  • YOUR LOVE - FRANKIE KNUCKLES

  • they got this from frankie knuckles by the way.

  • its driving me crazy trying to find out what button you pushed at 3:06 to make all the settings secure to mess with

  • This in not working for me. I’ve watched the video several times but can’t get the sound right. Are you sure you haven’t made more changes to the original A.12 patch? Please help!

  • Comment removed

  • Can you make the same patch with a microkorg xl or r3?

  • @tman2tuff I've actually never used either of those, so I couldn't tell you the answer to that. Sorry.

  • oh man i wish i had one of these

  • theres extra delay in there!

  • dantheman, could you help me please??

which knob, or knobs, exactly do you press at 3:06, because I can't seem to figure that out... thanks

  • @TheDubBase I just figured it out he just pushes the 2 button where it says program number and that sets it for some reason

  • @TheDubBase He already has the patch saved so he just hit the program number..

  • when you select something with the edit knob, how do you know which item on the parameter list the 1-5 knobs control respectively?

  • @guitarmaniac927 Well for this patch I just sort of messed around with some of them until I got it sounding right. But there is a list of words below each knob that correspond with the settings on the large dials so you know what you're adjusting. Is that what you're asking?

  • @dantheman7480 yea i figured it out thanks anyway

  • @dantheman7480 pricey?

  • @dantheman7480

I actually compared to other synths, I would say microkorg is pretty cheap. And it does a lot more than other synths in it's same price level.

  • @dantheman7480 Actually, compared to most synths, this thing is pretty cheap.

  • awesome thank you

  • @dantheman7480 bit pricey? for what you get i think its increbibly cheap, most synths will run you close to a grand plus

  • you tell em dan! dude when you send me something!

  • @cornpopsandacid yeah man. sorry about that. i haven't done much recording lately, up until this past week (check out the new song!). but feel free to send me anything anytime and i'll work around with it. and if i get any ideas that don't come through all the way, i'll send them to you.

  • this is just the patch on how to play it..AC,well Geologist is masterminding the whole song,by playing what was recorded by Aveys synth while Panda Bear uses a Roland and hits buttons for the bass, while Avey sings and plays drums..thats their live set

  • @ihaveAfr0 nahh man. sorry but thats not how it is.

  • What's funny is this is actually more work than the song required. The opening is a a Detroit House DJ's song from the 80's with pitched moved up.

  • Wait so how did you set 1.16 on the resonance cause my korg doesn't even get that number on that setting

  • nice work

  • thank so much for making a tutorial, i know nothing about theory or anything so this is the only possible way for me to learn this.

Could you PLEASE make a tutorial for Peacebone?!?!?!? i would pay you if i could

oh and one last question... how did you learn all of those animal collective songs? did you do it by ear? or sheet music? i am illiterate when it comes to keyboards so bear with me ahah

  • So does AC use the microkorg live or do they use the microkorg samples of a Roland sampler OR did they just sample the Frankie Knuckles song?

  • @merting I'm actually not sure where the sample came from. I don't know if they created it or sampled it from something. But I know they don't use a microkorg live. I'm pretty sure they just do it with samplers

  • @dantheman7480 Thanks for the reply! I just checked one of their live videos, and Avey Tare plays a keyboard which is (I think) a Juno 60. I think that's how they play it live.

  • @merting ive seen pand bear use a micro korg a couple times.

  • you hero, thanks

  • Very nice, thanks a lot man! I always thought that AC have this sort of synh tone that doesn't come off so "clubby", and is instead, more psychedelic and yet dancey. I really love the tones and loops they create, and I've been wanting to use them in my band, so again, thanks a ton for this.

  • @felizginato12 I feel exactly the same way. I'm thinking about getting a microkorg, but I was kind of depressed because I was looking for a classic 80's sounding synth that bands like AC and New Order use for my band, and this is sort of a "clubby" synth. But now I know that there are people out there searching for cool tones too.

  • Thanks :)

  • Awesome!
