I love this, and love how Blind Guardian can make such beautiful tributes to the best fantasy series around (this, lotr with the silmarillion and the hobbit, ecc.).. I have read some comments about who is "speaking" in here and I agree it has to be some of the Night's Watch characters.. it has some Aegon and some Jon Snow in it, but in the end I think it's Snow's perspective as he has been the most troubled character in the novel so far and he sent Sam "sailing down"..
