These photos were commisioned by the German propaganda section. They are only a small part of the 250 images that Andre Zucca took between 1941-42. Yes it does look lovely, yes it does look like most french people were having a great time, but Paris was populated by "the absent". Thousands of Jew, homosexuals and others who were not part of the Nazi plan for Europe were taken. What Zucca's picture actually show us is that life had to continue under the constant fear of occupation.
