Yes we want a leader who will tell us the truth, but more than that, we want a leader that will act upon it. As an independent voter, I've seen the President lay out broad, beautiful visions for the future in his speeches, but then he goes back to his Oval office and doesn't really try to do anything about the current situation. What little he does try to do, gets shot down by the Tea Party. As dissapointed as I am in Obama, its the TP and the Repub that back them that have my full ire right now

What do you think this does to people? Gone are the daily routine of Dad's home at the same time every day, the yearly family vacation, the security of having a retirement w/o poverty. Voting seems pretty pointless now. There was a ridiculous amount of energy to reform Washington during the '08 election and absolutely NOTHING came of it, though the voters gave it a mandate. What other option does the average American citizen have but to take to the streets?

When people vote, they don't bother to do background checks on leaders to see if they are lying (as this is remarkably easy to figure out) so they vote by just what the person says at the time. Obama was and has always been a pushover, but no one called it out until it was far too late.
