  • OOPS

  • swift classic lol

  • On my very first night after training, My very first solo load! I went to pick up a meat load. I backed under neath the trailer, pulled and tugged, I heard it click. Good to go? Well I thought so. I go to pull out and the trailer landed on my wheels. It took me 2 hours to dolly down, and get the trailer high enough so I could leave. That was a lesson I never forgot after that night. Always check!

  • @SilverFox466 At least you learned early LOL

  • @seansuth I did and I was thankful that no one was hurt. It was a bad first day on the job. I am a Computer Scientist and this was only a temporary job while I finished school. I was not use to blue collar jobs. I am blessed becuase I have a new founded respect for those who work hard in these kinds of jobs.

  • @SilverFox466 First push, pull and tugg to the left and right, also a flash light would come on handy...

  • S.W.I.F.T

    Still

    Wish

    I

    Finished

    Training

No offense to all the truckers that drive for swift, I used to ride shotgun with my dad when he drove truck and he made a bunch of these

  • he didnt check to make sure the fifth wheel jaws were locked around the kingpin.....were's the swift training HAHAHAHAHA...at least he didnt kill someone

  • So should you do a TUG TEST every time you start out ? i.e. even after a short break. The video appears to have occurred after the driver took off from a rest break. i,e, Note the McQuakers in the background.

  • It IS a good idea to check the handle and visually make sure it's still tight. There have been cases of pranks gone wrong. This guy picked up the trailer, and didn't perform the test/inspection. It was a dropped trailer when I pulled in, and saw him connect

  • Oh Okay. Thanks, That must have cost him abit. OUCH !!!

  • @seansuth also its best to get a flashlight and check the kingpin and bar or claw grabs around the kingpin by looking in back of 5th wheel to in sure its lock in place. When I back in after I lock it in I will tug twice then pre check then check 5th and last before leaving tug twice again.

  • hey swift has some good drivers like my gandfather and my grandmother and my uncle! Knight has some good drivers to like my cusion and aunt! yea my whole family truck drives

  • No doubt. Bad drivers aren't limited to one company. Too bad tho, it would make it so much easier if they were!

  • Tug test????????? Not going to say anything bad cause I don't want that Karma coming my way but...TUG TEST!?!

  • Yeah, karma can slap you on this video, just read my reply to 6812944

  • i use to drive for swift those r the drivers that give swift a bad nam, but that can happen to any1 at any company. nice vid sean keep em commin

  • You're right. There's bad drivers everywhere giving the INDUSTRY a bad name, let alone any one company. I do have to admit, not long after this video I was here at home... thankfully it was an empty and here at my wifes work, I did the same thing. I did a visual, and things looked ok, but after rolling a few feet and doing the brake test, the thing slid off! The king pin mashed the sticky snow into ice with in the fifthwheel, making it an inch to far back to lock

  • I would like to see one swift driver give the company a good name.

    Not too many of those.

  • I guarantee the only reason that trailer is laying on the ground is because the driver was too lazy to take a flashlight. Get under the trailer and make sure the locking jaws closed around the shank of the kingpin. It's just too damn easy to prevent this kind of shit. This is one of those things that's completely unforgivable if your a trucker. By the way, nice video Sean. Hopefully some of the new boots out here will see this and remember to check that 5th wheel.

  • your fired? ah not at swift he might get a raise though? make him a trainer eh?

  • i had this happen to me wen i was driving down the rd the boss unhooked it hooked it back up he tug tested forward and reverse i did the same but we then found out that the neopreen mat that sits between turntable and skid plate on trailer was jamming between the finger type jaws on the new jost turntable worst ever designed yet i prefer the old holland type jaws

  • SWIFT!! SAYS IT ALL!!

  • See What I Flattin Today (swift)

  • lol damn i'm gonna make sure im not that guy, but i got no better choice but to start driving for swift. but unlike this lucky guy in the video, ill check and test im connected. pull test dogg pull test lmao

  • lmao..=]

  • WOW im not at all suprised. lmao great video

  • LOL SWIFT lol always swift. if it breaks its swift haha.

  • Your're FIRED!!!

  • Sean, you must know that other truckers will release the 5th wheel when you are inside eating. Not very often but somebody will be talking trash and other driver will get even by pulling his release on 5th wheel.

  • Oh I know/seen that before. But I watched this guy come, connect, and drive off only to meet this fait

  • dispatch told me to drop my load so i did

  • SWIFT- See-What-I-FuckedUp-Today. hehe not the best of truck drivers that's for sure

  • WOW a Swift driver ! Wonder if he speaks English ?

  • racist bastard

  • So...I wonder if the bonehead even tried to crank it up and get back under it??

  • so why did that happen ? was it driver fault or mechanical ?

  • could be mechanical, but doubt it. he was probably in a hurry and dint do any tests on the lock jaw

  • was told in school u drop a trailer ur gone no questions asked wonder what swifts policy is on that

  • A Swift truck! Wow! That only happens 4-5 times a week! LOL!

  • ya they probably have a few cases of beer and try not to do it again. 2 1/2hours later, i cant believe this hapened again. sir have you been drinking? no... he runs

  • your right, sad a 15 yr old could do it better. ever thought of shoving some "drivers" outta the seat and show them how to do it? lol

  • just another day at Swift Transport

  • that happend 2 u how

  • this didnt happen to me. another driver just backed into it, hooked airlines and didnt check his king pin locking jaws, co it was never really connected

  • hey sean how could that happen i can drive a truck but im not 2 sure about the technical part of it dnt wrry i dnt have my cdl im only 13 but what auses that 2 happen

  • tip to all you rookie truck drivers..always always check your 5th wheel release lever when you get up in the morning alot of times asshole truckers love to pull'em when your are asleep

  • thanks fro that ill keep that in mind when i start dreiving
