  • This just makes me want a Binary Land remake

  • For persons learning music, compare this video to the one by a female japanese pianist named Chihiro also on YouTube. The difference is remarkable since Entremont understands how to play an harmonic line. The Japanese pianist is pure bangety-bang and it is iritating to any clasicly trained musician. If she expects to earn a living as a concert pianist, she need more lessons for sure.

  • @mparentice

Totally agree with you. I do think that asian pianists are among the bests in pure technique but some musical nuances are perhaps not well understood by them I mean specially this period of musical impressionism.

  • Calling this "beautiful"...is rather an understatement to how we all must feel for this magnificent work. That too is an understatement.

  • I bet this is NOT Steinway!! Sounds wonderful. Player? Does anyone know?

  • C'est vraiment beau.

  • とても素敵ですね

    So fantastic

  • This sounds exactly like the intro song to Up!

  • @ramsdawg I totally thought that too when i first heard it on the radio!

  • No picture of Axl Rose !?!

  • i listen never classic music, but this one is fabulous!

  • Where did you get the pictures? Also, check out Ali Project's version of JE TE VEUX. She sings in French!

  • I love your video, this make me feel harmonic, happy, rare, Like in a good dream

but at the same time sad, alone. wihtout a reason

    i love it

  • Listen to this, now go listen to Married Life from the movie Up. Dejavu much? An amazing melody nonetheless :3

  • Entremont is my favorite pianist. He plays real Music.

  • this is most definitely my favorite version of "Je te veux". The tempo of the performance is perfect and it is the only version I've heard so far that made me want to sing to it. Thank you for sharing

  • thank you for both music, your playing and the pictures.. most beautiful. i like your tempo

  • the nusic and the photos are perfect. Thanks

  • This beautiful and charming piece conjures up images early 1900's Paris so wonderfully. Erik Satie was a true one-off, with meloncholy and playful humour being ever present.

  • This is one of the best performances I've heard of this piece. I agree with the poster who said that most pianists take this piece at too fast a tempo. It really undermines the languid nature of the work when they do that. Also listen to Aldo Ciccolini doing this work.

  • Je te veux is my favorite work of Satie.

Thank you for the beautiful music and photoes. I like such these idyllic pictures . For me these ones make me feel good and comfortable as well as this music.

And they match Satie's je te veux, I think.

  • agreed. the tempo here is perfect.

funfact: this was also the bgm for the videogame 'binary land'

  • omg thankk you, this has been itching at my brain for daays! I can finally sleep in peace now. :DD

  • someone told me it sounds like the main theme of Up..

  • @xwig yeah !

  • @xwig Yeah, that's because it has the same French-styled melody and harmonies.

  • @xwig i thought it sound like a music in ratatouille

  • danseaza cu mine in jurul lumii...prin frunze uscate, prin apa rece...

  • that's funny, everybody loves this piece and oftenly only know satie for this, but he himself called those cabaret songs as "rudes saloperies", "rough scum"...

  • I just LOVE this song!

Whenever I hear it, I imagine I'm waltzing with the love of my life... It's zo romantic...

  • this song it makes you relax and hugs your fantasie and your hurt....<3.....very romantic.....^_^

    it´s like a dream ;)

  • I enjoyed this piece as well. I like the way you played it not too fast or not too loud. Thank you very much for sharing.

  • Belissima, amo de paixao esta musica!

  • Binary Land!!

  • that was the first tag i searched for to find this song! :D

  • hoo que buena cancion la amo

  • it is so beautiful, like Alt Wien, a little gem.Remember the feeling this piece brought you, till the day you die.

  • indeed, just awsome

  • bravo ! beau à entendre, beau à voir.

  • Satie was a master of beautiful melodies, which made French Classical music so uniquely wonderful during the Belle Epoque, and "Je te Veux" is one of the loveliest of them all, beautifully rendered by Entremont. Thanks foir loading "Je te Veux".

  • Hmmm . . . I don't see how the photos are a disgrace--most of them are quite lovely. I LOVE this recording--so beautiful.

  • agreed, without a doubt

  • Fantastic performance.

  • Thank you for comment.

I used this photograph as my personal message.

I can understand the sense of incongruity that you felt.

I remake it some other time later.

  • No incongruity. Beautifully apposite belle-époque imagery for a charming, elegant performance by Entremont.

This piece was written for Paulette Darty, the queen of the SLOW waltz. La valse lente. Most pianists play this much too fast. This is perfect.

  • just in case someone didn't know what "je te veux" means...it means "i want you". this is indeed, a lovely melody, when i listen to it i feel like my heart is being squeezed by hapiness and nostalgia.
