  • The best I have heard since David Oistrakh, and I happen to like Hiliary's performance somewhat better. A higher compliment is not possible.

  • Impresionante version de Hilary Hahn! !!!!! un Prokofiev perfecto.

  • Wonderful performance. It is a real privilidge to listen Hilary.

  • I think the one who don't like this piece can't rad and he presed the wrong button

  • That melody at 0:36 really gets me, it's such a rich drop of color.

  • Actually, Tempo Primo (the middle part of this movement) is sightly too fast. If she slows down, I think the effect will be more perfect. By the way, she is really the best interpetion of this piece.

  • un violon magique !

  • I LOVE HILARY HAHN FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER T-T

  • Love her and her playing. And even when I am not a great fan of Prokofiev, this violin concerto has a particular charm.

  • i wish i was there!!! i wish i was there ><!

  • They don't feel Prokofiev!

    Play only notes...

    Here video, the present Prokofiev!!!!!

  • @KellyFotini i completely agree. i recently saw another video of her playing prokofiev's first violin concerto on youtube. still amazing, but nowhere near as good as this performance.

  • it sucks she didnt make this into a album :(

  • This makes me happy for the future of music.

  • I love U so much!!!!!!!! Hilary!!!!!!!!! :-D

  • sounds like she is just improvising random notes, but sounds great!!

  • The buildup to 05:40 and onward... OMG!

  • You have no idea how difficult it is to memorize, much less perform this type of music. She IS incredible.

  • love the piece, but not the ending, cuz why would someone end their concerto so soft. it sound be a movement where to be the best. To get your audience's attention.

  • @kuvhlubkojibleegxwbo

I love more unusual endings for example. And Prokofiev's one is fantastic.

  • Hi, does anyone know what the fingering and articulation is called at 6:28-6:38? I have always wondered and because I have never seen it elsewhere in music.

  • @mr00aznkid Looks to me like slurred string crossings with the top note trilled...

  • @mr00aznkid they are finger tremolos between demisemiquavers

  • everything about this is perfect

  • Really good female violinists are sooo sexy!

  • @violinromero cierto!

  • I would really like Hahn to record both of Prokofiev's violin concertos. I would also like to hear her perform Myaskovsky's, Bartok's, Szymanowski's, Dvorak's, Martinu's, all of Vivaldi's (including Four Seasons), Tchaikovsky's, Korngold's, among others.

She is simply one of the best violinists performing today.

  • @bluemonk82 she recorded Tchaikovsky

  • Hilary is beyond amazing!

  • This is such a Brilliant piece - full of fantastic melodies and interesting rhythms and the orchestration is sublime and

    Hahn´s performance is mindblowing.

  • Hilary's violin words struck my heart!!!

Thank you so much for your work.

  • beautifullllllll°

  • Prokofiev is proof that tonality in musical composition is very far from being exhausted. His invention is everything that can be expected of serious music. and on top of that, to be hypnotically beauttiful to boot, is almost too much to believe. But Prokofiev does it.

  • Those words almost brought tears to my eyes T_T

  • Thank you. It's gratifying to learn that one's comments are actually read. I take it that you agree, and I'm very glad; as my comments were heartfelt and sincere. JD

  • Very true, so very true.

  • @johndega The place to find beautiful yet odd and original melodic music today, is in film. youtu.be/watch?v=CMFlBqZ8vb0

  • I think I'm in love! <3

A bon entendeur salut

  • @gnomefou I disagree

  • Prokofiev, Hahn, Jarvi a trinity. Jarvi is great, I love his interpretations of Sibelius.

Hahn is more than the sum of her parts.

    Her expressive and interprative genius:

    matchless.

  • I like to dance with this, starting from 1:35, even if I don't know how to. :-D

  • I enjoy her playing and demanour equally. She always applauds the orchestra graciously, and her smile is as charming as her playing is mesmerizing. Her panache and assurance reflect her technical facility and genuineness; she affects no falseness or emotionalism. Surely she is becoming one of the great players of the modern age.

  • My only possible response is a belly laugh of JOY ! The music has no peer. However, I would like to draw and quarter the mouse responsible for the video being out-of-synch early, as were the first two in the series.

  • 5:46 gave me chills ^_^

  • I LOVE YOU HILARY !!! :-)

  • I love this movement :D

  • This is musical composition at its best. And Ms Hahn plays it like a great singer.

    Prokofiev is utterly tops.

  • Comment removed

  • the ending of this movement just transports me to another world, really intense,

  • One of my teachers described everything after the first page (here at about 3 minutes) as "delirium," which I think fits it perfectly.

  • The opening of this movement always reminds me of Peter and the Wolf!

  • that typical for Prokofiev

  • My favorite concert i think!!!

  • a great violinst

  • The most beautiful violin concerto of the 20th century, in my opinion. Wish the harp was more audible--ending wasn't as magical as I'd hoped, but great performance, nonetheless.
