  • I seen this movie in biology a few days ago its a pretty sad movie

  • I watched Lorenzo's Oil in Biology Class today.

I thought it was an amazing and emotional dramatic movie with good acting proformances and good directing by George Miller.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

  • Watched this in DLAPS Chem class and was a great hear wrenching movie.

  • i also watched it today in my biology class for finals and it was a sad but touching movie

    i love it :D

  • I'm watching this and Biology and I cry whenever he has the seizures. It's just so heartwrenching. The screams go right through you.

  • Most doctors just want to keep their reputation. They treat patients as test subjects for their own selfish benefits..

  • Thumbs up if PAUL brought you here.

  • ...so, how is this film R? I don't remember anything adult in it.

  • This trailer looks hilarious

  • Futures Bright Past Positive (google us) are trying to raise money to save a 5 year old Argentine boy who has adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) to send him to Minnesota for a bone marrow transplant that could save his life. Please help us go to the site and check out the video of poor Thomy. Don't let another child die of this rare but incurable disease. Respect and thanks for reading this.

  • saw this in biology class... then we watched Extraordinary Measures. this movie was better in that the other one was more about an odd pair's struggle to get along whereas i see that this one is more about the parents' struggle to help their precious child. This one was better.

  • @BabySaxaphone I agree!!!! You can't compare this movie with extraordinary measures, Lorenzo's oil is about 1000 millions times better. this is the most touching movie I've ever watched, couldn't stop crying. It was this and my sister's keeper.

  • Just imagine what horrible situation would we have today,if it wasn't for those remarkable people! It makes you wonder do we really know the truth ..how many people die of curable illness...??Why is that so..Couse this story would have turned out that way.

  • So many spelling and grammatical errors on this comment board. Is this it for Youtube? Has it officially been overrun by America/5th graders? Or is it just common now to try and seem as uneducated as possible online?

Seriously Youtube, lets raise the age requirement to 30-40.

  • One of my all time FAV movies EVER. Hands down.

The music, the story... Just breathtaking. Not for morrons.

  • we watched this in our chemistry,,(for some purposes in our subject)

    this really is so ,....sad

  • 3 peoples have BUBU

  • this is such an interesting movie !

  • This movie is great!! it's a true inspiring story about 2 parents who watch the horror of their son's health decline due to an illness called ALD. These parents literally study and read and find a cure for there sons illness. Which ends up helping millions of children with ALD to this day. Everyone needs to watch this movie, because this is also a movie about real love and how powerful it can be when put to the test. GREAT MOVIE!

  • im watching this in chemistry and some idiot in my class was like OMG CAN'T HE JUST DIE ALREADY?! and im like ):<<<<<<<<<<

  • I dont care what nationality Nick Nolte is portraying in this movie. His accent is hilarious regardless. And its just a fact that the best movies in the world come from the U.S. Or atleast the majority anyway. Us Canadians make awesome movies about hockey and donuts though! Oh and I guess Titanic was made by a Canadian aswell... Avatar, Terminator...

  • this is sad and it was base on a true story R.I.P Lorenzo<3

  • @Jawbreakr69 he doesn't die?

  • epic movie

  • In reallity, Augusto Odone was awarded an honorary medical degree. He well deserved it for his amazing efforts, determination, and perseverance...it is extraordinary all what he did.

  • i think that both nolte (the father) and Lorenzo played their parts very well, it was devastating to see lorenzo when he would choke on his own spit, just as it was heartbreaking to see nolte in his endless search for a cure

  • Personally i respect this movie and what it's trying to do, but it's just really poorly executed. The actor playing the father gives a terrible and hilarious performance, the mother is bland as hell, the dialog is crap and the cinematographic angles are just plain weird. I was surprised to see that so many people liked it... I'm happy it touched some people, at least

  • @VinceInChains you really think they didn't do a gud job! wat do u think the actual parents must have gone through when their child was suffering fron this......this is a real story & the actors played it very real!

  • @potterati101 The editing was horrible, the dialog was boring, and Nolte's acting as amazingly entertaining; but for the wrong reasons. I get that the parents went through all that shit, but they executed this film in the wrong way alltogether.

  • @VinceInChains lol your brain is different the father was not hilarious in any way he was the star in the movie in my opinion this was an epic movie and im sad that your brain is o fucked up that u cant see or understand it

  • @copperhead88 baha alright buddy, you can tell me i'm fucked up, but i really don't care. This movie is just plain weird, they took a serious concept and brought in Nick Nolte's horrible acting, making something that i can't take seriously. Quit talking shit, cuz i haven't said anything to you

  • @VinceInChains hes italian in that movie italiens talk like that he talked like a true professor

  • @VinceInChains best actress and 4 stars really says it all so urrrrr fuckeeedd uppppp

  • @copperhead88 baha good job, bud, you went on Google, looked up the movie and copied to words off the screen. Im crically analyzing this film myself, using my own mind, and your just blindly following whatever the bullshit critics out there say

get a life bud, cuz we all know you don't have one if you're actually starting shit with me over this movie.

  • @VinceInChains no u stupid cunt I watched this trailer -_- and I think myself that this is an awesome movie I even got tears but dude... I just saw u were canadian so I can understand why you thought the italiano guy was funny.... im swedish and I HATE to watch swedish movies when they talk in swedish I cant take them seriously at all.... xD only american movies or others that ISNT in my language so I get you man I get you.... im so glad I wasnt born american or canadian or english

  • @copperhead88 because the best movies are from america at least what I know of

  • @copperhead88 oh that's cool, bring my country into this, too. Do what you want, chief, i'm done arguing with you.

  • @copperhead88 wtf nick nolte man he was grat in that movie so emotional he did grat man ur more fucked up than i thought pls kill yoursel now

  • @copperhead88 great typing with 1 hand haha

  • Lorenzo Odone himself has been dead for a little bit less than 3 years now

  • I only serched this after watching paul.

  • Lorenzo Zoil

  • Why do they not give any acting credit hardly to the kid, he made some damn convincing tantrums, I sure couldnt do that. I usually forgot that it was actually an actor

  • @coolmanjack1995 i totally agree! just seeing that kid in that state was heartbreaking!

  • Briilaint

  • omg i watched this movie n i couldnt stop crying.....i didnt even watch all of it....

  • lol southpark

  • This movie is depressing im also watching it in biology its hard to watch

  • @eminem4shizle1 I've been watching it in biology for two days now and I have to keep looking down at my paper to stop me from crying. By the end of the class period, my eyes were stinging so badly

  • @eminem4shizle1 lol, I had to watch this in biology as well and was very suprised at the heavy atmosphere of the film.

  • @rancorslayer184 I watched it in biology also. It was an interesting film.

  • @eminem4shizle1 lol i'm here cuz of biology too. i admire the actor playing lorenzo's acting skills. a lot of people in my class really thought he had the disorder.

  • @eminem4shizle1 looool!me too..my biology teacher told me to watch it..

  • Aww too bad that kid died, he died like three years ago

  • @superfighter133

He really died? Omg that so sad.

  • @-JackTheCuber u go to CMSA?

  • were watching this in my bio class. its fucked up/

  • Mentioned on Christopher Reeve at the Oscars.

  • this was sooo sad!

  • Do you remember....

    1. When you could get on youtube without a huge ad at the top of your homepage?

    2. When EVERY music video was from a user, not Vevo?

    3. When you could use it as a music player without having an ad in the beginning of a music vid?

    4. When copyright infringement wasn't a big deal?

    5. When it was YOUtube?

Copy and paste onto videos telling youtube how PISSED we, the YOU in YOUtube, are with their greedy corporate butts

  • this movie makes me feel like shit how we take our lives for granted and kids and parents go through this every fucking day

  • I guess im in the list of watching this movie in Biology o.0

Great and powerful movie though, shows that we should all appreciate our lives more :l

  • This movie was based off my grandpa's research. I've never seen it personally, but I think 0:27 is supposed to be my grandfather, Hugo. Lol.

  • @bigredjew Peter Ustinov's character is based off of your grandfather?

  • @ExplorerDS6789 Yeah. Dr. Hugo Moser, M.D. He was a neurologist who worked for the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Sadly, he passed away in January of 2007.

  • @bigredjew Sorry to hear that. Now, was his portray of the movie similar to who he was in real life or was it exaggerated.

  • @ExplorerDS6789 To my mere surprise, it really isn't exaggerated. My grandfather wasn't the kind to yell or raise his voice. He was always serene and calm about things. Unfortunately I was only a year old when this film was made, and I had never seen it myself, however Peter Ustinov actually reminded me of my grandfather, so I'd say he did pretty good.

  • @bigredjew Well you should be VERY proud x

  • @Rachiejane1 Lol sorry to take long to reply. I am very proud of my grandpa. I'm even more proud to have his name as my middle name.

  • this is the best movie!!

my bio teacher let us watching this movie in class..it was awesome ^^

  • just finished watching this film.....and i seriously thank the lord God for how lucky i am, no longer gonna take my life for granted. this movie is soo moving and seriously inspiring. i really hoped the real life lorenzo regained his naturally bodily functions before he died but sadly wasnt the case.

God bless his parents for their will to carry on when every specialist told them no.

lesson to all: never give up tryin in the face of adversity!!!!

  • very sad movie...

  • cool movie, saw it on #FTW Go Movie World . com #CUTE

  • Life has meaning Only in the struggle ! Triumph or Defeat is in the hands of the GOD ! SO Let us Celebrate the struggle !!!

  • Must have been so hard for Lorenzo to lose his beloved mother at age 22. He died at 30. May They Both R.I.P.

  • This is a truly touching movie, especially for all those parents who can relate to Lorenzo's Mom and Dad.

    Thanks so much for posting!

  • i watched this this week during science

  • ADL is a recessive gene right..thats why it can only turn on in mostly boys? but what if michaela was homozygous with the recessive for AD, would she have gotten the disease too?

  • @JOxSOxFINEx21x She can't, as this disease is transferred through the X and Y chromosomes, and since girl's have two X chromosomes, one from their dad and one from their mother, her dad would need to have ALD which is clearly impossible. Boys on the other hand have one X and one Y, they get the Y from their dad and the X from their mom, in this case their heterozygous mother.

  • what was wrong with him?

  • The movie is great but damn it is so sad... I got mad at some dude in my science class (Biology, we are going to learn about A.L.D) For laughing at the father crawling down the stairs in tears. There wasn't anything funny about the movie. But damn that is the best/saddest movie (We cannot forget it was based on a true story) ever... It just makes me hope that I can be a good father to the kids I will have in the future.

  • This movie showed how lucky i am..............

and that we should live our lifes to the fulliest

  • @azny21 i just watched the film now and feel exactly the same way.

  • i cryed threw the whole thing so sad

  • Is the little boy from the movie a actor ? Cause i can't find him anywhere

  • I'm sorry but Nick Nolte's accent is HILARIOUS.

  • this movis is so sad

  • Just found where to watch m the movie online @ MOOV ZON,COM g00gle the link above

  • watched this movie when i was in school, but the projector made everything tinted blue.. so i thought it had some sort of special meaning, like spread of the disease .. but it was a great movie otherwise

  • this movie is so saddddd!

  • the sad part is that lorenzo died in his

    30s by choking

and his mother died from second hand smoke

thats what my biogloy teacher told me

  • His mother died from cancer.

  • Lorenzo died when he was 29.

his mother was actually the smoker in real life not his dad.

and she developed lung cancer and she died really early when he got better .

  • actual he died 1 day after his 30th birthday in 2008

  • i watched it in science

[ back in middle school ]

    touching. very touching.

  • the parents in the movie work so hard to help their son to get better... soo sad X')

  • Midnight Sun!!

  • we watched this movie in biology. i didnt get to see the first part because i was sick but we finnished the movie today and i say its a really good movie

  • Yeah we watched this in my AP Bio class too. It was SO powerful! It's truely inspiring. I love it, lol.

  • They don't make movies like this anymore.

Movies about powerful stories and heart wrenching emotion.

I read the Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich too. I can see how the parents were able to find the oil as well. They obviously had step 1 and 2 nailed down. The PPAs led them to the SPA. They were naturally persistent and were using the natural process of goal achievement without even knowing it.

  • Nick Nolte's accent...

  • Such an inspirational movie about a parent's love and never giving up. I cried when I watched it too.

If you like inspirational movies like this, you should read The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich. It shows you the natural process of goal achievement and after you read it, go back and watch this movie and you'll see exactly how the parents were able to use it to naturally achieve their goal of finding the oil to help their son.

  • Good movie, but this is NOT the original Trailer. The trailer for the film had no dialogue or subtitles, and was edited to an amazing piece of music that totally swept you off your feet. So many of the patrons at the theater I saw it in practically stood up and cheered. But for some reason, it's not on the DVD and it's not here. Can ANYONE tell me where I can see the original trailer for Lorenzo's Oil?

  • If you rent or buy the dvd it would have the original and I do agree the music for the original trailer was pretty good

  • ive never seen this movie and frankly i've never herd of it. how odd! i thought i knew movies. what is this film about?
