I hich hiked to Chicago's old town back in 1967 after I closed the head shop I was working in Lake Geneva with a Playboy bunny and went to Pipers Alley in Chgo and bought The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, which included See Emily Play and bought Terry Reid/ Bang Bang your Terry Reid. Made it back home (in the rain) and played both albums on my turntable. Freaked Out when we herd Floyd for the first time. Bought every album since.
this song makes me cry, it was my uncles favorate songe and we played it at him funeral this and always look on the brightside of life hehe miss you gus love you, you were like a best mate aswell as the best uncle LOVE YOU GUS!!! XXXXX
my friends always said you have to look this up it is called "See Emily Play" and my one freind made me listen to it, now it is one of my fav songs, I asked my dad if he knew this song, and I was born to this song, BOOYAA!! :D
The first time I heard this song was in the fall of 1974. I will never, ever forget it, and each time I hear it, it takes me back to that moment. With headphones on, at a very pleasant volume, I couldn't get over the harmonies and the sounds within it. I liked Pink Floyds earliest stuff, with Syd Barrett. Excellent tune, even though the lyrics are pretty weird.
Exact same thing happened to me, I swear! First time hearing this...headphones plus a hit of acid! Harmonies and melodies STILL in my head! Love this music.

Pink Floyd didn't exist in 1964. In fact, they didn't write a single song until late '65.
