You can override gearbox, there is a small "power" button at the top right corner next to the tuner. If you click it, gearbox will not affect the signal coming from your toneport

you can also use the toneport with Guitar Rig 4, Amplitube live, metal, jimi hendrix

can also be used with fl studio 9 and peavy revalver without the need of gear box

Hey I use the Line 6 tonePort Kb-37 and I can record both dry and wet signals from it.

You can record the dry signals by routing sends 3 and 4 to the armed track.

Sends 1 and 2 will give you the wet track.

I think the kb37 and the ux2 are fairly similar (minus the MIDI keyb) so it should work for you as well.

hi pretty good video on the toneport. but right i am using it and i think the latest update lets you record with mics and you dont actually need the soft ware running. i use it for garageband and logic pro 8 without using the gearbox software...as long as you have a good mic and a softened room ( sound proof ) you can recording using toneport without gearbox. i use it all the time.

Haha, exactly what I was thinking when I bought this... I also would prefer a room full of beautiful analog equipment, but I don't have that much money, and this is just enough for me actually.

I, btw, own a Pod Studio UX2, wich is a little bit more expensive, but you get Pod Studio software with it, wich works, very very well. Will get myself a B1 next month, for harmonica and acoustic guitar, really curious how it will sound on those pre-amps.

Got the B1 now for a little while, and it´s just perfect for acoustic guitar, bit noisy on field-recordings, but works very very well with acoustic instruments.

drany, you get audio (wav) samples and put them in folders, then load them up in reason.

Hey, Does the studio projects B1 extually work without 'phantom' our do I have to put my mixer between them?

You always need phantom power for the B1 mic and most other condensor mics.  Feel free to contact me if you need any other help.

Sorry, you didn't say about the toneport - yes it has phantom power and works fine with the B1.

I tried to get sound out of the B1 with the studio project and it doesn't work.

I workes only with a dynamic mic (sm57) in my case...

But I have the UX1, is there a difference you think?

me and my brother sing and play guitar and bass.i am planning on buying this but you said its RUBBISH at picking up bass but can it still pick it up? i dont want to waste my money...

It will still pick it up, it's perhaps worth running it through an amp first and then in though, or atleast invest in a DI box.

i got rid of my pops and clicks very easily...i jus turned off my wireless connection when im usin the tone port...only problem is you cant access the preset tone library so jus grab the tones you want first save em disconnect and get to wrk..

Roweena, TonePort Can be used without GearBox. In fact I am running mine using the Amplitube 2 series of software. Also Gearbox is free on Line 6's website for people using other audio interfaces.

I bought one toneport ux2 and the soung is that clear at all!!!! and the other thing is that i sounds like it stops for milisec or something...please any suggestions? thanks for your help. You are funny by the way ;)

ok the guy below. gearbox wont output to your sound card. all the audio goes back to the toneport. that means yo wont get sound if you are not using the toneport outputs. gearbox have that problem but it has allmost zero latency. so you can even practice with does sounds.amplitube does play the sound throgh the sound card you have on your computer but it sounds like a second late. huge latency. hope you get it working.

You can output to your computers soundcard..analogue left and right out,at the back of the toneport..to a stereo jack,,into your line in on your PC's soundcard..Jobs a goodun!

I have just bought the ux2 but I do have major problems! I can't get it to work properly. I have installed all programs and updated them, and changed all sound options to the toneport ux2, but it wont come any sound, not from anything. The only thing that works is if I plug my speakers into the "phones" jack, then everything works so-so(the sound from my guitar in gearbox is so low!!) but how do I fix this to work properly? Thank you / Ludvig

Cool video....I plan on picking up a Toneport sometime in the near future as I hear it has a pre-amp that rivals the major $1000.00 pre-amps like the Avalon M5. I don't know how true that is but maybe you can shed a little light on that. BTW I love your accent! Cheers!

good review. I think that when you press the power button on the top right of gearbox, it will override the gearbox presets. I'm not sure though.
