Je crois que peu de musiciens ont su décrire avec ce lyrisme et cette sorte de désespérance, la passion, les joies et les tourments de l'amour. Les thèmes de cette partition, comme de ses symphonies, de ses ballets etc sont toujours bouleversants de beauté. Mélodiste et orchestrateur hors pair, Tchaïkovski a influencé des compositeurs de musiques de films tels que Alfred Newman, Max Steiner, Miklos Rozsa.... La direction du grand Valery Giergiev apporte ici une force et une émotion inouïes.

That harp is WAAAY over-balanced at 10:08!! Maybe it's too close to a mic or something...I don't know

@Nohshing I have to disagree. The dynamics marking for the harp in that section is piano and the bassoon solo there is mezzo-forte. The bassoon is supposed to stand out more. Then again, it may be a technical issue here as it is a live recording.
