Okay, so I downloaded this song from Napster. There's a lot of stuff going on in this song that doesn't come across on youtube. There's some interesting percussion, a cool guitar part during the first chorus, etc. Sorry youtube, sometimes your audio leaves a bit to be desired. (But don't get me wrong, I'm a BIG fan of youtube.)

Okay, I've got that off my chest...This is my new FAVORITE holiday song, period!

The vocalist is GREAT...and the song is touching without being sentimental...

@orangejuicejohnny Hi OJJohnny, I totally agree with you about the song...It's my new favorite holiday song as well. But I do want to address the audio quality issue. If someone submits a video that is somewhat lacking in audio qualiity, there's nothing youtube can do about. Surf youtube enough, and you'll find CD quality videos, some that are barely audible, and a lot that fall somewhere inbetween the two ends of the spectrum. It's not all youtube's fault...

Oh, wow...! This song makes me tear up...Thanks to youtube for making me aware of this great song. Got my own copy on Napster and I'll be listening to it (and, I suppose, tearing up) throughout the holiday season...Another great retro song I found on youtube is Don't Take Your Time by the Match.

You're right, fahgetaboutitpeaceou, the singer sounds very much like the late great Harry Nilsson whose wonderful music was featured in You've Got Mail.

Oh "come" now, come1619. This song is more than "alright." And I can prove it! 1. It made me cry. 2. It brought back Christmas memories. 3. Beautiful melody. 4. Beautiful words. 5. Great recording (wonderful vocal performance, great arrangement). I could go on, but let's just leave it at those 5 reasons.

But come on, Forgetaboutitpeaceou, Paul Williams?!? No way. That's an insult to the singer of this great x-mas tune. Now don't get me wrong. I'm a Paul Williams fan. But even Paul himself would admit that he's not a great singer. I will say this: Williams is arguably one of the greatest living American composers...but a singer he is NOT!

I just downloaded a crystal clear version of this song from Napster. Sorry, Stanforthehollow, but the audio quality of your video leaves just a bit to be desired. The pic is great, though. And I beg to differ with you, Seekingthelight, but I think the singer sounds more like Manilow than Cole. Maybe it's just me.
