You should deinterlace while doubling the frame rate (see tutorials on this for the program TMPGEnc) and then import into a 24p timeline. You would get your full 240fps which would look amazing, I think. Try it!
@iSOBigD hey man might I ask what kind of tripod your using, your shots are incredibly smooth its ridiculous, Im trying to replace my unsmooth/jerky tripod with a more professional one.
@dothisdothat321 Hi. I actually didn't use a tripod for any of these shots. Since I shot them at high-speed, each shot only lasted a few seconds in real-time. That, combined with the camera's image stabilization (which is great), keeps most shots from being shaky even if I walk around, unless I'm zoomed in a lot.
With that said, I normally use a tripod I had for my digital camera, which is a metal tripod worth maybe $150 and I improvise a lot (put my camera on objects for support, etc.)
@dothisdothat321 By that way, go on the B&H Photo Video website, they have tons of camera equipment usually at good prices and that's where I bought my camcorder from as well.
@Supersonic8t7 Thanks. Once I get more footage of insects I'll show off the true video quality this camera has. When you record at 1920x1080 at 60 fps it looks way, way better because it lets more light in and there's a lot less noise. :)
@iSOBigD Yeah I can imagine, whats the aperture like on it? I'm assuming for Macro work it'd be around F2.0.. Or doesnt it say? I've not used many VidCams's .. I'm more of a DSLR man xD
@Supersonic8t7 I know a lot more about DSLRs too, in fact I'm trying to buy a Canon 5D Mark II if I can. :D But yeah, it doesn't show me the ISO, shutter speed or aperture while recording so I really don't know what it is. It looks nice visually though, the bokeh effect is on par with that of my camera except I can do videos of things really close to the lens, which I couldn't do with my camera.
According to Sony, it's "F1.8 to 3.4" overall though.
@iSOBigD The 5D is a nice cam! I'd love a Full Frame too but my Nikon D5000 is pretty good and I can get similer effects to your video if I use my 35mm f1.8 prime that gives some nice bokeh... only problem is it HAS to be at 1.8 all the time haha.
@Antoneey Yeah. I've just always wanted the 5D and I might be able to get it for like 1/3 of the price cause I'd never pay $3000 for a camera. I'm not a fan of buying $1000 lenses either, but we'll see...I definitely wish this camcorder had even more manual settings though, but I don't think Sony releases firmware updates too often.
