This video is not applicable to all and doesn't represent all industries specially here in our country, Republic of the Philippines, because we have Philippine Animal Welfare Society who makes sure that animals are treated equally..
My father is the City Veterinary in our place and i have been in lots of slaughter houses and animals are not treated this way, but that is in our country i don't know with other countries.
Also many wool sheep are intensively farmed in Australia, the Horsham Wool Factory in Victoria, confines up to a thousand odd sheep in small individual pens 24/7 for up to 5 years, these sheep are never allowed out to exercise or even walk on grass, this factory has been exposed many times yet the CEO could not care less, what makes me sick is the sheep he abuses are the same sheep who produce award winning fine fleece. Farmers are lazy it is easier for them to hack at a lambs behind to prevent flystrike (and in actual fact mulesing does not prevent flystrike at all, even mulesed sheep get struck) then regulary inspect sheep during the risk period. If Australian ranchers were in fact looking after their merino sheep like most pets, then the sheep would not suffer from flystrike as it is easily preventable by keeping the sheep clean and inspected, but that requires spraying and bathing the animals. That is right. We can improve. That is why we have technology. However, most farms take great care of animals before they die. I live around farms and they seem happy. I hate people who purposely abuse animals.
I also think many farms treat their animals with care but it still can be better in many cases, like with chickens that are held in cages and can't walk around. They are using film from processing plants that were most likely fined and/or shut down. And notice the double up footage of the same plants and sale barns, thats because THOSE individual places are not complying with what the industry standard is.
99% of packing plants use the safest and humane technology available; many of them are quality controlled as such. There are many no shock plants, both for the animals, and the meat quality. Shocking animals raises the stress, in turn produces less quality meat. Please research both sides of the issue and decide on your own, do not fall into PETAs propaganda lies.

i cryed at this and a cpoule of months ago i decided to stop eating red meat after seeing a cow bein slaughtered but it was way more humane than this first it was stunned and it was totally unconcious and then it had it's throat slit. All animals should be reared on open range (free range) with organic feed and slaughtered humanely! Who cares if it would cost twice as much! They deserve a good life before they're slaughtered and preferably without having to see another animal being slaughtered before it! I eat meat but i rather feed my animals and kill them myself so i know what they ate, how they lived and make sure they have a quick death. (Not for everybody, i know...)
But definitely i don't support this mass exploiting of natural resources. I know there are decent slaughterhouses, but even though the mass production is based on money, not abundance or quality and certainly not ethics. Understand the process, know your food.

The Horsham Wool factory is the ONLY place in Australia were sheep are kept in single pens. I personally think it is disgusting and wrong.
There is 100 million sheep in Australia, so dont think all sheep are kept in sheds because they are NOT.

Also many wool sheep are intensively farmed in Australia, the Horsham Wool Factory in Victoria, confines up to a thousand odd sheep in small individual pens 24/7 for up to 5 years, these sheep are never allowed out to exercise or even walk on grass, this factory has been exposed many times yet the CEO could not care less, what makes me sick is the sheep he abuses are the same sheep who produce award winning fine fleece. This factory has won awards for its fleece several times.

Farmers are lazy it is easier for them to hack at a lambs behind to prevent flystrike (and in actual fact mulesing does not prevent flystrike at all, even mulesed sheep get struck) then regulary inspect sheep during the risk period. It is laziness pure and simple, they have gotten away with mulesing for so long and they cannot stand the fact that they will have to put more time into inspecting their sheep when mulesing is fased out.

Many farmers are working towards mulesing being phased out.
Many farmers now use Pain relief (Tri-Solfen)

If you take issue with "spraying and bathing" sheep as a means to prevent flystrike, then take your case of ignorance and arrogance to the Animal Advisory Committee of New Zealand's Ministry of Agriculture, who published the following with regard to reasonable steps to control flystrike:
"Frequent inspection of sheep to identify early strike cases; dipping/showering/topical application of insecticide repellent at strategic intervals throughout the period of risk"

If Australian ranchers were in fact looking after their merino sheep like most pets, then the sheep would not suffer from flystrike as it is easily preventable by keeping the sheep clean and inspected, but that requires spraying and bathing the animals. Hard to do when only a couple of handlers are tending to a herd of hundreds of sheep.

People blame them for putting down animals but forget that shelters and sanctuaries are full thanks to all the people who dump and abuse animals. My mother was a cow farmer, and she never tortured these cows. It is not in her. We are all animal lovers at my house and we allow neighborhood cats to eat with our cats. We would never hurt an animal. I know for a fact that this video is probably what goes wrong in the processing process. Those animals are shocked then they faint, then they get cut. the thing is, you don't have to kill them, but most people, even "animal lovers", prefer some slaughter to get a great dinner. every form of "farm" is cruel slaughter in my opinion.
anyway, you and many other meat eaters on this page are much more sympathetic than the mass behind the uneducated barbaric comments. thats why i chose to discuss with someone that isn't destroyed.
i really understand people that want to take their life because they're supposed to feel connection in this world.

Do you even know how they kill the animals before they are "slaughtered?" They are shocked so that they do not feel anything. Then their throats are split and then they are butchered. The animals do not feel a thing.
The chickens in this video was taken from spy cameras and those farmers did it wrong. Now, if you watch "Dirty Jobs," they actually show how they took care of chickens. Their cages and pens are cleaned everyday. Pigs have enough room. PETA just wants everyone to turn vegan

What the kicker is, is that we are above animals. We were put on this earth to partake of their meats. Some cases, it is either them or us. I chose to be an omnivore. I take it that you are a herbavore. It is outrageous to say what if someone does it to your child in the future. We are not animals. PETA might beg to differ, however, they are a bunch of hippys.
Our meat industry does not destroy our planet. In a way, it controls the populations from growing out of control.

How do we know we are making the greenhouse gasses? For billions of years there have been forest fires, volcanoes and other disasters throught the years, why didn't those cause "Global Warming?" However, you hippys say that in the 150 years of industrialized society has caused global warming. I find that hard to believe. Sorry, but I believe that the polar ice caps melting and the world heating up is the way nature is. Not us. Besides, I love my jimmys!! MMMM I am going to slap one on!!!

Sorry about the Hippy thing. Anyways, there is nothing wrong with eating meat. We humans have been doing it for years and we will still do it until God comes back. Plus, whether you are a vegetarian, you are still eating meat. When you eat stuff that is packaged, the FDA approves the use of insects to keep food fresh. So, in a way, you are not a true vegetarian.

Eating meat does not mean we can not better the circumstances of animals.
They have feelings, they know pain, sadness, stress.
It's proven their nerve system is sharper than ours. Most see, hear, smell and sense better than we do so they'll experince abuse most probably worse than we do.

I also think many farms treat their animals with care but it still can be better in many cases, like with chickens that are held in cages and can't walk around. Unfortenately there's still too much abuse, YouTube is loaded with vids showing it. Abuse on animals during their shitty life, during transport and slaughter, in labs, with pets and so on.
That's why I recommend eco-meat if people insist on eating meat. And I hope more people speak up against animalabuse and the unnecessary testing

That is why I wish I were rich and I raised my own meat and killed them to ensure they were well taken care of. Of Course, I probably would not kill them because I cannot get myself to do that.

i love animals and i hate seeing them get hurt but i live on a farm in australia and all of our animals are killed humainly if they are killed at all, they are not abused in any way. our animals are also running free in paddoks and my farm is almost 200 hectares and none of this land is out of bounds to them. this kind of treatment is only in America.

What a load of propaganda bullshit. I can tell you first hand that NONE of the things mentioned in the pig section are industry standards or norms. They are using film from processing plants that were most likely fined and/or shut down. And notice the double up footage of the same plants and sale barns, thats because THOSE individual places are not complying with what the industry standard is.

99% of packing plants use the safest and humane technology available; many of them are quality controlled as such. There are many no shock plants, both for the animals, and the meat quality. Shocking animals raises the stress, in turn produces less quality meat. Please research both sides of the issue and decide on your own, do not fall into PETAs propaganda lies.

i cryed at this and a cpoule of months ago i decided to stop eating red meat after seeing a cow bein slaughtered but it was way more humane than this first it was stunned and it was totally unconcious and then it had it's throat slit. And that is way better than wat these poor animals endure for us to eat them. I always eat free range chicken so i think tjats ok but the pork seriously scared me and i don't know if wat we get is free range but i am seriously considering bein veggie

I eat meat but i rather feed my animals and kill them myself so i know what they ate, how they lived and make sure they have a quick death. (Not for everybody, i know...)
But definitely i don't support this mass exploiting of natural resources. I know there are decent slaughterhouses, but even though the mass production is based on money, not abundance or quality and certainly not ethics. Understand the process, know your food.
