pick.

  • i LOVE all NINs quiet + still versions. all such beauty and meaning! its as if he's written so many of these songs for parts of my life!!! Please come and tour England, PLEASE!!!

  • @YearZero19 dude he stoped touring as nin he is with his wife in"how to destroy angels"

  • this is the definition of amazing

  • Isn't this from Still?

  • @yoda2287 yes it is personally this is my favortie NIN album to listen to. escpecially when its raining.

  • @DanNazarioDEP

    Same here, love still.

Reminds me of silent hill too along with being alone.

  • @Narzath1 A Warm Place reminded me of Silent Hill 2 for some reason.

  • @yoda2287 yeah its from still, because i was confused, i have the whole discography of nine inch nails, and adrift and at peace and leaving hope are both on still..

  • I listen to this when I feel like dying. It always helps me get better. :')

  • Sounds like a conclusion to La Mer

  • @CaptOsage only because it is

  • @CaptOsage It is, trent said himself that it was.

  • @CaptOsage dont try and be a smartass. you obviously have already read somewhere that it is the conclusion to la mer and decided to try and look smart. doesnt fool me motherfucker.

  • @MacDaddyPooty You Are The SHIT.LMFAO

  • @MacDaddyPooty Oh lol, I see how my comment sounded. What I meant was I agree, it sounds like the perfect conclusion to La Mer. My comment wasn't meant to be a "discovery", but I can see how it sounded like that. My bad.

  • @CaptOsage respect

  • @MacDaddyPooty Hey, relax. I don't wanna see this kind of immature insulting as a top comment on a beautiful masterpiece like this. Come back when you're less aggressive. Try listening to the music, that might help.

  • @MacDaddyPooty haha la mer means The Wall in french XD

  • @NIN8898 It actually means "The Sea"...

"Le Mur" means "The Wall"... >_>

  • @romansoldierdude dont use google translate it is wrong.... it means "the wall" and it makes more sense for this album too..... you have been told the wrong thing my friend. I have taken french for 4 years now...

  • @NIN8898 I'm in my sixth year of french, dude... La Mer means the sea.

Trent wrote La Mer while he was staying at a house by the ocean (when he was contemplating suicide). This was the only song to come out of that experience. It means the sea. Read the lyrics to the song, it makes much more sense:

    "And when the day arrives

    I'll become the sky

    And I'll become the SEA

And the SEA will come to kiss me"

No need to troll, bro. Enjoy the calming, ocean like music instead >_>

  • @romansoldierdude hahahaha XDDDD

  • @romansoldierdude no need for argument

  • @NIN8898 lol, it's common knowledge among nin fans that it means the sea. fourth year of french my ass. @romansoldierdude, spot on

  • hahahaha yeah

  • Probably one of his best songs. YOU HEAR ME, better than Closer, better than Head Like a Hole, Only (not the remixes), and Hand that Feeds!!!!

    Trent is so awesome!!

  • truely peaceful and creepy at the same time.... I love the moody stuff like this that Trent does. Ghosts is a double album-full
