  • can you post some of the tutorials for making games for android

  • i have installed all the softwares.I have put android in eclipse. But when i run eclipse, in the menu "Window" i have got SDK manager and AVD manager on two separate lines. basically they are not combined. i do not know what i did wrong. everything runs smoothly otherwise. how it will affect the use of eclipse and android. Is there any way for me to combine these two? or should i reinstall everything?

Plz let me know. i posted this request on other youtube channels. still waiting for a response.

  • @2ouioui2 yea the android sdk has updated a bit since I made this video, but no worries, sounds like you have it set up correctly

  • Why is my SDK and AVD separate?

  • @MaddogD86 It has changed since I've made this video, so it looks a bit different now. Don't worry though :D

  • I followed this tutorial after doing all the work when i run eclipse it shows this error: Failed to parse the output of 'adb version'. Can you help me how to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance

  • you saved me so much time, thank you

  • Your awkwardness is charming. Keep up the good work.

  • Hey Travis, about to follow this awesome tutorial!

Got a question..Whenever i want to install the SDK's you mention at: 6:30 , when clicking android 2.2 and 2.3 and google maps, i hit accept all, but when downloading a Window keeps popping up and says, error file not found (acces denied)

So it wont download the items, what now?

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial.

I am trying to make an app using Buzztouch but terribly failed in setting up Eclipse properly.

Now I will just uninstall everything and start over using your video to guide me through the proces.

    Thumbs up mate! :-)

  • thanks for the video

Please talk clearly, loud and normal. You sound like a drunk.

  • 11 minutes left. 8 minutes left. 87 minutes left. 3 minutes left. 8 minutes left...

  • i don't have an android phone, i hope it's won't be a problem :)

  • Outdated but worked for me ;) thanks

  • Fantastic! Easy to follow, thanks heaps!

  • Great vids to getting started programing java apps. Get past these install vids and you will be happy. Do learn some java on the side though the videos get harder and you will be able to copy what Travis does but to think beyond coping what code he writes you need some language to tweak and play around with what he has shown you.

Try to play around with other options after the lesson. Expand on what you have learned for a bit. Then the code will really stick

    Thanks again Travis!!!!!!!

  • I watched all 32 videos and they are great so i went back and gave you thumbs up for all your videos! Hopefully you give us 33 soon.

  • Are you happy with your iMAC ? for Programming and stuff ?!!

  • Does anyone know bout that help thing I askef about earlier?

  • im confused on how to download the other tools on windows....whe i try to extract the files i cant find them anywhere.

  • when i download the adt where on windows can i find that help option like on the mac?

  • is eclipse free to download? and when im ready to upload my app to the market, will i be making money with sales. I dont mind them taking a cut of the sales as long as i do in fact see dollar signs in my my bank account. thank you for any guidance.

  • is this gonna be another software tool that i work hard on making an app with to upload and sell on the market but than find out that i cant, just like i did with visual basic?

  • Good intro knowing where to get all the stuff and set it up is great. Two big adds for windows folks new to Java. 1) You also need to find and download the Java development kit or you will get errors saying you don't have a development runtime environment. Do this first before installing eclipse or andriod SDK. 2) For Windows make sure you are in the admin account for this whole tutorial or you get missing file messages because you need admin privledges. Took awhile to figure that out.

  • @picklgames TY! :D

  • How to check if you have 32 or 64 bit in Windows 7 if you are in doubt -go to Control Panel, system and security, view amont of ram and processor speed. In the system type, it should say System Type: 32-bit or 64-bit Operating system.

  • big thanks =)

  • Thumbs up if Bucky bought you here!!!

  • Great, downloading all your tuts so I can practice on my vacation. I'm majoring in Java and probably doing an app for Android. I might get back at you with results. I hope you'd like to know if you're tutorials made any success with me. See ya, keep 'em comin'

  • Thanks from Singapore!

  • thanks a

    lot

  • Great work

  • Thanks!! My firsts steps! xD and.. From Mexico! ñ_ñ

  • thanks

  • Sweet tutorial teach!! looking forward to many more....

  • Psyched to see you growing, brother! Looking forward to bacon wrapped tutorials and sweet Android programming.

  • Fantastic video, very helpful. What is the difference between Eclipse for Java developers and Classic? Google suggests to download classic, but you chose java. Is there a significant difference?

  • Pop you with my .... gun.... what up?

  • I noticed a step missing which may or may not apply to everyone.... This does not show the installing of the Android SDK. When you run the install of the SDK it tells you that it is dependant on the Java SE Development Kit (SDK) and checks your version. If you don't have it, a button shows up directing you to the oracle website to download it. It is required before you can move forward in the Android SDK installation.

  • Also it appears that the android sdk installer freaks out at the end if you didnt install the java sdk in the default program files directory, so dont change that location when installing it.

  • Glad you're back. I built an application based entirely on your last series. Well, mostly. Got me off to the right start. Zero Java background.

  • great vid
