@humanprometheo You are basing your opinions strictly on timbre. 16-bit midi was the only means of digital storage at the time. Composers have since evolved to more practical and realistic music due to technological advances, which in return is more meaningful to the general population. You are subject to your own opinions and you are free to express them, but you are not free to tell me that I "do not get it" due to its arrogance, ignorance and insolence. Thank you. - djtiii
Com'on, it's constructive critique. And I am talking about the melodies you added, they don't seem to add anything. And the way you do the arpeggio is suboptimal compared to Koji Kondo's, that's why he picked the original descending arpeggio and not this one, which he probably tried. And actually with such a slow tempo the effect of the arpegio is lost, so it just sounds like another melody you added; which is OK but you lost the armonic function of it, and the goes for velocity, the
if you listen carefully to the original midis, both snes and N64 you will see that the first note is slightly louder than the arpeggio's, that's because, once again, it has an harmonic function. Turining it into melody disrupts the effect and actually erases the simple melody to the ear which consists on the first note of each arpeggio chord.
So I don't think that comparing you to Koji Kondo is arrogance from me, you see ? I didn't compose anything better than you but Koji did.
@humanprometheo The doubled note is harp, most likely for orchestration purposes and being doubled means the note is already there. No harmonies changed. Also, it emphasizes the chromatic motion of the sequence. My arpeggiation is to emphasize the leading tone to the next chord, creating more harmonic motion that what Koji wrote actually, and also emphasizes that pitch. My melody and tempo is identical to that of Zelda's lullaby. In reality, I composed little to nothing. I just stole from Koji.
@djtiii Also, telling someone they do not understand in all caps is not construction. The feed back as to why you feel that way is considerably more useful. The only flaw I can see is that at the time that I wrote this, the top note of the arpeggio is repeated by the first of the next twice. Working on three years of college, I would change that, drop the violin down to its original octave and speed up tempo slightly but not much. It's hardly an arrangement. More of an experiment with color.
@humanprometheo Yes, that's right.... 8- bit music sounds better then actual instrument noises.... beeps and boops sound better then what is obviously a piano.... know nothing knows nothing.
@JuStViCtoR I have gotten a few requests for this and I'm thinking it is time I did so, but I do not know how to make an mp3 and link it! Any suggestions?
@djtiii your program might have a export option which might give you the option, or check the "save as" there it might give you option on how to make an mp3. the download you can have it in megaupload and/or use Microsoft skydrive.hit me up if you need help
Oh wow. XD This is the best remake thus far that I have heard from the Legend of Zelda. So.... So many memories are tied to this single small and short song. *sighs*
i thought that is was amazing but to me it is still missing the pure nostalgia of the original but it was very good. I think your composing is excellent
when i'm sad or angery gets me thru it has peace in every note and it's melody and music like this is once in a blue moon music and u listen till u can't and it's over then u press the replay button and joy, peace and happyness blooms like a a rose in a spring garden soaking every note in as rain drops that is what this song holds inside of it that is what music is all about that is the feeling u should get *goes back into the shadows*
that is what heaven is like *take's a bow and walks away* thx
really amazing arrangement! i loved the slower tempo and the choir in the background. the horn was nice too. and u did this all w/o sounding electronic.
Thank you. Took a bit of time to figure it out and decide what i was going to do, but it was fun. Your post is appreciated. The lack of feedback was beginning to scare me.
I don't know if it's the vibe/feel of the song or poor quality playback, but I still like it.

dude, you just DONT GET IT. This is NOT the spirit of the fairy fountain song.
That crapy SNES midi is still superior to every arrangement people put on youtube.
You have to do a lot more than this to deserve consideration
