  • I love what you're doing! Keep making that "play that shit again" music! I don't care if you can't play the piano or a set a drums! What you do is an art and a blessing to be able to PRODUCE good music! People that hate or make fun of how people do things deserve to get sucka punched and if their music is garbage as well..they deserved to get jumped by 100 niggas who fight like Kimbo!! #HUMBLEYOURSELF!!

  • mpc looks so fun to use for real

  • Spent my day today on the resp ward... all I can say is... LUNG CANCER

  • stop smoking because we want to listen your new beats 20 years later too, not just now.

  • like oh shit that sounds like some marco polo shit

  • I watch this video everydayy....this sh#t is mad crazyyy n dope......Id like to make beats like Marco Polo.....thumps up if u agree!!

  • How do u clear all those samples tho?

  • Lucky neighbors

  • derns diggler - real hiphop- look it up

  • Marco Polo top 5 producer ALL THE TIME. How some of these weak producers get so much credit and people like this don't is unbelievable.

  • that mpc look like it was in a house fire...lol but he make hits on it.....LOL

  • Who used this beat?

  • @djhellfire1 grand daddy i.u

  • Can somebody explain to me why people still use MPC's? Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting it down because I've never used them to make beats, but how come people don't just use software? You can do pretty much anything an MPC can do with good software. Is it just having the hardware right infront of you, no computer screen or whatever that appeals to MPC users? Or is there something that makes them better?

  • @ThisIsCanaryKid For me its the personal interaction and hands on activity that brings my creativity out. Oh and its fun. In the end though it doesn't matter what you use its what you make.

  • @fhoplist Yeah that's what I thought, I guess I'm the same, I use a friends fantom G6 sometimes and I notice that the ideas flow alot easier when in toe to toe with hardware. And I couldn't agree more man, stick to what works best for you.

  • @ThisIsCanaryKid trust me due hardware is te way to go.i had a pewerful pc and most of the latest software and soft synths but in the end making music became so boring cos it was just pointing and clicking at a lot of different ish on a screen.then i got an MPC and realised what i was missing.u need that connection with ur instruments to keep intersting.amd the limitations of an MPC make u even more creative cos u find stuff by accident and just have fun while u do it.HArdware all day!!!!

  • OH SHIT THAT SOUNDS LIKE SOME MARCO POLO SHIT!

    dope shit

  • Some people can't understand the talent that is required to find the right sounds and texture to creat a classic hip hop tune. Are most beat makers music composers and actually play an instrument?... no. But there is skill and talent in what they do. If Quincey Jones can reckognize and validate the Genius in what these cats do I don't see how others can't. justsaying :)

  • reminds me of rjd2

  • I don't know, but if you make beats like that, you probably have not one talented bone in your body. Dude is making his drum patterns as though he were retarded. I've seen dudes that make beats like that on an MPC, and to me they have no talent because they usually have no rhythm. You don't need a metronome to make a drum beat, if you're off key, you are just off key, which means you can't make a beat to save your life. I like most of his music, but I think he's just overrated.

  • dope beat man, good stuff, check out some of mines man i would really appreciate it

  • by the way that beat starting @1:45 is sick.

  • Double Barrel in stores now?Pobezhal pokupat' mat' ego!

  • im a trained pianist and im lookin to get into producing beats. what hardware would be good to start with? i dont really know whether to start with a full keyboard synthesizer, a midi controller keyboard, a midi controller with pads, etc. any ideas on what would be a good setup or start for me? thanks

  • @jayfajardo1 A midi keyboard (controller) will be fine. Programmes like reason have digital synthesizer's so just save yourself the money. Msg me if you need any help.

  • @jayfajardo1 Depends, really. If you wanna stick to something familiar, then go for a Workstation keyboard. They're prices, but worth it. The brands I prefer are Yamaha, Korg and Roland. Check out zzounds.com also. They have a great payment plan that doesn't require getting a credit card. Good thing about producing that it's not all about the method as long as you can make good music. Hope that helped a bit.

  • inspired by one of the best.. pete rock.. if marco was doing his thing in their generation he would be considered one of the best

  • fire

  • nice very inspirational. Now when i go work with my propellerhead and my mpd18 im getting it in. Sometimes before i make a beat i like going on youtube and just watch different vids of producers showing me the ropes and educating me. Peace

  • @fatmike01 to each is own if you or any other producer wanna stick to early hip hop and be broke. I'm not saying don't sample because kanye do it...but his shit sound current and good. Just so u know...no real producer wants to stick to those old naughty by nature drum....as a producer u try to accumulate as many sounds as possible...stop thinking that producing is just about old school hip hop

  • @fatmike01 I understand real hip hop.....the thing with me is more than hip hop....I'm a music person in general....real producers love music in general and are able to expand and make music in general....so I'm not just talking about real hip hop such as krs1 big L and them.

  • marco is sick, someone who does`nt like him is a dick.

he`s so on tak, i feel like im going to have a heart attack.

people that talk smack, should get a smack

    MY RHYME ABOUT HIM!!!!!!!!

  • Put in Major Work on the 2000xL

  • Cha!, the infusion is hypnotic, crate dwellin is an art, & busy intellects spawn the youngest minds shaping a generation, you my friend represent a dying breed of those who beautifully join synergy, a classic backflash forward tailored ready to volcano & sear the masses....Unique & gully, keep lookin at em in your rearview yungn .........you foggin em out & leaving clues - while most learn from textbooks

  • What has Marco Polo made...that's a hit today? Marco Polo is not evolving as a producer...dont nobody listen to these old basic 1 and 1 hip hop beats today....he cant be making no money....

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX if you wanna hear "hits" go listen to pop you bumbblegum faggot

  • @fatmike01 .....you like a corn ball dude......whats the sense in trying to hold on to this old ass style if it aint gonna make them no money. im not saying that sampling is bad because i like niggas like needlz, No id, and just blaze. All im saying is that niggas need to switch that shit up or get left behind in the dust of: Polow da Don, Bangladesh, The Runners, Justice League Timbaland and Tha Bizness. Catch up niggaz....yall falling behind. Get yall game up and leave that 2 bar shyt alone.

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX haha you kill me son. no real head gives a fuck about timbaland or any other half ass producer like that. The funny thing is cats like you don't understand real hip hop. Hip hop is an art, and not some disposable bullshit to make money off of. Real heads will stay diggin in the crates, doing whats true to the art, while the fake clowns will hop on and off the latest and hottest trends son. I respect producers who are also moving in a forward direction and trying new things.....

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX .....El p for instance who is doing some great new stuff. Keyboard niggas been around for a long time so I dont know why you acting like they on some new revolutionary shit. They beats sound like cheese, nasty ass synthetic drums making your ears bleed. I don't really even know why I'm responding, I can tell you don't know your shit so you won't understand. You just go along and listen to some rap music while we listen to some hip hop

  • @fatmike01 Do you know how ignorant you sound? you keep talking about synthetic srums that make your ears bleed....Producers look for what ever sound they can that sounds good....they are not thinking about whether the drum sounds like an actual physical drum set.. I didn't say that keyboard niggas was a new thing. The most successful producers today reinvent themselves and the way they sound...if you cant do that, then you reach no success. It appears that you dont agree with that.

  • @fatmike01 If it was meant for old school hip hop to be around then why isn't the temptations still making hit and all those real stage groups like the five heart beats still around...the point is that you need to face the fact that things change and that shit aint popin no more....Im from new york...rochester that is! but i dont live there anymore. i can clearly see that times has change. I bet you still in that new jack swing error too...you must be old as fuck to be saying all this shit.

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX You seem to be missing the point. This isn't even old school hip hop and you got the nerve to call me ignorant?? I class old school hip hop 80's hip hop. Not mid 90's style. I'm probably younger than you son, it's just I got an ear for good music. The problem with you and tonnes of other people is that you don't respect the roots. You can't be coming on some marco polo beat blabbin of some bullshit about how whack this style is and it aint banging or whatever

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX You need to understand the culture more son. Next you'll be saying Kanye is better than DJ premier or Pete rock just cos he's relivant with the times. Ask anyone who knows hip hop, any real head, and they'll tell you that hip hop has been whack as fuck for the last 10 years, The underground still thrives as it always will. But the mainstream bullshit disposable music is just horrible, and is 10 times bigger as it ever has been. What artists do you listen to at the moment????

  • @fatmike01 As far as rap music goes.... i listen to jay-z, Ti., kanye, B.O.B, lupe fiasco, ludacris, niki minaj, and a host of others......i dont just listen to conscious rap though....i like to listen to a lot of other rap too like club music and party music.....music is more than about what they're saying.....its about how it makes you feel when you here it...the music that are hits are hits for a reason......because it makes people feel good to listen to it.

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX Fam music is music I still listen to kraftwerk, 80's hip hop,90's hip hop, 2000's hip hop but at the same time the songs nowadays are wack as hell on the mainstream the lyrical content is trash the music doesn't have soul, don't get me wrong its a few mainstream records that's fire from the production to the lyrics but its a diamond in the ruff, nowadays the older generation has to teach the younger generation the roots and culture of hip hop and stop focusing on the money

  • @RYAKINRIP You right music is music....i do think somethings these days are garbage but at the same time old hip hop laid the work for new rap to sound like what it sounds like today. Rap doesn't have to have soul...music is just supposed to make you feel good. So as long as the shit Jeezy and Ti putting out make the majority of people feel good that's all that matters. Now im not talking about soulja boy! Music is supposed to change though.

  • @RYAKINRIP At one point....that 80's and 90's hip hop was new....how would you have felt if the temptations, otis redding, five heart beats, earth wind and fire, and all those old groups wouldn't have accepted the 80's and 90's hip hop.....same predicament! Things are just changing that's all and im sure 60 years from now it will be even different from what it is now.......YOUR PROMISED ONLY ONE THING IN THIS LIFETIME AND THAT'S CHANGE!

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX , Well I believe personally that its more political the reason why the so called majority

of people likes this garbage that's on the radio, it's called Physiological warfare or suggestive thinking,

if the government is running the radio and the advertisement company's,record labels are funding their campaign or brand they do not want people to question what they are doing ,so dumb down the music

embed consumerism in peoples mind make sure they don't pay attention to us.

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX Now as far as dealing with the fact that the so called old is played out, then that means little john would have never used the 808 drum, t pain would have never used auto tune to recreate his version of roger and zapp ,these kids nowadays wouldn't be wearing retro 80's clothing , just because these artist are making microwave music doesn't mean its a hit, a real hit will last forever and you will get publishing checks for the rest of your life.

  • @RYAKINRIP You are very right......But money talks....bullshit walks.....everybody is worried about getting that all mighty dollar. Not many people care to be like KRS-one Talib Kwali, and all them where they only make conscious music and are broke. People want that money and since things have already change no one is going to go back to some shit that aint gonna sell and make them and the labels no money.

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX Those artist you mentioned is far from broke sun, they are making a descent living clearing over $100,000 a year off music alone from shows to downloads, The roots prime example which is my hommies they are millionaires, your forgetting about a huge demographic such as the over seas and Japanese market which they tend to like underground hip hop more than hip pop. I know for sure that Dead Prez and Immortal Technic is making $12,000 a show.

  • @RYAKINRIP That's all cool and everything....100k a year aint rich though....im talking T.I., B.O.B, Drake, Jay Z, Nas, Maino, Juelz Santana, Wayne, Common, Swizz Beats RICH. Yeah the roots are rich but there is not many old school hip hop artist that are millionaires....and when i say millionaire im talking more than just 2 or 3 million.

  • @RYAKINRIP personally I consider myself a success if I can earn a living off something i enjoy, even if it ain't gold or platinum I'd rather produce classic long lasting music which my great grand kids will enjoy think of Sade they still playing all her catalogs long lasting doe for life

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX real heads listen to this grimy shit. you can go back to bumping all that watered down mainstream shit. i dont give a fuck how much money those clowns make.

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX Do you think 10 years from now they will be playing lil Wayne on the radio? for example look at Young MC,lol not saying he's a great artist but however his record "bust a move" is in commercials,& still be playing in the upscale nightclubs same as rob bass, sir mix a-lot,.listen to the sounds inside these tracks nowadays its all 80's music recreated with the same Roland 808, 909 drums , Juno 60, Jupiter,Moog sounds. Everything revolves in a circle nothings new.

  • @RYAKINRIP Yeah i know they are using old sounds...but they are using them and putting a touch of modernism on it and making it their own. It's hard to say if Lil Wayne will still be on the radio..he;s already been around since the mid to late 90's. I dont disagree with what you're saying. im just one of those people who know how to adapt to change...some music is garbage but there is some that's not..... how you think R Kelly been in the game for 20 years...he evolved from that new jack swing.

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX i still think the temptations and the rest you named have better tracks from back in the 70s. of course there needs to be evolution. but not devolution.

  • What has Marco Polo made...that's a hit today?

  • Every time I get ready to make a beat, I watch this video for inspiration :D

  • Hey does he rap? Cause i bet he would be good.

  • I want to know about all of the basic equipment for a studio ca im 14yrs old and i wanna make beats for ma self rather than just spittin over so me shit thats been spat over 200times. Obv i aint gonna be like this guy but a guy can try. If anyone can gimme a list it would be much appreciated. T

  • i love how beat that fuckin mpc is. thats one of those where you would never even think about selling. he be like 50 and have that shit in his basement and be like this is what i did work on

  • @livelifebythapig Sampling in hip-hop is an art like anything else. Tons of people can play drum kits too, but can't make a decent beat. The actual skill of producing something good from nothing is the real skill to possess.

  • @bmancodgta4 Yeah, that is true. I guess it's musical art, I just like the way a kit sounds. But I am a rocker and no hip-hopper, you dig yo?

  • @livelifebythapig Thats cool, I like both. Used to hate hip-hop too but something changed in me and I LOVE it now. The musical stuff though, not shit about rims and chains and hoes. lol

  • haha he has exactly the same approach to making beats as me!
