People the only difference between a TV & monitor is nothing but a Coaxial cable jack that you dont even need , Dont be fooled and you dont need a box just hook up your computer to the TV and bang your good to go.
its not a copy of jadoo TV .. Jadoo Tv is a copy/modification of VuNow.. lol.. Jadoo is good except for channel links are broken every week! I am sure this thing has the same issue. other than that its good invention.
thx so the channel links are broken every week. that means out of the thousand u will constatly have to add channels onto the subcrptions? How abt the quality to watch cricket? and whats beeter to get HD or SD.
quality to watch cricket is just as good as any streaming channels.. its doable can't complain. As to which one you should.. well if you have high def. television then you should get the one with HDMI hook up which is HD box and if you dont have high-definition television then save money and get the SD box. I have HD one because if I decided to update my television in future then I wont have to worry about it.
can you actually goto any website and watch live streaming video..for eg I would like to watch live streaming Turkish tv from turkish website is that possible...
Tivo records shows, this does not. As for Apple TV it was a big flop, and for good reason, cause apple products are generally overpriced, underpowered, dressed up shit.
You can do that on your computer, or laptop, or Netbook, or Wii, or PS3, or PS2(With PS2 Linux Kit). If your gonna try and come back with the HD argument, you can hook your computer threw your HD TV with a good Video card, and HDMI or DVI cable, or even VGA cable like my Polaroid HDTV, and get higher rez, then standard 720i/p, and 1080i/p. Hell John Logie Baird invented 1000 scanline HDTV back in 1946/47, but was never adopted. This box is total crap.
by going to Hulu, or ABC, or NBC's websites. DUH!!! If you will not let you then get a IP mask program, that makes it look like your in the US. Everyone knows that. Also they will not be live, and this will not do live TV, it does streaming TV off that are on the internet already. You laptop can do that and much much more. If your an APPLE IDIOT get it off ITUNES. Which I hate btw.
Don't coun't on being able to mod like the XBMC, you would have to flash a rom chip with a new program. I also don't think comming from Netgear it's gonna be an opensource rom. For your money your gonna be better off with the XBMC, or a PC hooked to your HDTV.
For me personally, i would just build a really good AMD based PC in a small/mid sized case with a good ATI video card with DVI and HDMI ports on the cards or adaptors for HDMI, and a TV Tuner Card, and at least 3gigs of ram, and make sure it's cooled really well. Running WinXP Media Center. Make sure you have no less then a 250GB 7200RPM HD. Custom build Media pc's are the best way to go , as you get more value, and you can do more with them just watching movies, etc..
Also wanted to add they make a great 2nd backup machine as well. most of the AMD boards also have good enough onboard Audio, so no need to upgrade. AMD machines also last a really long time, and are generally easier on the wallet, then Intel based systems, and give as good of performance for the average user. :-) If your really looking to save money wait on the VIA Nano desktop boards to come out, and upgrade the video there.
call me crazy, but i can build a cheap Linux box for that, or get a decent Emachines PC with Vista on it for that. In fact last year i did just that from Tiger. LMAO and I it hooked to my HDTV. My cost by the time i did my own updates/upgrades was only about $50 more.
Can you see internet TV, HULU, PGA, access multiple movie providers legally, and Internet TV sites with HDMI connectivity and have the user interface experience I doubt it.
Yes there are PC video cards with HDMI output, and some can do higher resoultions then HDMI. :-). and yes you can legally. Netflix streams direct to PC. Far as the user interface, from what i saw, to me it kind of sucks. BTW HULU works right on my PC 24/7, and GOLF SUCKS.
The cards you are talking about are larger then the unit. Additionally, this streams HDMI 720 to the home theatre not on the PC. It takes content from your network and the internet. It is plug and play. It sees everything on your network. You can watch on the home theatre Hulu and other channels including golf, basketball, and many others. The interface is easy! That's why it was one of the most popular items at the Consumer Electronics show.
I Never said the cards where smaller then the box, and they can do HDMI 1080i/1080P, and my PC can do the same things as the box and then some. Also Popular does not always mean great, or worth $200. The way the economy is going, i see more people buying/building multipurpose PC's then getting this box.
another one of my favorite things, and another one of my favorite things, and another one of my favorite things, and another one of my favorite things, and another one of my favorite things, and another one of my favorite things... Stop saying that! >=(
We were using DSL. I have been using DSL on the unit I have at home and streaming channels. During the show we were watching French TV. It was crystal clear.
yeah, i said the dsl in nz (new zealand). ie the country that really needs to be able to stream different channels as our own are useless, but the internet is so slow here that it wouldn't work =[
i mean unless i do it at midnight, i have to wait like 15 mins for a 'high quality' video thats 3 mins long to load on youtube :(
there is no set download speed, its called 'max line speed' which means u may get 100kilobit or 2000kilobit. no cable, and 3g is the worst thing ever. costs $1 per 10mb and is slower than dial up. each cell tower only has a 2Megabit backbone, which has to include all voice calls, sms, mms, and 3g data.
Obviously the 2000 kilo would work. It sounds as though my first assumption is correct either the grid is too crowded or you are far away from it. More then likely it is the first one. I would contact your DSL provider and ask them when they are going to resolve this issue. I would also see if there are any other providers in your area.
Yes i would agree with you about the grid being overloaded, however there only is one company that runs dsl (for home use) through nz. All the other isps simply use the main companies equipment etc and resell it under a different name with slightly different prices. I have actually contacted the company and they have said there is nothing they can do about it. and that 2megabit is only at night. Who are you anyway?
that's awesome! When that comes to the market, I hope its at a reasonable price, because if it is, I'll definitely buy it. I am really interested in watching youtube and listening to music from my TV.
Try LiveStation it's free. It has some HD content on it, and i get channels from all over the planet. Most of the stuff your streaming with that box is free, and easy to find on the net. Waste of money product.
It allows you to download movies from Cinema Now (Partnered with Blockbuster), it searches for videos from multiple internet search engines and google and allows you to see content on your home theatre. It has multiple functions that LiveStation does not.
did i get this right so i basicly dont have all the american channels or something like sky sports . but with this thing i can watch all tese channels for free (ofcourse i need to pay for my internet ) ?????????
that name will get confusion in the UK but this looks exiting if this works with divx and xvid and mpg and mkv this device will be something I will buy
I'm not really interested in the netgear device but in the software used to show it all, want something like that for my PC so i can browse youtube from my bed using my PC remote :D
I have a PS3 and modded Xbox so none of this is new to me but this will be good for older people that's not into video games, I like how the internet is getting added to the TV for everyday people in fact I'm watching this video on my TV right now with my Playstation 3. Remember when you could watch a video without having to sit through a commercial?
Remember when music videos were uploaded by users and not VEVO
Remember when all the info was to the right of the video?
Remember you could rate a video 1-5 stars?
Remember the famous yellow subscribe button?
Remember when the users controlled the site and not corporations?
