  • Yup, i love my houston freeways.

  • I want to slap my local DOT

  • We don't call them frontage roads we call them feeders! lol

  • @cisneros315 both can mean the same thing . however when you refer to "" feeder " it can also mean a entrance/exit lane, or a access lane .. "frontage road" implies to what the actual meaning of the road is for a prolong period .

  • Awesome!!! ..yeah!! the most extreme freeways in Texas. i love this vid. thanks!!

  • How funny ! I loved the intro. BTW what was the song artist and title ?

  • DJ Tatana - Saltwater

  • "Slap your state's DOT"! LOFL!

  • Incredible stack interchanges, especially the one, starting around 2:08. 6 stars!

  • Very cool freeways there. Gotta get out to Texas one of these days.

  • Do we have the best freeways in the world? You bet your ass we do.

Where's the 26-lane section btw? Is it right before the I-10 + I-610 intersection west of downtown?

  • bet Your money on that .. yes its located just west of the katy west loop interchange

  • also per mile by mile .. i hav not seen a wider freeway .. of course u have the 401 in canada , but thats just a glorified tx frontage road setup .. 14-18 lanes for 26 miles is killer

  • Hard to argue with you about the width, although having driven both freeways, visually, the 401 still looks wider, especially the 20 lane section with shoulders on both sides of each C/D direction. Technically speaking, with ramps and merging lanes, one section of the 401 easily tops 30 lanes. Then there's just the pure number of cars (busiest freeway in the world), aye yi yi, that thing is a monster to drive.

  • the katy freeway doesnt look that wide yes that is a fact , the designed of the freeway isnt flat 180 degrees . it is more like 150 degrees ..

  • it is almost impossible to see all the roadway unless you are in a semi or something .. but the 401 has its medians more of than the katy .. but they do consist of the same freeway design .. 20 lane sections . houston to katy it is a 20 lane slip paver , however the most that is ever used of it is 18 and that is just west of the beltway 8 stack .i agree with you the 401 does and is probaly wider in ROW and lanes at the paticular point ur refering to ..lat at the location you are refering to ?

  • Highly enjoyable, love that US-290/Beltway 8 stack, 5*****

  • yes . one of the first beltway stacks .. and the the only one left still in its original i construction

  • That's incredible! The only thing I don't like about your road are the speed limits. But the video is awesome!

  • most american city freeways are 60-65 mph .. you will rarely find a freeway in a metro higher than that ..

  • 120 mph would be a nice speed limit=)

  • great compilation!!

  • Well good news, i'm moving to Texas! So some of that is taken care of! (July or so)

  • Where u moving

  • Austin!

  • Texas freeways swallow you whole man , be carefull ..
