That being said, I don't know why anybody would want to be an armed guard. It pays like $.50 - $1.00 more per hour, with the added liability & danger of carrying (& maybe having to use) a gun

The young man obviously NEEDS to go back to school, and get a higher level of education, so that he can make more prudent, long term decisions. The Defendant, and their company prey on the less educated, and their inclination to want access to an "easy hustle". The Plantiff should have read the contract MORE thoroughly.

I don't understand any of this. I was a security guard in 1999 & the training could be taken at the local community college for like $50, or for free at any security company that hires you. You watched videos for a few hours & filled out a mock incident report. They never kept you there for 8, 16 hours. They would lie & just use the hours you worked as "on the job" training & mark you down as completed training course. $2,800??? WTF? Most companies provide free training. Mind did.
I feel that that company took advantage of this guy and promised him they could get him something they knew they couldn't just so he would take the classes. I feel so sorry for him
as an attorney i can say that the plaintiff may have a case to make against the producers of this show for damages to his character. the comment that he could kill lots of people shouldn't have been aired, and if i represented this guy i could make him some bucks in a settlement for sure!

For instance to learn how to drive in NS canada, You Pay to get a learners permit. Then you pay a private party (driving school) then you pay the government of NS again to get your full.

I love how after 95% of these cases the judge gives whoever fucked up some really good advice about things to do/not do for their situation, and then they talk to the hallway dude and make it clear they didn't listen to a word she said. Humans are so awesome at convincing themselves they're right and making such simple mistakes over and over. I believe the judge ruled correctly, but I don't trust these 'fly by night' schools that cater to people that can't afford or go to college. They charge incredible fees, promise jobs/income, and deliver so little in return. I wouldn't be shocked if the 'guidance counselor' actually did tell the P that everything was included (except actual gun). "Oh yea, all the fees, permits, range costs, etc. are included for the low price of ...." They prey on naivety.

I understand her rulling but I dont agree with her snarky comments about owning guns. A gun shop is supposed to educate/help you in getting a gun and help you better understand your state laws. And just because he wants a gun does not mean hes going to go *trigger happy* and wants to go shoot ppl. Be thankful that he actually tried to do the correct thing here by taking the classes and doing the correct thing. Loads of ppl carry guns with no permits/no safety classes

I love how after 95% of these cases the judge gives whoever fucked up some really good advice about things to do/not do for their situation, and then they talk to the hallway dude and make it clear they didn't listen to a word she said. Humans are so awesome at convincing themselves they're right and making such simple mistakes over and over. This is why the world seems to be full of idiots, because very few have the humility to admit when they're wrong, and so can't grow and learn from it.

This was an overall bad case, he lost his temper, yes, but as it seemed they didint explain it well, judge millian is smart and knows you need to ask questions, but not everyone has a degree in law and knows what saftey precaussions to take, this guy lost his temper because they kept adding other things for him to pay that weren't explained up front, it is indeed a scam and to assume he would go shooting everyone just because he had a gun is ignorant.

@pablow2310 The plaintiff is mad because he relied on what he believed this Cisco person said and not what the contract specifically stated. He chose to trust Cisco and not read the words printed on the page. I wouldn't give a gun to this guy, not because he lost his temper, but because he clearly has poor decision-making skills. If I'm laying out hundreds of dollars, read the papers. But the plaintiff is young and should take this as lesson learned.

How smart is judge Milan ? Not only does she explain the ruling, she pick up that the guy isnt the fastest horse in the stable if i put it mildly, and she explain the ruling in the simplest term so i think even that guy got it.
