  • I want to train at wudang one day, but do you have to study their religious beliefs? Could I just go and live there to learn Kung Fu?

  • I hate the way the Asians beat the shit out of kids... I get the temptation, but I hate that they act on it. 30 lashings with a rod b/c a bed wasn't made right? BULLSHIT!

  • @Aramis2000 his master warned him... you have to understand that it is a system that requires a lot of discipline, it used to be a military training for ancient warriors, sorry if my english is bad :P

  • What style of martial arts do the Wudang Monks practice? Is it considered Northern or Southern styles?

  • @hibyeeee2 from what I see there are elements of both. It seems to me that Shaolin, Wudang, and Emei all have elements of both.

  • WuDangShan aint nothin to fuck wit

  • shaolin monk t-shirts:

    sunarmy.co.uk

  • I want to be a kung fu master but here in texas their is not many school please help!

  • sum nuns in wudang r soo hornyyyyyyy.. u will get the best fuck of ur life hehehehe

  • @azlbek Well I do intend to make one pilgrimage in my lifetime, I guess that is useful if its true, lol.

  • if this is a documentary in Portuguese?

  • i heard wu dang and shaolin temple were the leaders of kang-ho

  • Fucking hell...its so fucking obnoxius the accent the dubbers fake...FUCK NGO...why dont they just put subtitles in english istead of this lack of respect? The whole thing is to farfetched...

  • the real kung fu is still there. It just isnt taught openly. Not hard to figure that out, That goes for Shaolin and Wudang. *bows* Live well, train well.

  • A lot of the real kung fu masters left china and went to Hong Kong, Macau, The US even Viet-Nam.. some stayed in china and would teach to their sons in secret.

  • @Frequent2001

    to the US ?? lol

most went to hong kong and taiwan.

actually the forms taught at wudang are very offensive. most schools there teach the applications of the taolus. and there is sanda training as well.

  • most of the real kung fu masters left china and went to Macau, Hong Kong, Viet-Nam and even in the US (san fransisco) to teach, some in secret, some opened schools. Some stayed in china and teached their sons and daughters.

  • do you think the chinese government who is so scared of their own people would allow anyone to teach in china if the skill was really genuine? as far as the wudang schools and the wushu schools in china, (like the beijing wushu team etc.) its a great workout, its beautiful, gracious, etc.. but as far as kung fu goes, as far as the offensive applications go, it was all removed. The government made sure of it when they allowed whoever to teach in china.

  • @Frequent2001 yeh, because we all know that a great martial artist provides a great risk in undermining the well armed and well surrounded authority. People in power fear not one mans power, but his capability of empowering the masses. And so the are more afraid of words than fists. People who emigrated weren't better martial artists and old frame martial arts aren't better than new frame. It all depends on the lineage and the pugilist himself. I'm tired of your rhetoric time and time again.

  • @micsir888

Obviously you don't know anything about history, this isnt rethoric its stating out the true facts.

  • @Frequent2001 I know enough to understand that you're history! I also know enough to understand that the only part of what you said, that isn't rhetorical is the fact that I answered your unreliable, unfounded and feeble claim at understanding the state of martial arts as you know it.

  • @micsir888

Actually you don't know crap, why don't you look it up for yourself before talking here you moron.

  • @micsir888

If it the crap they teach in shaolin and wudang right now was really authentic, (and it isnt, the communists made sure that all of the real offensive applications were removed, making the style into a sort of dance, a mere sport) then how come they don't teach it in the army?

You can see they removed the offensive applications just by watching the forms, and using logic.

  • @Frequent2001

    Question.

How are you qualified to make that assumption?

  • @Frequent2001 how do u know the real deal? have u rvrn been to any one of the places? and hav u studied there? no so delete ur bullshits.

  • @obsidianstatue just look it up you simple minded fuck.. you have hands and a brain..

  • @obsidianstatue just look it up you simple minded fuck..

  • @micsir888

In order to standardize tai chi chuan for wushu tournament judging, and because many of the family tai chi chuan teachers had either moved out of China or had been forced to stop teaching after the Communist regime was established in 1949, the government sponsored the Chinese Sports Committee, who brought together four of their wushu teachers to truncate the Yang family hand form to 24 postures in 1956.

  • @Frequent2001 True, what helped wudan was it became a world heritage site in the 90's. Maoist fucks cant touch it without pissing off alot of ppl.

  • its funny how national geographic will post any propaganda fed by the chinese central government and make a tv show about ti, and present it as facts.

  • SCHOOL for 3 hours every day and 6 hours of Kung fu WOOOw lucky kids ( their kung fu is good )

  • llevo un año practicando el tai chi de wudang y es alucinante,

  • Yeah, I know. I've got a lot of trash talk on my kung fu from people who never worked a day in their life to gain anything and essentially cannot even walk properly.

  • Ironic you should say that since for me kung fu is part of why i can move so much better in many regards. I was born with cerebral palsy. Its a light case by comparison to many but doctors told me I couldnt study back when I was a kid and once upon a time got a lot of hell about it. Those days are long gone now. I train, I spar with friends here and there, and whenever someone minlessly slams the old ways, I just chuckle.

  • Finally! Someone decides to make a documentary about Wudang and not Shaolin! Yay! Way to go, National Geographic.

  • both deserve their props. Just wish it hadnt taken crouching tiger to make this happen.

  • Omfg... those cheesy sound effects they added are painful -_-

  • Yeah.. that ruined it

  • good

  • XuZhangWang and markohu

    stop the hating -_-

    Disneyland is disneyland.

Shaolin and Wudang are great kung fu styles, plz dont mock them.

  • Agree 10000%

no Gung Fu should be mocked.

  • I agree with you as well ;)

  • Ah friends, it is easy to sit in a chair and type negative remarks about this good style. It is another to do something in life your self. Deep down haters know this and enjoy boiling the blood of the disciplined. :) For they know they choose to do little else.

  • i agree, most people who have something negative to say about another person and their art, in actuality have no experience and knowledge whatsoever in it.

  • I agree with you both. In real life, I practice Wudang Kung Fu, and I trained very hard. Now, I'm taking a short brake, although I'm training with my brother in Shaolin. I have often been criticized for my form, by people who have never practiced martial arts or those who have gained the brown belt and still do not understand their efficiency and power (and still can't defend themselves against a common bum). It is hard, but our perseverance and dedication are what they really hate us for.

  • Yes, most key board warriors who type insulting comments have never been in a survival situation and base what they believe about martial arts on sport competitions they see on T.V. I admit many style have become watered down, but this complete lack of respect for our fellow human beings is getting very old. Martial arts has been reduced to trash talking, macho immaturity. What happened to honor and respect?

  • Most traditional art videos have these modern loud mouths. These idiots watch UFC and then go around trash talking anything that looks traditional. It is due to fools like this in modern society that some of the real old masters stay hidden from the public. Take John Chang for example. He exposed his powers but decided to retreat when he realised the drama it would cause

  • I agree with the lack of respect today. As far as John Chang, I know of an indecent when he was graciously invited to demonstrate his ability to light paper on fire, but he choose to refuse because it would be tested. An Illusionist performed the same thing using chemicals and it looked just like John Changs demonstration. Something to think about. If you want to know how it is done send me a private message.

  • Support you! Immortal and buddha was from the same family!

  • @ZeroDavids7

learn your history instead of posting crap without any knowledgable background

  • the shaolin temple is more like Disneyland

  • that doesnt make any sense, they can both kick butt so who cares, its not a compatition...anyone who takes kung fu should know that your not supposed to spark controversy

  • The english teacher is very beautifull!

  • Wudang looks like a Chinese Disneyland.

  • This is sillly. I feel like I'm watching a video game. National Geographic has sunk to new lows in misrepresenting history for viewership.

  • The typical tourist to China well probably never see anythig clse to what was presented in this National Geographic clip. This clip was to satisfy those with a Disneyish/Romantic view of what China is in their minds, not as to what China is today.

  • yes agreed a great film indeed

  • This video shows insight into wudang and it's progress while still keeping it's heritage firm. Thanks do much for posting this most excellent video.

  • Great series. Thanks for posting.
