  • PURE Garbage !

  • Actually this is a perfect demo. I can see the knobs clearly and he doesn't yammer on for ten minutes. Great job.

  • Why is the red light actived? I tried to use it, and it sounded very loud.... what do you suggest?

  • @lolwithvoldemort

    Fuck you bitch!!!

  • Why for the love of god did you turned on digitech's factory distortion? :SSS

  • @GuitaristfromFX3

    Try listening, dipshit.

  • @GuitaristfromFX3 its a demo, not a review dumbfuck

  • @GuitaristfromFX3 asshole? bit harsh.. I only uploaded this video to show a friend what it sounded like before he bought one, not to do an in depth review or anything. I don't really see what needs explaining..?

  • wft sounds like the first try using that pedal

  • hey does the ex7 go up 2 octaves like the whammy pedal ?

  • DAMN BROTHA when i got mine about 2 years ago i was like "how do i work this thing???" cuase there are ALOT of things you can do. you helped me out with this vid man. thanks!! :D

  • Sunburn?!?!? FTW you rule :)

  • IM SURE i can to have this synth swell by my eventice crystal effect

  • It must be in the US cause over here they're big but like rock big not mainstream.

  • what is the jack cable at the top for? o_O

  • @prevvy power cord

  • Can it work as a stand alone volume pedal? ... just volume swells and no other effect.

  • @gtrphantom yeah. when effects are switched off its just a volume pedal

  • MUSE! NEWBORN! FUCK YA

  • Never looked at the features of this pedal, very impressed, CKY sounds AHOYYYY!!

  • Best guitar pedal purchase in a long time. This thing is great.

  • Map of the Problematique!

  • It dose work

  • Green day - Redundant at the end :D

  • you uses the Whammy 4?? or the Bass Whammy?

  • was that a bit of greenday at the end? Great demo!

  • sun burn whammy solo

    new born

    dont know the others xD

  • is there any sound gap when changing presets / turning it on and off? this made a similarly profiled boss v wah unusable.

  • do u know if u can u use this pedal as an expression pedal for electro harmonix pedals like the memory boy?

  • No, it's not that type of pedal. The Roland EV-7 or similar will work.

  • I love XP300 Synth Swell. Very nice sound.

  • MUSE RIFFS FTW

  • Sunburn, new born and map of the problematique! ...Muse!

    great demonstration!

  • @WhammyDown Fuck the muse and Fuck "FTW"

  • @44eelz Fuck you.

  • @WhammyDown ...no seriosuly. they like reeeeeaally suck

  • @44eelz Yeah after looking at your profile and stuff, don't be surprised when I say that I don't respect your opinion at all. Good day to you, sir.

  • @WhammyDown ur absolutely right, i dont add mainstream music to my page

  • @44eelz What are you a retard MUSE ISNT MAINSTREAM, mainstream dosent always = shit Your just trying to have your own 'thing' were you dont like 'this' sort of music like a stroppy teenager, if shit sounds good it sounds good stop labelling shit you idiot. MUSE OWN Bellamy is the best guitarist of this generation in my opinion,

  • @DiscOjeSUs100 they're popular, im not labeling their music. anything popular is mainstream. to me the singer sounds like thom yorke only a million times gayer. best of the generation? Eeee..ill let u have that opinion, i couldnt disagree more

  • @DiscOjeSUs100 Uh... do you have any idea how many Twilight fangirls like Muse? They're now a mainstream band. Just like the Beatles were, despite the fact that the Beatles did things differently, too.

  • @WhammyDown fuck you

  • @bigdaddystratman HahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahaHahahahahahhahahhahhahahahhahaha

  • @44eelz fuck you too

  • if you were only interested in using the whammy, do you think the whammy IV is a much better option or would you stick to the ex-7?

  • @bort00 I'd say go for the Whammy IV

  • you know the octave '+1' and '-1' with whammy..

does that refer to a 'Whammy' controll on the EX7 or is that refering to a guitar-built whammy? Cheers.

  • @grantstew22 The whammy on the EX-7, holding a guitar-built whammy at a certain pitch and playing would be impossible :P

  • Alright Smart-arse. haha, and actually, it can be done, granted the player is good enough! haha.

  • @theanatomyofguns I beg to differ, Ricchie Sambora and Van halen have locking devices on their Floyd Rosses and EVH whammies (check out EVH detuna)

  • can this be used as a expression pedal for other pedals?

  • @Nimrod9458 Not that I know of, no

  • Hey can this work with a Bass Guitar???

  • @RoLv92 I haven't tried it but I'm sure it'll work, whether it will sound good or not is another thing though..

  • How did you get it up an octave? Or is that just a seperate pedal?

  • @RoLv92 My bassist has one (it does work and he LOVES it), will link you to the video of him using it as soon as I upload the vid ; )

  • @RoLv92 If you do a youtube search for 'Ozzy's New Pedalboard' you'll see the vid of my bassist using the pedal!

    Peace

  • @thebigbadjohnsmith WoW!! IMpressive!!! The Bassist Rulz!!!

  • Comment removed

  • How's that song called with the octave down? at 0:40 i'm pretty sure it's Muse but idk what song :(

  • New Born by Muse :)

  • New Born. From Origin of Symmetry.

  • it sounds unreal... (in a fabricated commercial way, not an amazing ridiculous way that is)

  • For the price it sounds very digital, but then you'd have to be stupid to not see that coming a mile away.

  • Erm, what it's called like? DIGItech? :D

  • thats a terrible flanger

  • this is not a flanger ..

  • forget i said anything

  • I NEED HELP. after using some knobs my distortion is suddenly gone (sometimes). i try to get it back by turning a few knobs but doesnt work. after a while i seem to get my distortion back by turning knobs but the volume is realy low. can someone help me?

  • sounds pretty good are you using the distortion on the pedal or your own.

  • this pedal doesn't sound all that bad, it's good for the price along with most other digitech pedals, it's great for begginers.

but if your going to make for a good tone you probably shouldnt go do boss or digitech

  • boss ds-1/ds-2 are great pedals. digitech makes some good stuff, whammy wh-1 for example. electro-harmonix are great, dod, ibanez... no one can say any pedal company is bad, because they have all released at least one amazing sounding pedal. the tone of one person may sound bad to another person and vice versa, it's all in their opinion.

  • Great tone starts with a great amp. Mediocre pedals and guitars can sound awesome through an awesome amp.

  • i was curious i know it cant be powered by battery, whats the back of thepower supply say? is it a 9.6v and 300mA?

  • yeah muse!!!

    nice work!!

  • redudant at the end!!

  • dude Im sorry but this video does not do this pedal justice, not that its bad but ive heard much better tones out of one. Im not trying to be egotistical but go check out my Requiem for a Dream cover for a good example of some tonal qualities the wah portion of this pedal has.

  • Hi lustpizza,

I have just watched your Requiem For a Dream cover and IMHO the sound is worse than in this video and you dont explain anything about the pedal. I think this video is a better review and sample of what this pedal can do.

  • uhh dude you completly missed my point, my video isnt intended to be a demonstration of the pedal, I specifically said Wah, his Vox example(3:39) is complete garbage, at least mine shows some of the rich harmonic overtones you can get from that setting.

  • You are right, the wah portion is shitty, sorry.

  • I know this is a bad video, and I'm pretty much the worst person you can get when it comes to tone and playing ability. I just made this video for a friend of mine who was interested in the pedal so I just wanted to show him the very rough basics of what it can do by messing around on each setting. This is in no way supposed to be the be a proper demo video.

  • 0:43 muse, new born :DDDDDD

  • Sorry mate, that was a harsh oppinion but here's the truth. Digitech pedals are usually poor modeling devices of other great devices. this video proves my point, this is a poor product like the Distortion Factory and Chorus factory which yes they do indeed hold alot of decent effects but the sounds are too digital. Do you notice how Digitech is always "modeling" their products after Ibanez, Boss and DOD. i think the company is cheap and fabricated much like it's fan-boys.

  • you are full of shit to highest my friend.

  • really? i'm full of shit when it says on their site that their products are models after ibanez, boss and DOD products? looks like you're just another fanboy that doesn't know your shit so you get mad and TRY to take it out on more intelligent people like myself ;)

  • digitech fucking sucks, BOSS for life!

  • Thank you very much for your input. We hope to hear from you and your very important opinions again soon.

  • Oh shut up will ya, BOSS is the most plain and f***ing boring fx pedals on the market.

  • which means boss sucks. you get a pedal because you CAN'T rely on the amp. why would you have to look for those "good true analog pedals" when you could just clearly get a better one? boss is no better than digitech.

  • becuase their true bypass and still half the price. Boss is good considering how much they cost. you're just being a dumbass now lol and you can rely on your amp, you just dont know how too, it's called "effects loop", this is why effects loop was made for combining effects chains and retaining the flexibility of your amp :p

  • i'd have to agree with slashnpriase on that, i mean boss is ALOT better than digitech except in one effect and that's the WH-4. end of story. boss twin pedals and delay effects are the most sought after delays in the world so if you say those are too "digital sounding" i geuss that's a good thing lol

  • Good demo, When the pedal is off, does it work as a volume pedal?

  • I think when it's set to mode 7 then it does :)

  • does the distortion in this pedal have good body, tone and gain?

  • butt, did you use any other pedals or effects when using this one?

  • Nope, only the EX-7

  • MUSE!!!!!

  • Hey dude how do would u rate the whammy mode on this thing?

  • I would rate it quite highly. Someone I know who has owned an EX-7 and a WH-4 said that the EX-7 tracks better than the whammy pedal

  • How about the pedal sweep? How do u cope with that?

  • great demonstration. (does anyone know how this functions as a volume pedal only???)

  • If i remember correctly then you change it to Model 7 but dont turn the effect on

  • sweet thanks a bunch for the info/reply...

  • I bought the pedal for the "Leslie" and "Uni-vibe" effects; which IMO those two effects alone are well worth the price! You can pretty much nail the sound Gilmour gets on "Breathe" w/ a little bit of tweaking. And get some great Zeppelin like tones w/ the "Leslie" effect. Which has a preamp (control 1) effect that sounds awesome for adding a little OD! The "Flanger" sounds pretty damn good for those thick jet plane sounds! The "Space Echo" effect is great for adding color - ebow like effects!

  • i love that your playing muse

  • Why so?

  • I would place it after drives, but before delays/modulations.

  • how does this compare to the fulltone clyde wah?

  • you have to use an effect while using it, but one of the wah settings you can turn the wah right down, so it just acts as a tone pedal.. it doesnt completely bypass the effect, but its good enough

  • you can set it to mode 4 whammy and turn the wet/dry mix (control 3) all the way to dry and use the distortions alone

  • any one know how to use this thing? i cant get sound from my amp and I'm pretty sure its hooked up right. NEED HELP!!

  • make sure you have the digitech adapter that comes with it. The first few days i freaked out too but i contacted digitech and they said that you need their adapter. Something about the polarities, ac/dc electric stuff. If not, try to calibrate it and everything. Hope this helps.

  • I'm going to get the adapter in the next couple weeks and hopefully it works out. I've been going crazy trying to get it to work and figured that could be the only thing that will work because I don't have the Digitech adapter. The guy I bought it off just told me I could get any old 9v AC adapter, but that was b-s. for some reason he must have wanted to hang on to his? thanks a lot tho.

  • new born!!!!! :DDD

  • and sunburn! :p

  • And "map of the problematique" :o

  • ooh yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Great Video. Thanks! Only $99 at Guitar Center. I think I'll get it today.

  • SERIOUS JUST a 100???? wow...

  • Sorry, its $199.00 there. I went to go buy it and they told me it was mislabled. I was bummed. :(

  • lol its okay mate. im saving up for a gt 10 tho :DD

  • well if you could get a WH1 then i would, but i dont have an extra 600 bucks lol. A REAL WH1 is the holy grail of whammys, Vai and Satch use that one so its the ONE to get but they are alot of money. But Vai has a special made rack unit for his so yours will never quite sound like his but hey, thats another story

I personally have 2 EX7's on my board because i use one as the ADA flanger which is worth the pedal in its self and the other as a whammy and the synth swell. For the price and all the

  • Is the Whammy function on the EX7 exactly the same as the Digitech Whammy pedal? I want to get a Whammy pedal, should I go for the EX7 (so I get more extra's for the fun of it) or just the WH1?

  • features, the EX7 is a no brainer. The whammy function sounds great, nothing sounds like a wh1 but this comes close enought where i use it. NOW if you ment a WH4, which is the new reissues they sell, that will have more functions like divebomb, and differnt pitches but like all guitarists that buy the pedal YOU DONT USE IT THAT MUCH! just to have it as an option in the EX7 is much better idea than buying a $200 whammy. So id say, get the ex7 have 6 effects (2 are wahs) instead of 1 in the whammy

  • muse rights! i so want one of these XD

  • that flanger is brutal!

  • You don't know how bad I've been debating getting one of these. I feel it will be a sin to do to my vintage and boutique pedal board. You know what though, it sounds killer and that's all that counts. What do the Whammy octave up effects sound like with no distortion? Really I want it for the Vox Wah, XP300 and Uni Vibe/Leslie.

  • whammy with no distortion is a little interesting. it sounds a lot more obviously digital, which may or may not be your thing

  • nice one vox wah could be better maybe dunno i should bye it :p sa i cant test before lol

  • sunburn!!!!!!!!!!! new born!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wanna buy this pedal just for the synth swelling!

  • can you drop tune the whammy effect down 1/2 step?

  • can you only use the distortion in the pedal? or can u use other stompboxes?

  • how did u do the synth swell??

    that was soo sick

  • whats the song that you are playing when you are using the Leslie Effect?

Awesome playing, sounds good. I love this pedal, i personally have 2 on my pedal board LOL

1 is strictly for the ADA Flanger (and volume pedal but very rarely) because this pedal is cheaper then a real one (even a reissue) and sounds just like it, and the other one is for the synth swell and whammy

    -Dakota

  • it's technically called "Map of the Problematique" just being a smart alek

  • yes its modelled on the digitech whammy, but theres not as many settings

  • Was that some strange rendition of "Map of the Problematic" with the Vox wah? Cool demo man!

  • kinda dumb question but..is there a true bypass in that pedal? lol

  • no this pedal definatly doesnt have true bypass LOL, though it doesnt suck too much tone. I run mine through truebypass loopers to take it out of the chain when its not being used and always have them turned on, not only is it easier to turn the effect of but its not in your signal chain. The only real problem with tone sucking with this pedal is, when it is being used as a volume pedal on effect number 7, when the pedal is not engaged. You can hear a tone drop, its not dramatic but noticeable.

  • Im dumb. What is true bypass? Being able to kick the pedal on or off?

  • True bypass means that when the pedal is off (BYPASS-ed) the pedal just lets the electric current run through it without taking any signal. Think of it like a cup of water pouring into another cup of water. Pedals usualy are not true bypass, that means they are buffered. Some have great buffers and dont take any sound and some are unbearable and rob you of sound. Think of that like a cup of water pouring into another cup but having a small filter, the water will get through but molecules of

  • water will be on the filter. 9/10 pedals are not truebypass, but some are. Mostly boutique pedals are only in the true bypass category. So in a nut shell truebypass lets your signal run through with no interuptions, when the effect is off (bypass-ed) it is truly off (true bypass) IRONICALLY True bypass is thought of as a new idea, but it was originally done on the oldest pedals but didnt work out well. TB pedals are a good idea but you need to use them right. The best sound you can get from

  • pedals and an amp is the opposite of what you think. TB can be bad if all your pedals are like that. That means your signal is running straight through with no buffering and with alot of cable length you can run into bad noise issues. Buffered pedals (ala BOSS) lower the impedance of your guitar to your amp and are good for your signal. But to many buffered effects can ruin your sound. What i do personally, i run 1 buffered pedal at the begining of my chain (i plug my guitar into the input of

  • the buffered pedal) then i go into a few TB pedals then into my amp. This lowers the impedance of the guitar to the amp and lets me use effects. More cable and more pedals= signal loss but buffing the first pedal and running no more buffered pedals or very few will give you the best sound. The best thing to do if you have effects is to run them into a True bypass looper, a TB looper creates a FX loop that is truebypass and you can call effects in and out with out them taking tone from your path

  • Thanks for the detailed post.

So it would be good to have true bypass, because its not interrupting your other pedals sound?

  • haha, dont worry about your other pedals sound, worry about the sound of the guitar going to the amp! Pedals will effect each other only if they are on. UNLESS, they are BLEEDING, which means they are always on (even when bypassed). What i mean by this is if you have a chorus pedal and when it is turned off you can still hear it a little, the circuit is bleeding and then it will effect your sound.

Describe your set up and i can help you if you want.

  • Right now, I have a Zoom G2 multi-effects pedal / Boss DD-7 Digital Delay / Digitech Flanger / Boss MT-2 Metal Zone / Vibe Distortion / Proel volume pedal.

I find I get a ringing sound when I have the delay after the distortion. I find the wah sounds horrible when at the end too. So right now is the best place I can find all my pedals. Any suggestions? Are any true-bypass?

  • Well the delay should be ran in your effects loop if you have one. I NEVER run a delay up front because it will give you noise with distortion and not sound good. None of them are Truebypass. What you should do if i was you, Metal zone 1st, then get a truebypass looper and put all the effects in that then the looper to the amp and run the delay in the FX LOOP of your amp if you have one, if not put it last in your chain. I dont use a volume pedal but that should go first before the metal zone.

  • ha wow, that was alot said, comment me if you need more clarification

  • Is the Whammy function on the EX7 exactly the same as the Digitech Whammy pedal? I want to get a Whammy pedal, should I go for the EX7 (so I get more extra's for the fun of it) or just the WH1?

  • new born by muse

  • how do you enable the distortion? i can't do it...

  • you have to click really hard the opposite way to the clean mode you have to stand up to do it

  • how do you switch the octaves? can you select how dow you want it? or they are presets?

  • haha i just bought that pedal :) should be here soon!

  • :D hey there, yeah I am indeed.

I'm so tempted to get this pedal. It has all the useful whammy settings, and the synth settings (gorgeous) and wah's (I was going to get a wah soon actually)...Thing is, I can sell my Whammy and the cost is covered :P

nice to see u anyway Corruption :D

  • nice bit of Sunburn there my friend :)

    fantastic pedal! would you recommend?

  • that synth swell is great.. its a massive shame this unit doesnt have midi though

thanks for posting the demo :)

  • Thanks for the demo, really appreciate it. Want to buy it so this is invaluable in helping to decide. Thanks again. Oh, nice playing by the way /smiles.

  • wicked demo!

do you start with muse interlude?

i love newborn, but did you play the chords or play the bass riff?, it sounds alot more like the bass riff but i thaught i would check anyway

the XP300 synth swell sounds wicked!

also do you know if this pedal produces much noise?

oh yeah, and was that abit of map of the problematique in there aswell?

    I SAW MUSE AT WEMBLEY

  • the first thing was the sunburn solo

  • oh yeaaahh

    lol

    jeebus

i feel like a mong now lol

  • bit of a late reply, but the pedal does make quite a bit of noise when you use lots of pedals after it, but apart from that its fine

  • no problem =]

  • no problem =]
