@RoyOnsXboxlive That's not true, because once you traverse the light, it doesn't show up again. So either the game only needs to render things once (even after you turn off your Xbox) or that's not what the white light is for. I'm pretty sure the white light is just there to scare you.

there are advantages to having humanity in you:

it increases item drop rates, making more items drop more often (useful for early baulder farming)

it raises your resistance to curses

can scale damage in certain cases

so yea, using your humanity can be bad, but so can hoarding unused ones!

There are messages like "Take one more step" when you are next to a cliff, or "Attack" when you are in front of an NPC. They look like bs, but in fact they are good, because if you fall you will get some treasure and if you kill that NPC you will get some awesome item.

@KingCheesyPants Haven't played Dark Souls, but here's what the wiki says: "Bought from the Undead Merchant Male and allows the player to rate/make comments on the ground for other players. Only needs to be bought once and then can be used infinite times. To rate a message, walk close to the message, use this item and the player will get the option to rate + or - a comment."

Easy way to tell if a comment is developer-based or player-based is to press 'A' to read message and, while reading message, press Back button. If a rating screen pops up then it was a player message, but if nothing happens then it was a developer message. Good to know, right?

Also, developers' messages will generally have graphics in them for the various bumpers and triggers whereas player messages will not. If it sounds like basic tutorial, it's hard-wired. Anything else, player-based.

@117Madness as soon as you traverse the white light turn right and climb up the tower and kill the two guys. Then trigger the bull demons approach and IMMEDIATELY run all the way back to the ladder and climb up. Then wait until the bull demon is directly below and is LOOKING UP AT you (you must also be locked onto him.) Then jump down on his head and mash the RB or R1 button (quick attack). Once you fall down run between his legs and run far away, and then run back to the ladder and repeat.
