  • WHY HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS?

  • soo beautiful!

  • wen is it back? I seen it wen it was in london a few years back. want it back to take my family cuz i loved it and want to see it again

  • OMG....I NEED TO SEE THIS MUSICAL! I NEED TO BE IN THIS MUSICAL! OMG I LOVE THIS SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! I'M LIKE FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW! OMG!! :D :D

  • GAH! Michael Rouse is pure magic! Can i marry him? Please!!!!!!

  • This is different to the Original London Cast recording. The arrangement is very different, as well as the singers. It's slightly faster here, as well.

    Still great, though! :)

  • shame this not showing anymore

  • I agree. I saw the show twice, and I loved it.

  • The London production is the best!

  • This was stunning, simply stunning that is all I can say. The CD is available. Well done to the cast and crew.

  • i loved it it was fantastic

  • Singing figures strongly in the books

    A musical was very fitting.

  • i agree i hope they bring it onto a dvd as it was too good of a show to just have been seen in the theatre x

  • @hobbit666 And it would be nice if the rest of the world could have a chance to see it!

  • its an e not a xxx lorien (my name :D ) x

  • Is the musical still on in London? I really want to see it

  • I'm afraid it's not :( it closed in July 2008, to make way for Oliver.

  • ok this is difenetly not the original london cast recording what is it?

  • Rough original edit or Toronto cast I think.

  • It's from the soundtrack of the musical. It's still the original just recorded in a studio.

  • Demo recording, with the Original London Cast, I think.

  • are they singing in Sindarin?

  • Elfish

  • It's actually Quenya. You can tell because they don't use the prefix "Loth-" before "Lorien" as they do in Sindarin. Also, Quenya is easier to write into a song. :)

  • My most recent comment is in response to Valonaren's question, in case that doesn't show up. XD

  • I think Ofra Haza should play galadriel. She would be brilliant in the role

  • If it ever goes to Broadway, I definitely agree with you. She could do amazingly well with this role! Although the original Galadriel was absolutely amazing!

  • awsome! just loved it!!!!

  • This musical comes to Cologne, Germany! I believe at the end of the year

  • Who's singing this? This doesn't sound like the same guy on the soundtrack

    *LOTHLORIEN*

  • it is the same guy this song that ive got on here is from the soundtrack x

  • Clearly we have different soundtracks, as both singers are different, as is the musical accompaniment (for Galadriel's solo).

Have you got the soundtrack from the Toronto version?

    I have the London cast

  • yep it is the soundtrack and i have seen the same guy sing this in London as it is on the official soundtrack it could be the upload that makes him sound a bit different but it is definatly him 100%

  • its one of the best west end musicals ive seen ever. im never bored of Lord of the rings. Love all the dance's and stunts they did. Im hoping to be on west end myself!!

  • I wanted to go see it ITS NOT FAIR

  • I saw this musical in London when I was there for a schooltrip. It wasn't that good as I expected. the first act was good, but the second and thirt one where boring. It was way to much to put three books in a 3,5 hour musical. I had a backstage tour and the technical guy told us that the most of the original cast was ill, so that might be the reason for the bad play.

  • I saw it in London, and it was better than I expected it to be, although all LotR fans seem to hate it XD I really loves the stage, I felt like I was sitting in a wood. But whenever I tried to take a photo, the security gyus said: "Lady! No photos" What a pitty...

  • i had the luck to fly to london and see this wonder. there are no words to describe how i felt. ok, maybe the "unbeliveably fantastic" is pretty close :D

this really is the greatest thing i've ever seen in a theatre

  • THIS is the best musical ever!!!!!

  • i love this show.shame its not there anymore

i wouldve loved to have seen it again

  • My Auntie Wwent To That Show

she Says That the Orcs Are In The Audience At The Break

  • True - I remember it well

I got to talk to the Hobbits when I went - we shared Mini Eggs xD

  • The songs are nice, but they are nowhere near as good as those in the films. Howard Shore is a great composer. I didn't really see how they could make a musical out of Lord of the Rings, but apparently they have.

  • Its possible you know it was amazing when i saw it wooo

  • I saw this musical twice in London. Absolutely amazing stuff!!

  • I heard about this musical a few months ago and within a few days bought the CD. My favorite songs are Lothlorian(so beautiful) and The cat and the Moon(quick and funny)

  • This song is sooo beautiful! I'd never heard any from the LOTR musical, it was to expencive for me to go see last time I was in London or Toronto, and now it's gone, sigh.

I heard this song from browsing through west-end live 08 songs, and I immediately bought it off iTunes, this song's gone on repeat for a long time now.

Really hope someone will put it on a DVD for us others to enjoy!!!

  • I saw the London show twice. It was awesome and I will never regret the money that I spent on it. I too, hope that it comes out on DVD. It has been done for War of the Worlds so fingers crossed.

  • Type Go Petition into Googe, type Lord of the rings london stage show in the go petition search box and sign the petition to get the show released on dvd. Its so awesome not to be released. Promote this petition everywhere! I want it!!!!

  • i did it ...... let know if it does come out

  • Highest play count on my iTunes are still counting. This song is just magical! A joy to listen to and to sing.

  • this is one of the most amazing musicals ever!

  • I LOVE this song! I just ordered the soundtrack on Amazon, I can't wait for it to come in!!!!

  • ITS REALLY NICE (:

  • I have lyrics for This song, Now & for always, wonder, The road goes on, and Im trying to get lyrics for the Cat and the moon. [:

  • how did you find the lyrics for these songs, i've been searching but i couldn't find them anywhere.

  • I found them out myself.. Listen to the songs carefuly and note them down. [:

  • the lyrics are on the cast album cd you can buy it from amazon x

  • or you can listen to it several hundred times i did

  • Thanks! I just ordered the CD, can't wait to get it!!!!! :D

  • Sorry,Where Do You Get The Lyrics.?.(:

  • Cd.

  • Thank You..X

    (:

  • IS iiT R3ALLii SiiMARLAR 2 TH MOVii3..?!..3XC3PT WIV OU TH CAM3RAS OBVISLY...<<3

  • Wow...what's wrong with your spelling?

  • What an amazing show. Tickets for this peice of brilliance are at the top of every holiday list for me--well done, writers!

  • I saw it yesturday AMAZING!!!!

  • To any of you who want to get this song for free....its on the website!

  • Hi, how do you download it? The song just starts over when i click on the icon, where it says download.

  • I believe that you have to right click and "save target as...".

  • I want this in Bulgaria! If not, I'd go to see it whereever on the continent they decide to play it...

  • rhumors are its moving to germany next.x

  • apparently for only 3 or 2 months so..

  • It looks and sounds amazing! Totally great! Pure delight! Alas, I can only watch and listen it on the Internet as I cannot just go to England and see it.

  • i cant wait to see it! im goin in two weeks is it good?

  • Its amazing i saw it 2 days ago best musical i have ever seen

  • i saw it on my birthday! we got day seats £20 each front row.

amazing value, 3 seats £60 when the ppl behind payed £60just for 1! ha ha

however i would prob advice if you can to sit much further back. couldnt appreicate the revolving stage coz we could only see the front of it when bit raised, where as if you sit further back you can see all of whats happening

  • I would even advise you to choose seats on the balcony...the stages often rised up to -i guess 3 meters- so you want see much even if you are in the back of the stalls...but I also got the day seats and ven in the front row it was an astonishing show :)

  • I saw this for the first time on a whim while studying art and theater briefly in London a week ago and it was fantastic! The friends who went with me and I can't stop talking about it. I've never seen visual effects anywhere near as amazing as this before. The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane with their rotating stage really have what a theatre needs to pull of something this grand.

  • The music and choreography were also great. The acting was a bit up and down in terms of quality but I might have just seen it on an off night. Boromir was my favorite in terms of acting and Galadriel was my favorite singer. All the Hobbits and Gollum were really great though too. All in all, definitely worth seeing.

  • Does anyone know if this is coming to America??? I heard that it is going off Septemeber 08 thats so soon!!! Please respond!?!?!?!

  • According to Wikipedia: "The London production will close on July 19, 2008, after 492 performances and 14 months playing to more than 446,000 people. The producers now plan to open a German-language production in November 2009 and to tour New Zealand, Australia and the Far-East."

I wouldn't be surprised if Broadway decided to take a stab at this musical someday though. Just looks like you might have to wait a while.

  • Hey, i here that its closing in london real soon, and its not even been open for that long, is it because its not getting enough profit in the west end? I would love to see it before it goes, im not even into lord of the rings that much but the show seems amazing and this song sounds so good! Please get back to me :)

  • it started in montreal, at the start they were thinking about broadway, but it didnt make profit. yes, people did see it, but not enough. they had to have a full house for some insane amount of days, to make a profit. and no fish were bitting, so they cut the three hours down to two and a half, and put it on the west end,

  • have u even seen it? im from scotland and me a 3 of ma mate came to london just to see it......i was amazed at what i saw. i had been told be a friend in the biz that it wasnt up to much but i was blown away by it.....u cant judge it if u aint seen it......IT IS AMAZING...go see it before June cos that when it closes (or so iv heard)

  • ...i have seen it...twice unfortunately

  • it is closing because Andrew Lloyd Webber owns the theatre and Oliver is going to be put on in it's place

  • Good

  • i saw this for the second time last night! was incredible - and i was spat on by an ork! Awesome!!!!!!!

  • I saw this in the west end and it was brillant! :) it was only last week end i saw it :) x x x

  • i almost cried when they sung this, both times i saw it in the west end, IT IS BEAUTIFUL

  • i love laura michelle kely's voice in this! my singing teacher wants me to sing this one day! LOL

  • I love this song.

I so want to go and see it! To Bad I don't live in England...

  • You spelled Lorien wrong.

  • we all know whos the most nerdy here now

  • haha it's actually my name (seriously) but I do love Lord of the Rings as well. :)

  • seriously?! You have a cool name

  • seriously?! You have a cool name

  • Leave your expectations at home and go see this play as-soon-as-possible! Don't be surprised if you want to see it again. Be sure and get there early for the "pre-show"!!

  • i went 2 see it a couple mounths ago and it was fantastic best musical i have ever seen well werth seeing

  • I would love to see this...already it's beautiful!

  • hey wat is better, the lion king musical or the lord of the rings musical???

    wb plz XD

  • it depends on what you like really :)

  • Both of them are mindblowing, but having seen LotR more times than the TLK down there, I'd have to go with LotR.

  • i love this song its magical, i think after it ends in the theatre they should put it on vid and dvd, it would be class!

  • I love this song! Give the musical a chance guy and you'll be blown away. The visual effects are jaw-dropping.

  • look on amazon, i saw it on there

  • I don't think people give this musical enough of a chance or give it the credit it deserves. It is the most visually beautiful show I have seen and there are songs to give you goosepimples. So what if it doesn't stick to the book exactly, its getting 3 books into 3 hours, the same length of just one of the films. It still manages to tell the story so i don't see what people are complaining about. But thats my rant over at least.

  • I gave this show a chance. I think visually beautiful. Acting could be better. But the sheer fact that they advertised it as a musical is what got me. I feel the songs are awful. Besides Galadriel and Golom, the show is a shambles.

  • I saw this musical in london last week and to be honest i didn't really think it neccesary. All due respect the effects and music was fantastic but i didn't think the music moved the story along at all. I don't know, i just didn't think it worked, the story is so long and to condense it into one show didn't work

  • I saw Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings film that got shot in New Zealand with the company of Weta. I have also seen this musical in London. It was a really good musical with great effects and good acting. I wish it could have followed Tolkien's original story a little more closely, but that's tricky when you have to squeeze it into such a short time. I understand that you couldnt follow it to the real book almost like the film from Peter Jackson did.

  • Each to his own, but I suspect that Tolkein would be spinning in his grave fast enough to cause an underground tornado...

  • How can you not like this song?! Jesus some people are overly precious just because it went in a different direction to the books or the films.

  • My comment wasn't so much a statement of personal taste, more the fact that dramatised fantasy, even at the fairly low level of Shakespeare's Macbeth, was one of Tolkein's pet peeves ("the audience does not so much have to suspend disbelief as hang, draw and quarter it") and seeing it done to his own story, particularly as a musical... well. Yes.

  • I think you're wrong! this show has been hugely successful and is a massive tribute to an incredible story!! xxx

  • i went 2 c this 7months ago and i still get chills when I hear any of the songs, soo amazing.

  • I know the cd will be coming out soon, but I've heard that you can download this you limewire. I've searched over and over again! Does anyone know where else I can download this one song?

  • i saw this on an english trip to London i loved it!!!! it was the best part of the trip!!! im sooo gonna buy the CD when it comes out.

  • we had a class journy to london, and saw this musical....it was soooooo awesome i cant speak a whole time after it so great !

  • i saw this in june and it was 1 o the most amazing experiences of my life. Its so amazingly. i advise any1 who loves theatre 2 c it, im nt even a massive lord of the rings fan but still was mesmerised.

  • I come fro Holland and a specialy for this musical i whent to london and damn the musical was good,

my seat place was the grand cirkel

  • it is so good just watched it about 2hours ago!lol

  • Does anyone know if the CD is going to be released in the US?

  • Feb 4, 2008 it will be released in the US

  • the date for the cd release has changed again, it is now February 11th. sad that they keep delaying it! :( but i still can't wait to get my hands on it!

  • this is the old one i prefer Laura Michelle Kelly way better voice

  • heyas this is the laura michelle kelly version :)

  • o yer sorry lol

  • hehe no worries i love it !! :)

  • for anybody watching this the soundtrack comes out on the 21st of january for definate =}

  • SERIOUSLY!!!! HURRAY!

  • HUZZAH!!

    Amazon UK here I come!

  • Omg, I saw this musical last night and already I'm hooked onto it and especially the music! I'll have to get the soundtrack!

  • I went to see the show two nights ago and asked them about the soundrack to make sure.

They did indeed say January 21st, however that might only be in the theatre itself.

To buy online there's a chance we might have to wait until the start of February.

  • My pre-order from Amazon Uk is still saying it is coming to me Jan 23, 2008 and I live in Canada.

  • I saw this yesterday its a beautiful preformace

  • Hey everyone, I am a young theatre critic..

And i have on thing to say.

    Absolutley MIND BLOWING.

  • it is fab. No point trying to explain, you have to go see it. even if you dont like the story, the effects are mindblowing!

  • no just recorded this from my phone and put some pics to it x=)

  • how did you get it so clear! thats unfair. haha

  • this is such an amazing musical. tolkien wanted his work to go on, to be musica and drama and inspire us. whoever says hes turning in his grave should actually see it for real, clips give it no justice and the effects are breathtaking. Go and see it before you try and critise it, its amazing and recommend it to everyone

  • amazing saw it yesterday

  • brilliant went to see it last saturday, amazing, i recommend to all lord of the rings fans

  • I loved this musical!! saw it in London this weekend! It was amazing!!

  • I think I'm in love WITH THIS SONG!
